    every keyboard works perfectly as long as it dries enough. I spilled my drink over my corsair K70 RGB, let it dry for 3 days to be 100% sure its dry. And it works perfectly. Typing on it right now. ALL LED's work, every color works. Not waterproof

    • @Goldstar4me
      @Goldstar4me 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Similar thing here, my K65 RGB had a pretty thorough drenching of cup noodle, some of which I think got into the switches. Took it all apart and washed/bathed it in the shower to make sure everything was squeaky clean, then dried it all for a day or two in front of a space heater. After putting it all back together, works flawlessly months after. Electronics can be a lot more durable against spills than people think, given they're handled properly for cleaning.

    • @YourNightmar3

      XANX As long as it dries, and doesnt do any damage when its still on like short circuits, everything will work fine.

    • @TheCzomolungm
      @TheCzomolungm 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, as the copper paths may corrode and become nonconductive, permanently damaging the circuit - that's what happened to my $25 membrane keyboard

    • @rasmasyean
      @rasmasyean 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A real test would involve spilling water, better yet coffee, on it while it's plugged in. Then you can rinse it off and dry it. That would be water resistant. A "waterproof" keyboard should be tested while typing underwater inside a pool.

    I love that you locked off the main shot instead of having it handheld like your last video.
    Really the only improvement I might suggest is regarding the lava lamp. It really makes the composition unbalanced (it attracts you much attention), so maybe add something on the other side to balance it or remove it from the shot.
    Idk I just feel like that might help, but obviously do whatever you want

    I bought the Tomoko mechanical keyboard on Prime day 2016 for $30. This keyboard is amazing, the keys are clicky with a nice feedback. The keyboard is very compact and feels very sturdy and well made. I wouldn't call Tomoko keyboards knockoffs, rather they good clones. The keyboard is manufactured by a company called Easterntimes Tech and Tomoko slapped their brand on it.
    A week after using this keyboard, I was at Best Buy and came across some very expensive brands such as Razerr and Corsair. I tested their blue/clicky keyboards and I honestly felt those keyboards are not any better than this Tomoko keyboard.

    If you want cheap mechanical keyboards, go on eBay and find sketchy Chinese ones. I've seen them sell for as low as $26. I personally got a Rapoo V500 mechanical keyboard for $34, and it has dedicated volume keys.

    After a dog attack I got some nerve damage. I can't feel a couple of fingers or the keys when I type. I bought this keyboard because of the loud switches it really helps a lot. Instead of feeling the switches when I type I can hear them. The audible feedback helps my typing.

  • @joshuacoppola3017
    @joshuacoppola3017 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I managed to get this on Amazon for $20, the case is very solid, almost no flex, and the feet are solid. Switches are Outemu Blues. The only weakness is the keyboard does not always sit flat, even on a flat surface, in which case I just flex it slightly to fix it. Sounds jank but it works fine. I did upgrade the keycaps, as that is the only part that belies the low price.

    as long as its not plugged into anything u could take any electronic device into a pool with u.. let it sit at the bottom of the pool for a week.. pull it out .. let it dry completely and itll work.. try plugging it in and running water on it.. thats the real test for water resistance

    pretty much any electronic without a battery can get wet and dry out without breaking. You could unplug a Corsair K70, put it in the sink like that, and let it dry, and it would also preform the same. When you drop your coffee over the keyboard, it wont be unplugged. if its truely water resistant, you should have done the test with it plugged in and on a desk

  • @RubyGraphics
    @RubyGraphics 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    bought this keyboard but hate how the keycaps have the letters printed on it, the letters start to get dirty and fade, however you can just purchase new keycaps to replace them, but with that money you can just buy a new keyboard

  • @SubVengeance
    @SubVengeance 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    But how many people drink only water? :P Sugary drinks will dry out and be sticky causing some keys to trigger nearby key(s) too, or not working, and sometimes even a whole row of keys not working. Usually opening the keyboard and using some rubbing alcohol / flux off (flux removing spray, usually comes with a brush head) on the board, and letting it dry helps restore majority if not all operation.

    All I have is this cheap Dell stock keyboard. I game a lot (especially on MOBA's) and sometimes the key lag and the non-clicky sound I get really screws up my combos because I'm focusing on the screen. I also use my desk a lot for food and stuff for on the go studying and working so the water resistance of this works out perfectly for what I need. Thanks again love the channel and keep up the AMAZING work.

    That's not how water + electronics work. A lot of times, when the person "dries" it, there's still water inside that causes corrosion. The proper way is to disassemble it and then rinse it in in isopropol alcohol 90%. Then use a fan on it to dry it the remainder of the way.

    Things that came in contact with moisture can still have minerals left. I think that your keyboard isn't as durable anymore after it's bath. With smaller electronics, like phones, this risk is significantly higher because the components are tiny.

    HEY anyone interested in mechanical keyboards, you should know that THIS one is a winner. I looked at all kinds of mechanical keyboards, the main competitor being the Hcman Zhuque, and I can tell you that this one is the one to beat. I bought it on Amazon, and it's just fantastic to type on. The weight is great too.

    This keyboard actually is great! It's great to play on and type on, but just one complaint, the lettering on the keyboard kind of fades or just goes a bit darker after you use it for a while. But it's not a problem for me because I don't really look at my keyboard when I'm typing and the fading isn't that strong anyway! :D

    Looks like an Outemu blue switch, if that's what it is, it's the same as in the Redragon Vara, which I really love using!

    I'm happy with my Logitech G105 keyboard. It has the numpad (even though it isn't used a lot) and it has programmable buttons which I use quite a bit.

    Will it rust if you don't pop it open and dry it like a saltine in the desert?

    Is there really any use in testing an unplugged keyboard? You said it yourself all electronics would survive if unplugged while getting wet and then dried. Just spill a cup of water when plugged in and see if it survives.

    For the waterproof test you should have pored your coffee on it and then cleaned it with water

    I would honestly like to have this keyboard. I work a minimum wage job bagging groceries at a grocery store only on the weekends, and I'm saving for a pc. all I need is a good keyboard, hut can't because I'm paying off my car! Love your videos man!

    Seems really similar to the redragon kumara except different keys and no back lighting.

    yeah it is good for the price but it doesnt have back lighting and i guess the waterproof factor makes up for that

    The name of the switches are probably written upside down, just turn the keyboard and shine some light on it.

    I bought this keyboard, and currently have an issue. I was testing the keyboard and somehow 2 buttons have swapped. Do you know what I can do to fix this?

    The keycaps on our keyboards are made out of the same plastic as Legos

    I'll take it! I actually have the redragon, but I could use a second mech keyboard for my secondary machine (1st world problems)

    *'fuly'* Edit: So, I ended up buying this keyboard because of this review - and I don't think I could be happier with it as a first time mechanical buyer. I'm sure plenty of other boards are better, but not many of them can be had for this price. The switches are loads more satisfying than a rubber dome, and the MX compatible stems means lots of customization possibilities. I'm also really surprised at how heavy and solid this board is... the keycaps are light in a normal sort of way, but the housing / case of this thing is beastly, especially for a "budget" board. Now I'm just looking for excuses to type... that's the only reason I'm commenting here. Delicious clickey keys... Have clacked. Not going back.

    This looks exactly like the Redragon K552 without backlight, even has the same feet. Does this keyboard have the same swithes (Switch Master) as the K552???
