Why you don’t go full time already?
Been there down that for sure. We started out in 2007 and about 3 years ago we installed an online option which requires 25 % deposit and offer 10 % off by booking online since then we haven’t had any cancellations. Take a peep at setmore, free, pretty legit scheduler. We will still take phone appt at regular price but if they cancel we will attach a note which tells us to require online booking for next appt. If condition is bad upon arrival we adjust price accordingly. Keep going bro!

I believe a small deposit should be required. Most people don’t want to lose money. So if you get a $100 deposit to be applied to the service & they cancel, they’ll get $50 back for your time, period. That’s for everybody…through an app or over the phone, YOUR time is valuable & should be taken into account.
need to get some bar lights installed on the back of your van so when you work late at night you got great lighting, my boy here in ny got that on his van and his lights are bright
Love the hustle and being able to adjust on the fly Wayne. This really gives viewers an accurate depiction of how things can go during a regular day in the detailing world. Having a deposit on jobs over a certain dollar range may not be a bad idea in the future. It will deter people from ghosting you.

I always take deposits for any service over $100, I use urable and have multiple automatic reminders, I never have a no call no show and if one does happen im still covered because I make sure to get them deposits always💯

I never thought about taking deposits but I think I just might start doing it. I've had customers do me the same way. Talk to the the day before, then send them a text, they read the text & never reply back or reply super late (2 hours plus late) wanting to reschedule

hey bro for the stains if you can gain knowledge of the source by inspecting or asking the owner then you can solve it easier. some need solvents, some need oil base/water base. try a degreaser on the hard stains. make sure it's not damaging but I use purple thunder by pns....I think

I do the same thing to where I under price a job but if the customer is nice about everything and or they are reoccurring I will just knock it out instead of charging more.
Try some Folex on your stains. Let sit 5 mins and wash with a small sponge.
I’d love to hear some cold phone calls and even calls with reoccurring customers. I feel like I struggle in that area

Have had that happen a few times in the past year. Most were not huge huge jobs. Maybe 2-300 jobs. Whether they answered or not I sent them a message and let them know if they ever try to schedule in the future no matter the amount, they will need to put a deposit down. Sucks all around but people are like that.

Yes indeed they get mad. They don't understand the concept of entrepreneurship. Many women think having money means having all the time in your hands. When really having money takes a lot of your time. It's hard to balance honestly. I saw my business failing when I spent more time with family. I try to sacrifice weekends to hangout with family but I can sometimes be loosing 2k+ in just 2 days and this is detailing I'm talking about.
I'm not even a detailer so I'm in no position to give advice however if I were running my own business I would definitely require a deposit to guarantee some type of profit. Plus clients are more likely to not cancel when they have money on the line. It's too easy for people to flake when they aren't taking a loss. It's unfortunate but as business owners you gotta look out for yourself and your employees. Too many flaky customers out there.

Why you trying to rush? You’re detailing not washing a car.
Time is money you absolutely need to work with a rhythm. Have an order you follow and while you’re at a spot do it right so you don’t go back.
Write out your process and fine tune as you go down the road

Your losing out on money! Ive had customers that have had to reschedule and 95% dont miss it again. Now if they miss 2 in a row then yeah id say block em but people usually dont. You should give people a chance my dude

Super clean dilluted or just any A.P.C and a basic microfiber cloth. That’s about as far as you should go. Headliners are very delicate services and using any strong detergent or steamer / extractor can damage it and cause the headliner to droop
