So glad to see that he has reunited with the cast. All these years there was no info or photos of him. This 50 year reunion is something you can never relive so I’m happy he didn’t miss out. I think one day Melissa Sue will really regret no attending. You can’t wind back time. So many members of the cast have already passed and more are soon to come. He seems genuinely sincere with what he said. Hopefully now that he found his “home” / family he can now rest after his 50 year journey.

Jonathan and I were friends/classmates back in elementary school in 1974-1975....he was a good friend and a good kid. Melissa also went to our school where she was a few grades above us. They were both very nice and unprententious kids. My wife recently saw and met both of them at the 50th reunion. Just as great 50 years later as they were then.

So sweet & so amazing to finally hear his voice! I hope he's been taking in all the love & appreciation from everybody these past couple days & it doesn't overwhelm him to the point of retreating from public view again
I don't really think he retreated because of that, he just didn't want to be a part of the LHOP gang. He did live a life traveling and working and maybe now needed the money. I'm just glad to know he is well. In time, he might say a little about the past but no one needs to know that. Or a book if he wants the money. Dean has one coming out in June....that's the last of them I think for now.

Hindsight is 2020 and when you’re a very young adult, you think you know everything and it takes you years to see what was right in front of you all along. I’ve often wondered what happened to Jonathan, what he was doing. It was always so sad to never see him in interviews or at any events. I’m so glad that he has had what seems to be an incredible life journey so far and that he found his way back to the beginning of it all where so many people love him and want the best for him.

Yes, it doesn't always work, but time does heal for many. He also had an opportunity to be seen and make 6 figures and in a 3 day work period, that might have pushed him a bit too.
We couldn't really see what he looks like it's kind of far away, but I'm glad he was there and those people got to see him. He rarely makes appearances along with Melissa Sue Anderson. She doesn't ever seem to be there when they have these reunions. I don't know why, but I wish she would. It would be so good to see her.💓
She doesn't like crowds and with some things said about her by cast, well 2 of them, it's awkward. She did always have class in not returning barbs and makes TV appearances and has social media account, but that said, I'd like to see her again. Beautiful family and life since LHOP

They speculated that she was disgusted by them and looked down upon them. Despite this, Mary has shown up from time to time on news show reunions with the rest of the cast.

I am very confused. There seems to be two Jonathan Gilberts. I've seen pictures in " where are they now" & before & now pictures...and the person portrayed as Jonathan look nothing like the man on stage as the current Jonathan. Anyone that can clear this up would be appreciated.
Until the 50th reunion no one knew what he looked like. There were photos all over the internet claiming it was him but they were not. Now we know what he looks like and it has been confirmed by his cast members and his sister Melissa Gilbert. I met him at the reunion and it is definitely him. He was so kind and you could tell it was him.
I can not believe how fast we went from pre teens to now Seniors! Weird Nellie is always lying flat on the ground. On the outside she laid down in the dirt now she's on the ground from profound speech.

When you see the pictures of the reunion, you can see it better. It's really him. A lot of facial features are still the same. But he does look very different, because he got older and I guess he got through difficult things in his life.
