  • First of a series, and a remastered return of an ancient series I did at the beginning of this channel 13 years ago; transit ride videos! This is SEPTA Subway Surface Trolley Route 10, from 13th and Market in Center City Philadelphia to 63rd St and Malvern Ave in Overbrook. 1980 Kawasaki LRV #9093, formerly an Elmwood Anniversary wrapped unit. Thanks for watching, and subscribe for scenes from the next ride!

Cars seem to be an annoying pest in Philly (well, just as everywhere). I see them in this video going on cycling lanes, parking on pedestrian crossings, parking on trolley tracks, ignoring all kinds of road markings, etc.etc., all without being sanctioned in any way. What's up with the police in this city? Are there no traffic cameras? Are cars allowed just everywhere? Drivers seem to think the streets are theirs.
The subway section is very cool. Looks really old. Especially the three-track sections. And is there a mixed section with dedicated high-floor subway trains using higher platforms? Great to watch anyways, thanks for filming!

      To answer your questions
1: The cops don't care enough about blocking a trolley to make anyone move.
2: We have plenty of traffic cameras.
3: No, but they do it anyway, because "Who's gonna stop me?" until a trolley rams the back of their car or uses the air horn they don't often use.
4: You're looking at four tracks, not three. And yes, 15th through about 33rd Streets share the tunnel with the Market Frankford Line. The train runs on the two center tracks.

😂 The sidewalks in Center City get power washed and vacuumed quite a lot.

10:37 do you know where those tracks go? 20:07 if that Honda came around that corner any faster he would have slammed into the trolley. idiots need to learn to drive.
