how did you find the the stand for the CRT tv? I've been struggling find one for myself for a while now so my tv's just been sitting on the floor. Any advice on where i can look for one?
I bought it in the 1990s from an electronics store. Circuit City I think. Your best route is to search Craigslist, because nobody has made them for a long time. Or you can just make one on your own.
I've always enjoyed your game room. I think it's awesome that you have a room dedicated to being able to actually play the games in your collection. Too many people just collect games, but they rarely ever play them. I've subbed your channel for many years now and I always enjoy your videos. I used to use a lot of switch boxes back in the day with my old Projection 51 Inch Big Screen TV. Those colored LED lights are a nice touch for the room. It can definitely help set the mood for certain games that you're playing. They would be good for horror games etc. I thought you might show your 4th wall with a broken part, or hole in the wall, and say "hey I've broken the 4th wall" lol. I love all of those Video game magazines that you have. Having the games separate from the playing area is a good idea. It allows you to have a game room and a library for you collection. Keep up the great work my friend.
For the LED lights, you could put them in a diffuser so the light isn't so blinding. It might work out better to diffuse them, the place them down towards the consoles and facing the wall on other parts.
At first glance it doesn't seem much different from other people game rooms, but it's all the stuff going on behind the scenes that make this room amazing. The fact that every system is ready to play is unreal. Thanks for the video and well done on such a class room.
This is literally a video from heaven! Absolute dream setup. I can't even begin to tell you how much I would pay in order to have my brother and one of my friends hang out in this room for one weekend!
I wish i didn't give up collecting, i was off to an ok start with it. This was years ago now, but i did it because i pretty much had to, i needed the money and didn't have the space. I mean, yeah i could start over again, except that now everything is so much more expensive than it was before. So i just accept that i have what i do now. Newer consoles and a nice collection of newer games, with the exception of PC, which is loaded with classic games off steam and GOG and so on
I don't think I've ever seen a game room as well-thought out and organized as this before, this is fucking incredible. You even have obscure stuff like the LJN VideoArt. The multiple TVs idea is brilliant separating the HDMI systems from the analog ones. It's truly incredible just how much stuff you crammed in here while still maintaining a clean look. But I can't resist giving a few suggestions: - Label the systems by name or an acronym instead of numbers on the switch boxes. Reduces the amount of memorization needed. (Ex. NES, 2600, TG-16, Saturn, etc.) I saw this when AVGN gave a tour of his game room. - If the LEDs work for you in the long run, try to have a single box for wiring for each side of the room. I don't know much about large LED control boxes, but you could probably think of some clever soldering solution. - Route the cables along the poles of the shelves to help achieve a cleaner look. Or use some kind of sheet the same color as the wall, but I think the first option is the most viable one. You easily earned yourself a new subscriber. Can't wait to see more!
Thanks for the comments. I'll just mention the numbers are listed by each console so there's no memorization. Also, I move systems around, so having numbers makes that easy. If I used acronyms, I would have to do a lot of peeling.
Reminds me a lot of my setup although you're at 6x the scale of my setup. I'm juggling about 12 consoles, controllers, games and their A/V and power connections to a single tv. It's daunting but once it's setup and you have your source switching solution it's just 👌 My young kids understand my system numbering method so now they go in and play older games too. It makes me so happy and is the reason I've been keeping my consoles for the past 20 years. They also understand my consoles are 10 - 40 years old and treat them with great respect. I couldn't be happier watching a little kid today get so much joy out of playing Sonic Adventure on a Dreamcast or The Legend of Zelda on an actual NES. Kudos to you and your collection and practical management system! Love what you've done here.
This was great. My son also started collecting systems a couple years ago and we had multiple switchers set up for the retro systems. He too spent a lot of time on Dream Cast and Genesis, this month he is more focused on the Atari 400. He plays more on the old systems than he does on the current gen. Sadly, some of the older systems cost more. I do enjoy helping him work on them when something goes wrong.
This the best solution I have seen, and a major achievement. So many retro gamers have things packed away or not connected. I personally have not achieved more than 4-5 consoles at the same time😥
To have all these system hooked up to your screens in the manner you have is simply amazing. It's one of the best ways to actually have everything usable without having to plug or unplug a singe single console/system. Wow!
The key to the LEDs is to have them diffused by some sort of frosty translucent material or to just have the diodes facing away from you like towards the wall. In this case id say it'd be worth it just just have the strips on the bottom of each shelf if you can to illuminate what you have. That way they can be cool accent lights and not blinding :)
I got all of my nintendo US/Japan and Xbox systems in the closet and I’m trying to do something like this. This setup is awesome and it gave me ideas for my setup.
I've been a fan for a while, but I have to say, this is the best Gaming Setup I've seen It's all about being able to play at all times I started my project to get my systems ready during the pandemic😀 I have a lot less consoles, so it was a lot easier for me 👍
You sir have one amazing collection , i have come across your channel a few times before. The amount of wires of all those systems would drive me nuts. But i see you have your ways of setting them up. If your happy with your setup nothing else matters. Its what makes ya happy.
Awesome you made this video because great to see those unique systems. Thanks ! 👌 4:40 totally understand you play now a lot on the Dreamcast.. amazing system it is.
really appreciate the editing/correcting. goes to show that you carefully review your videos before uploading unlike some channels that just rush their videos out just for easy views.
You should do a video where you turn every single one of them on at the same time but you have the AV cables connected to your head, then your eyes start glowing white and the video shoots out of your mouth like a projector
A set of curtains or felt hung like curtains (with two pieces of cloth and a spot to pass cords through) with velcro on the back of the shelves could hide the cords and also still provide easy access! So cool to see all the love and hard work you've put into this setup.
Thanks. This is my second channel and was only created a couple of months ago. The retro crowd isn't very big, so it's not easy to get large numbers to visit. A tour video sometimes will do the trick though!
Very impressive. Figuring out all the plugs must’ve been a battle. Love it. However the wired shelves the consoles are on makes me feel like I’m gaming in a kitchen behind a concession stand.
I do see those shelves in restaurants all the time, and I always point them out to my wife and say "hey, they are using gaming shelves for storing cans."
Take this to a whole new level with IR controlled input switch boxes, an Echo Dot and a Harmony Hub and you could control all of this by voice command.
I was finding it hard to figure out what kind of shelving I could use for my room. But as soon as I was this I found what I was looking for. Looks great and I cant wait to build my setup next weekend
Everything is so clean and thought about trough and trough. I am plaining on setting up a little game room (I dont have that many consoles tough 😆) and you give some good ideas. I like the your "ready to play" setup and the fact that it is also a little museum. It changes from all those other streamers game room which are all flashy and all.... but don't have any soul ! Keep up the good work !
Great collection 👌 I used to be a massive collector like this, but after moving home multiple times and having to haul my collection from address to address, I mostly coverted to digital copies of most games now. There are some great emulators out there aswell.
Great setup, nice and tidy with lots of space to breathe! I did the same but with WAY less consoles, because my gaming area is just a corner in the attic, and I only bought consoles I want to play. I crammed 13 consoles (M$, Nintendo, SEGA and SONY from 16-bit up to PS3/X360/WiiU) into a white 4x2 Kallax shelf unit, split every square space into 2 rectangular shelves which adds up to 16 shelves, turned 2 into drawers where all cables converge, the first has 5 frontal power buttons (main power button + 1 button for each of the 4 row/brand of consoles) plus frontal HDMi/LAN/USB/Power plug for convenience, and the other has auto HDMi switches inside and 2 frontal Bandridge SCART switches. Since all consoles are under the TV and close apart, there's no need for controller/power/video extensions, and every cable is nicely hidden along the back of the shelves. A huge CRT sits on top of the 4x2 Kallax, and the HDMi TV goes on top of a 2x2 Kallax shelf unit right next to the other. On this one, the top 2 squares are also split into 4 rectangular shelves for handhelds, a C64 and a Spectrum 48k (not connected, I use the frontal plugs in the drawers since these are hands on), and the bottom 2 squares have 2 white Lekman boxes for controllers storage. It's the best I could do to make a clean setup in the smallest space possible, I love how it turned out, but it took lots of years to decide what goes where and how to organize it all.
This is really good organized! Thanks for showing your precious setup! This gives me inspiration for my systems. I love the idea to have every system ready to play. Fortunately I only have 17 systems so I don’t have to figure out anything complicated like yours.
This reminds me of my set apart from I've only got 12 consoles linked to my 2 TVs all ready to go and have been playing on several different consoles I always try run them all frequently I have been playing doom ps1 Duke nukem forever on ps3 watch dog legion on xbox one starfox on gamecube paper Mario on wiil and halo 2 on og xbox you have defo got OCD like me lol it puts my brain at ease lookin at your set up lol
Man, I hope you got good insurance and protection on all that. As well as having a reliable inspector, hvac people, etc to help ensure your house doesn’t catch fire. You can’t beat a collection like that
Very neat! You have gave me plenty of ideas to make my dream room a possibility :) it’s nice seeing that you can have everything hooked up at the same time, for I have wondered about that for years and years. Thanks for taking the time to put this Video together! Much appreciated.
As a collector myself, I have to say, it's damn hard to decide how to distribute the consoles. Not only we need to take in account how to plug them to TV, but the controller cords distance are important too. Usually, the consoles with wireless controllers, they sit in the more distant shelves from the couch. The ones with wires, in the rack next to the couch. I see that you have a Gamecube in the same area of the more modern consoles, you could consider to buy a pair of Wavebird controllers, and the GCHD (Gamecube HDMI converter, as long as your Cube is the model with digital output), this way the system become a "modern" system aswell.
I have my retro video game console collection configured, setup, and ready to play on my modern TV using the OSSC. No CRT space and I don't want to deal with the size and potential maintenance required. I am lazy! The thing is, I bought and configured a Mister FPGA. While I still own a ton of physical copies of games, I find that when I want to play, I go to the Mister. For anyone looking to play retro video games and not addicted to nostalgia, the Mister is likely the least expensive way to go if you are looking for CYCLE ACCURACY (slowdown where you expect slowdown, etc). Depending on your configuration, you can output hardware accurate refresh rates via analog for CRT gaming if you want it, or you can do HDMI output without the need of a scaler. Obviously, a Retro Pi is less expensive but also not as accurate as Mister. Really comes down to what itch a person is trying to scratch. If all a person wants is to play and don't care about hardware accuracy, the Retro Pi is great. Of course, if someone wants to play on real hardware on an old CRT or connected to their modern TV or whatever route they want to go, I applaud them in whatever way they want to play. I just find I would have been better off and had more money left over if I just went with a Mister out of the gate...
You’ve come a long way over the last few years. Your editing is tighter and you seem more comfortable in front of the camera. Always love new room tours.
An awesome setup! Can tell an insane amount of work has went into this! One tip I would have is replace the LED strips with more modern Bluetooth ones. Won't have the remotes and you could adjust the brightness, would also recommend getting bulbs to match as dimming the lights when gaming or on special occasions is quite nice!
Utter dreamland. I feel cold, biting shame for getting rid of my systems decades ago. I miss my Saturn, N64 and Panasonic 3DO most. For shame... Great museum and game room.
I just had a idea if u swapped the power sockets on each console and add a smart plug to each power cord not hard to do really you could rename them all and walk in say Alexa turn on CRT TV Alexa turn on master system ect ect that would be cool asf !
Just a suggestion they have blackout curtains that completely block the light so you don't need to use the card board it will also help with sound dampening a little. We used them alot here in Arizona to help keep the room cooler. Just a suggestion. I want to start a collection too but only systems I've owned in the pass the others are cool but don't really interest me.
I was just thinking at the start of the video how a MiSter would make that setup way more compact, then you mention it at the end. Even so that's an impressive set up. Thanks for showing it to us. As for the old wardrobe, I think that would be the perfect spot for extra controllers and your PC.
I only have a fraction of the systems you do, and I struggle to get them setup. I like some of these ideas and might try them out with my setup (especially the rack mounted power stuff.) It is really amazing how much you have crammed into that room. I would like to see a tour of your games as well!
This video blows my mind and I’m so jealous, maybe most of all of that ninja gaiden ending painting you have hanging above. One of the first games I ever beat as a kid and that game will always hold a special place for me. Sick setup man absolutely amazing.
Thanks for the comment. That scene on the Ninja Garden poster is actually from an early part of the game. I also beat the game back then, but it took me a LOT of trying.
That is an awesome arcade museum room man. You definitely did grow up at the beginning of video games you have 40yrs of video game history there marvelous man I wish I had a big place to do the same thing
I love these vids. I'm likely to get a new place here soon and have been looking at setup vids this past month. Your setup is definitely the one from which I'm going to take the most ideas. Great work!
Love your setup and you have given me a lot of cool ideas for my collection. First thing I love the rack mounted system, I’ve used those wire racks before but I don’t know how I’ve never thought to bridge them together like you did. Very cool idea!
You should probably order 2 of those new HDMI switches, because if you only order one, the next day you'll find a new system to buy! My space is so limited (entire game area is 8'x4') but I've managed to cram 8 consoles onto a 3-shelf unit (32" wide and 12" deep, top shelf is 26" high). It's all accessible within arms reach while sitting down. There's even a custom pull out tray for a ps2-slim. It's all plugged into 2 tvs (my crt is a 21" samsung slim line that's only 14" deep!). All sound from the tvs is connected to a Fostex multi--channel headphone amp so I can watch a tv show and play a game and mix the sound volumes. The main selector box is the Pelican System Selector Pro (total 8 inputs, powered) and it accepts composite, component, and s-vid, plus it has front ports for my tv plug and play games. All game controllers are connected and I've created an interesting thing where I've made some custom cables that allow me to plug in multiple controllers to a console and select the one I want with a switch box. There's even a switch that allows me to select which console I want the controllers to work on (for example I can choose which atari console I want the paddle to work on). I've also made controller mods that allow me to use joystick and paddle controls on some ps-1 and ps-2 games. My gaming is limited to Atari and arcade games from brands like Williams, Namco, golf games, some light gun stuff and anything Pinball, but I enjoy seeing all of the later consoles that people collect and especially how gamerooms are put together.
Amazing! And an honest take on the state of game rooms in 2022. Would love to see you shoot a video in the room where all the games are stores, highlighting systems or collections of games. 😁👍
I love the black box units for storing the controller cable slack. Have been looking for something similar that would be work in an IKEA Kallax based setup, but haven’t had any luck yet 😂
That organization if phenomenal. I currently have 4 systems on my living room TV. (With a 4-way AV composite switch) and they were a pain to get as neatly set up as possible. I want to get one of those rack mounted power supplies but they are pretty pricey. I just rely on making sure everything is turned off
Very cool, especially the LED light display! I like the mini console setup as well! I'd be curious to see how the new HDMI switcher looks compared to what you have here now. I'll have to look through your channel to see if there is an updated tour video. 😃👍👍
Enjoyed that very much. I can see you really love your room and it shows in your presentation. I can imagine trying to keep it dust free is a big challenge. I look forwards to future videos.
Funny how your setup is similar to mine. I have the same brand of wire shelf, but on wheels. Same idea for power, switched power distribution with short extensions for the wall warts. I have a lot less consoles, so it all fit in one. Great minds thinks alike! lol

This is the coolest, most unnecessary thing I’ve ever seen… and I love it 🔥
I thought the same damn thing!!! But damn is it cool!!!! And don't get twisted, this man sees more bare butt than a toilet seat!!!!
unnecessary!? NO!
This is the most necessary thing I've ever seen

Spoiler, I am getting rid of the LEDs soon. There will be a video about it.
The best gaming room on TH-cam, very concise and straight to the point, no useless overkills.
For the LED lights, you could put them in a diffuser so the light isn't so blinding. It might work out better to diffuse them, the place them down towards the consoles and facing the wall on other parts.
Thank you. I'm looking into that. Hopefully I can get something that would be attachable to the existing strips and shelving.
I can tell you right now, those wiretech shelves are rated for a minimum of 50 lbs. The tv will be fine on a shelf.
I have over 120+ systems from Pong to Switch and seeing this setup is a neat idea.
stop hoarding, mental illness
At first glance it doesn't seem much different from other people game rooms, but it's all the stuff going on behind the scenes that make this room amazing. The fact that every system is ready to play is unreal. Thanks for the video and well done on such a class room.

If you build it.... They will come....
A couple arcade machines might fit nicely in that closet. Even a pedestal with LaunchBox installed and a 50" screen could work.
Send it all over and I'll make it happen!
That's actually a good idea
The most impressive thing is that you are the only man with an Apple Pippin hooked up at all times.
LOL. I may have a game to play on it someday.

98% of this setup could be replicated with a mid tier PC, and retroarch, but I love it regardless.
Buddy was the highlight of the video! Loved that you took in a kitty with just 1 eye 🥰

Awesome you made this video because great to see those unique systems. Thanks ! 👌
4:40 totally understand you play now a lot on the Dreamcast.. amazing system it is.
Hey! Nice to see you here my friend 😀
@@stutterin_stick239 Yeah buddy always looking for other vids on TH-cam 😄
Great to see you here to 😎
MY dUDE IS HEREEE
It's wicked to see fans of old school, gather from around the world. To injoy someone hard work
I don't understand these TH-camrs wanting to advertise all their stuff.
I understand them having it.... but advertising it to the wider world?
This dude is a F'N Genius, My compliments great sir.
I want to compliment you on this feat of imagination. Wow. Just amazing, I think that since you've done this, mankind is comforted.
really appreciate the editing/correcting. goes to show that you carefully review your videos before uploading unlike some channels that just rush their videos out just for easy views.
I've seen all your room tours and this new one doesn't disappoint....great job mate and thanks for sharing.
Very cool setup. Can't imagine how much work that was to design and build. Thanks for sharing.

This has to be the best setup I've seen. I really like the power bars with a switch for each system. Very nice.
Edit: Love Buddy the cat.
I'm shocked this channel doesn't have mkre subs and video doesn't have more views. Congrats on an absolutely epic game room my friend
Thanks. This is my second channel and was only created a couple of months ago. The retro crowd isn't very big, so it's not easy to get large numbers to visit. A tour video sometimes will do the trick though!

I never had a dreamcast as a kid. I bought one 6months ago and its now my fav console :)
Very cool gaming room. Congrats.
Seeing a Vectrex is always fantastic.
Been following your game room since I was a teenager. Got some inspiration from all your tours. Appreciate the new tour!
I was finding it hard to figure out what kind of shelving I could use for my room. But as soon as I was this I found what I was looking for. Looks great and I cant wait to build my setup next weekend
I could see everything perfectly.... kudos to you and the setup...
I can’t get over how clean everything looks.
The most impressive part of this video is the cable management. Wow!
this is the most useful most practical most dreamy realistic setup yet!!! no need for 20 TVs , just a clean setup....sweet
This man has a wall dedicated to the Vectrex and Virtual Boy... As far as I'm concerned, that alone is enough to call this the ultimate game room
Everything is so clean and thought about trough and trough. I am plaining on setting up a little game room (I dont have that many consoles tough 😆) and you give some good ideas. I used to be a massive collector like this, but after moving home multiple times and having to haul my collection from address to address, I mostly coverted to digital copies of most games now.
More switches than the starship enterprise, Nice setup man!!
This is really good organized! Thanks for showing your precious setup!
This gives me inspiration for my systems. I love the idea to have every system ready to play. Fortunately I only have 17 systems so I don’t have to figure out anything complicated like yours.
Remarkable setup, this is the best game room I've seen. Neat, clean, organized and very well thought out.
Hey there. I'd rather play with corded controllers than deal with batteries and charging.
Thanks. I've had a lot of practice recently with the surge in videos.
This is the definition of ‘thorough’.
The annual room tour video 🥳 Wonder what new systems will be added this year😊
An awesome setup! Can tell an insane amount of work has went into this! One tip I would have is replace the LED strips with more modern Bluetooth ones. Won't have the remotes and you could adjust the brightness, would also recommend getting bulbs to match as dimming the lights when gaming or on special occasions is quite nice!
You've got a great setup.
Great video, great setup. I love how everything's readily available to play. Thanks for sharing!
I love the cleanliness of the whole setup. That must have taken forever to plan and set up.
Truly phenomenal. Organized, neat & tidy. Intelligently implemented. Bravo dude, bravo. 🤘
Love & peace from Liverpool, England. 🙏
You have inspired me so much, I am a beginner on console collection and can’t wait to get to this level
Could always put the leds on the bottom of the blue shelves, that way the plastic on the shelf diffuses the light
Those LEDs are long gone.
nice setup, like how you have everything hooked up to certain tv’s and ready to play
Utter dreamland. I feel cold, biting shame for getting rid of my systems decades ago. I miss my Saturn, N64 and Panasonic 3DO most. For shame... Great museum and game room.
I just had a idea if u swapped the power sockets on each console and add a smart plug to each power cord not hard to do really you could rename them all and walk in say Alexa turn on CRT TV Alexa turn on master system ect ect that would be cool asf !
never been so impressed in my life, finally found my idol
Just a suggestion they have blackout curtains that completely block the light so you don't need to use the card board it will also help with sound dampening a little. We used them alot here in Arizona to help keep the room cooler. Just a suggestion. I want to start a collection too but only systems I've owned in the pass the others are cool but don't really interest me.
great setup man as a kid i wanted them all now this man has them ready to play
I was just thinking at the start of the video how a MiSter would make that setup way more compact, then you mention it at the end. Even so that's an impressive set up. Thanks for showing it to us. As for the old wardrobe, I think that would be the perfect spot for extra controllers and your PC.
There is an upfront cost with it, but from what I heard it mimics the original hardware better than most emulators.
@@GamingTheSystems1 Agree. I've got one on my desk underneath a 10" JVC cube PVM. I love it.
@@GamingTheSystems1 same! I was still in grade school and took me years. That’s right it is earlier.
That is an awesome arcade museum room man. You definitely did grow up at the beginning of video games you have 40yrs of video game history there marvelous man I wish I had a big place to do the same thing
I used to have those 5 button input switcher boxes sitting on top of the tv. I used to press all the buttons at once. Give it a try.
I'm afraid to!
This is the best gameroom in the world for sure! I plan to make mine similar to this one day
😮 it's up there for sure. I love it. I'll never have it..but I can live vicariously through you 😢
I love these vids.
Thanks. I guess my will to play video games is so strong I end up forcing my brain to come up with stuff.
I think LED strips come with brightness settings on the remote
This is The Best Video Game Console Show Room of 2022 🏅🏆 Thank you for the tour and demo 💐
So organized. Nothing like the apartment that a Japanese collector called Fujita lives in.
Someone else mentioned Fujita. I will check them out.
Man, this makes me so happy. I would be so proud to have a set up like this lol 😆
😃👍👍
Refreshing. Honest. Informative. Metroid.
What’s that thing called on your pocket? Is that where you record your mini mic? 🤔 and I love your setup. I’ve been watching
It's a mic. Blink500 Pro
Enjoyed that very much. I can see you really love your room and it shows in your presentation. I can imagine trying to keep it dust free is a big challenge. I look forwards to future videos.
"Not that I play these systems too often but the option is still there" basically describes my entire playstation and Steam backlog lol
Funny how your setup is similar to mine. I have the same brand of wire shelf, but on wheels. Same idea for power, switched power distribution with short extensions for the wall warts. I have a lot less consoles, so it all fit in one. Great minds thinks alike! lol
Amazing room. I've been getting ideas for my gameroom all thanks to you.
You are living my dream dude, mad props.
Holy cow this is truly impressive!
Great how everything is ready to use.
You put a lot of work into this. Thanks for sharing.
Dude this is absolutely insane. And absolutely awesome!
