1.4k views? man that's actually kinda crazy, when i first made this video, like i said in one of the replies, no one watched it but me and my family. and im not gonna lie, i was kinda disappointed cause the point of making videos is to get views and the max i got was like 30 views (half of them were me trying to fix the timestamps lol) but i was like "oh well" and moved on. 5 months past and towards the end of october, the video just started to pick up and getting lots of views. people were watching it/commenting/liking all that stuff (which was cool thanks). obviously a lot of you guys are here cause of one piece but being a one piece youtuber? it would be cool but it's oversaturated. i love one piece but i feel like i could make maybe 3 or 4 quality one piece vids before i run of things to talk about. if you guys have any feedback/criticism on how i could make better videos or what i should make videos on, it would greatly appreciated! tbh this boost in viewership is probably just a one time thing lol but its nice that it happened to the video i put the most time into. but yea i like making videos, it's fun !!
I'll agree with you that the One Piece youtube has been oversaturated. That's why you need to do something that's unique to you to get people coming back. There's plenty of new TH-cam channels that blew up because of One Piece and people keep coming back. Do what's passionate to you. Do you like doing skits or theory crafting or chapter reviewing or deep diving into lore or making tier lists or play the video games or play the trading card game or have unique reactions?
You have to be different and have unique takes. It is over saturated. Even the girls reactions are not that high anymore. Being a guy your on an uphill battle.
Im nearly caught up w the anime and i gotta say, i dont give a fuck what anyone ever says to me abt any other show. No matter what, for me personally, nothing beats one piece. I'll gladly watch anything good, but nothing will ever top the greatest story ever told
one piece is definitely one of the best things i have ever watched/read, might rewatch tbh. east blue saga is where most of the magic is for me. obviously, all of it is good but nothing beats early one piece

Brook has my favourite backstory.. and my favourite Strawhat is Sanji. I used to cringe at Luffy, but he grows on you.. Recently I found this TH-cam Series.. ''Mom reacts to One Piece Manga'' its this Mom/History Teacher that shares her thoughts on the Layers of story telling and world building she's stumbled on as she goes through the different arcs.. its wholesome af.. and I've found so much depth laced throughout the Story.. Oda has been cooking since 1997.. Absolute mad man.. I pray he writes a Victory Lap arc..

I started watching one piece on toonami back in 2013 when they were on the long ring long arc. A anime i had just finished was replaced by one piece and i decided to watch it. For that year i would watch it every Saturday night till the end of ennis lobby. I didn't have internet for most of my life till i started working. I was hooked and then one day i decide to go to the library at school instead of breakfast and when i walked in there they had a whole wall dedicated to manga and i spotted one piece, guess what they had all the volumes up till the end of punk hazard. Been a fan ever since 11 yrs now

Well It is a little more than that. Oda's editor said that he kind of needed another group around Sabaody. So Oda drew up the Supernovas on like a napkin or something. So they were kind of meant to be replacements of the Shishibukai. Then when Blackbeard was added, they were deemed the Worst Generation.

20:55 I agree! It is one arc (I think arc is the right word here) I don’t get why people split it. I think it’s because arcs are often island-based in One Piece, so it’s done by inertia, but from the storytelling point of view I think that Water 7 and Enies Lobby is one arc.

Example: The beginning of how you jumped around watching it all over the place, explaining your struggle to read the manga and what leaks are. The rest of the video was good to hear your opinions. Other than that, I'm glad you gave this series a chance. It's a beloved series and is as popular as it is for so many reasons. i was really nervous to make this video, especially about the length, but yea i was really trying to think of all the things i was feeling at the time, while trying not to forget anything. that's why it came out like that and i was also just trying to get the video out since i was working on it for like 2 months or something. when kuma was at sabaody when luffy punched charlos, i was like "he was there?" i always liked kuma ever since i saw him way back, nice that he got such a cool backstory
It took me 3 or 4 tries to get past syrup island w kuro and stuff i just kept getting bored and once i passed it i was like this is cool. Then it just got better and better. Sky island arc and his fight w enel set it in stone that i knew i was guna watch all 1000k episodes
I remember I kinda got peer pressured by the community saying skypiea was a boring arc and to skip it. I didn't skip it, but I was thinking about what they were saying while watching it. looking back at it, I really enjoyed it !
The death of ace hits different because he is really dead, he isn't half dead or something like pell, that you didn't see his corpse. He diedand that's that same thing with Whitebeard he was the first not flashback death in Onepiece and it was about in episode 550. I honestly like a lot more the post time-skip then the pre time-skip because of all the new power scaling, in the pre if you wanted to take down a logia you had to rely on luck, now everybody can do it, you don't need to eat a particular fruit, if you train hard enough you can. That and all the underling cleaning that had to be done in the pre while in the post there are lots of less underling thanks to conquerors. even in the raid on onigashima none of the strawhats were disturbed by underlings while in Arlong park zoro had to do all of it, in alabasta we have to run, in skypea we need that these 2 factions are at war and in triller bark it's basically 90% underlings The best moment where there is background music, the one I liked the most was wen we first heard the drums of liberation with the Overtaken in background and all the fight with teh constant reminder that now nika gets some fun and it made me laugh because yes the Wano ark is very sad, one disgrace after another, the little village were everybody ate the smiles, the death of Yasuie and Oden, the betrayal of I won't say who because it's a big big spoiler, and everything but now we don't tear up, we laugh I also leved pre time skip chopper a lot because he changed all the time between his 3 forms like if he had to run he did the walking point, if he had to stay with humans he used the human point and so on while in the post time skip he only uses his trasformation in the fight and only for the time to use the move, when he has to jump over the enemy he goes jumping point jumps, arms point to attack and then returns to brain instantly, it felt trown away all of his fun side of changing constantly Nah everyone gets attached to One Piece in differents moments, I watched lots of anime before One Piece, shonen and non, but One Piece clicked instantly, as soon as LuFFy shot out of the barrel I was anchored
Actually, there is speculation about Pell's revival. The chapter of the Pell's "death" came around 9/11. So maybe Oda didn't want a character dying from an explosion around the same time
51:18 i Enjoy Syrup Village a lot. Ussops determination to save the village is Why Luffy and Zoro help him. Luffys word to Kuro "You who three away yiur name could never beat me! Ussop is More of a Captain/Pirate than you!!!" cant rrmember pirate or captain.
The most valid criticism for Syrup village is that Kuro is hyped up to be a smart planner. But when his plan was revealed, it is a dumb plan from the start. His plan is to have the mansion and wealth to himself and LIVE A QUIET LIFE THERE. He could have hired a hitman and killed Kaya and Merry and pretend to mourn or something. Rather he chose to have "pirates" ravaging the island which does not make sense if he is undercover all along. Also attack Merry before the Pirate raid happens does not make sense as well. Another one is that many people does not really appreciate the "Boy who cried wolf" story as it was overused and does not hit that well to people. And Ussopp mom dying to a sickness is not tragic enough comparing to other backstories, no moment given for readers to care about Ussopp's mom how like we have moments shown to care about Bellemere or Zeff. In my opinion, these are valid reasons to not like the arc as much. Ofcourse there are good moments. But the plot itself is convuluted from the start.
on the dub, dont field weird for catching up with it. Its how i started the series too simply because it made it easier to digest. And with jinbe, im assuming the instances youre talking about are on whole cake island and its apparently because they forgot to apply a filter they use for his voice specifically so he sounded really high pitched in cases
i think a lot of reasons why people don't get into one piece is because they start with anime or just anime onlys. in my case, my older brother is a huge anime fan especially of the big 3, and i knew enough about naruto and bleach but always consistently avoided any one piece related stuff. but one day, he told me the live action was coming out and i really really liked the trailer so i decided to give it a go and consume the original before watching the LA. and boy was it the best decision of my life. i have never cried this often, this hard and just enjoyed a manga, i wish i could experience reading it for the first time again. after catching up with the manga, i started the anime and i could understand why people dropped it cz the pacing is so slow, and the art style (specifically post time skip fishman island, dressrosa, wci, NOT WANO AND EGGHEAD) were inconsistent, dare i say UGLY, and the animation were sometimes mediocre for a battle shonen (eventho it makes sense if ur animating like 800 episodes). so i think if u read it or if ur a reader in general, u would enjoy one piece a LOOOTTT more since u experience oda's writing and his original intentions without the anime alterations.
@Lad84139 I'm not sure how exactly he does it, but he'll make him mad and pewpiece will just wait longer to release leaks in retaliation. I said worldwide but I don't think it's Japan. Also, since leaking is illegal, my friend will also make empty threats to call the police on him if the chapter isn't good.

I personally prefer sub but I don't have a problem if peoples prefers dub (it sounds a little weird to me because I'm used with Japanese VA), everybody has the right to decide and choose what make the OP experience more fun for them.
ngl the other day i watched a lil bit of op dub and it sounded very weird, kinda bad if im being honest lol but i kept watching it and it sounded normal again. its was just jarring to hear dub after watching it in sub for some time now
I don't mean to "hate" 5 seconds into the video, so please just take this as feedback/advice you can completely ignore. Just putting "spoiler warning" at the beginning is pretty useless for me as a viewer, if you don't specify anything. I mean, yeah, obviously there will be _some_ spoilers if you are talking about anything. I don't need a warning for that. Instead I'd specify up to where in the story you're going to spoil at the very least (i.e. by giving an episode number), but preferably also the type of spoiler.
Yeah for some reason people say that the one piece dub is bad and say luffy dub voice is bad, I love the Dub of One piece and I find it crazy that people say the dub is bad. I've seen both the sub and dub and in my opinion I like Luffy English voice actor more then I do the sub
Your problem with jimbei's voice is probably because his original dub voice actor who i thought was perfect died or maybe just retired during whole cake

When you say "One Piece Dub" you need to clarify which dub. Because One Piece had multiple dubs. Which was why One Piece had bad dub and why a lot of people didn't get into One Piece until recently. Ironically I got into One Piece with the 4Kids Dub. But I also liked the funimation dub. Of course, to continue the story I watched the sub and loved it way more.

imma be honest that spoiler warning at the start of the video was last second decision lol, i just put that cause thats what other people do. the other day i looked at my video and i realized that i didn't specify what spoilers i was talking about, i just put "spoiler warning" oops, my fault. when i uploaded this video 5 months ago, the only people that watched it was me and my family and it was like that for couple months with a few more views here and there, but randomly at the end of october, the video started getting a lot more views! you're right though, i should go back and revise the video. i just never expected people to watch the video 5 months later, so i kinda forgot about it lol

They pour their soul and heart into it. Dub sounds like any other dub. I guess you just can’t connect in Japanese. I and many others can, so they can enjoy peak voice acting.

Youre missing most of the humor of one piece dude by watching the dub because it gets lost in translation. I was a dub person before but when i went sub i never returned to dub in one piece....try it.
Sorry, the OP dub is terrible. Most dubs are, but especially OP. Character voices have a totally different feel. Plus the Japanese voice acting industry is way more competitive and thus more talented actors rise to the top. You really notice it in the peak emotional scenes. Sub should always be the default. I’m not trying to be elitist, its just how it is.

nah i saw that it was filler, so i skipped it but then a couple months past and i watched a clip of the G-8 arc with usopp and robin on youtube and thought it was pretty funny. i should go back and watch it since there's a big break on the anime right now
i mean the one piece live action is pretty good compared to other anime live actions. this was the first time i heard a positive response for a live action, it's usually negative
but the one piece dub is really good though i remember when i watched, the dub ended right before gear 4 reveal so i had to continue in sub , i would say lot of anime sound and express better in sub but one piece dub is really well made. Also i think whatever language feels right to watch is ok , it’s not like you are bound to restrictions.
@ Luffy’s voice in dub is horrible he literally sound like ash kethchum. Zoro’s voice is not even close to being as good as the sub. Luffy’s voice actor in sub is literally an icon and her voice acting god tier no one in dub comes close. She makes luffy, luffy idk how else to say it she embodies him the best.

Well It is a little more than that. Oda's editor said that he kind of needed another group around Sabaody. So Oda drew up the Supernovas on like a napkin or something. So they were kind of meant to be replacements of the Shishibukai. Then when Blackbeard was added, they were deemed the Worst Generation.
Agenda Piece was probably one of the funniest things I was introduced to through One Piece, the only reason I remember Vista is because of all the Mihawk slander. It also made me start watching the "Reverie" where all the youtubers come together to talk/fight about their characters. I can't unhear Fraudhawk, Rat Haired Shanks, Captain Useless Mid, Trafailgar Water Flaw, Nosmoke Runji, Oden lend me your Haki this is base Lucci we're up against

I think Dresrosa, Wholecake and Wano are really good arcs but peoples downgrade them because of the pacing issues, even so they are in my top 7 arcs.

Other than that, I'm glad you gave this series a chance. It's a beloved series and is as popular as it is for so many reasons. What's crazy is when you revisit certain moments and see how many seeds Oda planted for later revelations as well as how he effortlessly recontextualizes previous moments. Enjoy Nakama!

It took me 3 or 4 tries to get past syrup island w kuro and stuff i just kept getting bored and once i passed it i was like this is cool. Then it just got better and better. Sky island arc and his fight w enel set it in stone that i knew i was guna watch all 1000k episodes
I remember I kinda got peer pressured by the community saying skypiea was a boring arc and to skip it. I didn't skip it, but I was thinking about what they were saying while watching it. looking back at it, I really enjoyed it !
The death of ace hits different because he is really dead, he isn't half dead or something like pell, that you didn't see his corpse. He diedand that's that same thing with Whitebeard he was the first not flashback death in Onepiece and it was about in episode 550.
I honestly like a lot more the post time-skip then the pre time-skip because of all the new power scaling, in the pre if you wanted to take down a logia you had to rely on luck, now everybody can do it, you don't need to eat a particular fruit, if you train hard enough you can. That and all the underling cleaning that had to be done in the pre while in the post there are lots of less underling thanks to conquerors. even in the raid on onigashima none of the strawhats were disturbed by underlings while in Arlong park zoro had to do all of it, in alabasta we have to run, in skypea we need that these 2 factions are at war and in triller bark it's basically 90% underlings
The best moment where there is background music, the one I liked the most was wen we first heard the drums of liberation with the Overtaken in background and all the fight with teh constant reminder that now nika gets some fun and it made me laugh because yes the Wano ark is very sad, one disgrace after another, the little village were everybody ate the smiles, the death of Yasuie and Oden, the betrayal of I won't say who because it's a big big spoiler, and everything but now we don't tear up, we laugh
I also leved pre time skip chopper a lot because he changed all the time between his 3 forms like if he had to run he did the walking point, if he had to stay with humans he used the human point and so on while in the post time skip he only uses his trasformation in the fight and only for the time to use the move, when he has to jump over the enemy he goes jumping point jumps, arms point to attack and then returns to brain instantly, it felt trown away all of his fun side of changing constantly
Nah everyone gets attached to One Piece in differents moments, I watched lots of anime before One Piece, shonen and non, but One Piece clicked instantly, as soon as LuFFy shot out of the barrel I was anchored

Actually, there is speculation about Pell's revival. The chapter of the Pell's "death" came around 9/11. So maybe Oda didn't want a character dying from an explosion around the same time

51:18 i Enjoy Syrup Village a lot. Ussops determination to save the village is Why Luffy and Zoro help him. Luffys word to Kuro "You who three away yiur name could never beat me! Ussop is More of a Captain/Pirate than you!!!" cant rrmember pirate or captain.
The most valid criticism for Syrup village is that Kuro is hyped up to be a smart planner. But when his plan was revealed, it is a dumb plan from the start.
His plan is to have the mansion and wealth to himself and LIVE A QUIET LIFE THERE. He could have hired a hitman and killed Kaya and Merry and pretend to mourn or something. Rather he chose to have "pirates" ravaging the island which does not make sense if he is undercover all along. Also attack Merry before the Pirate raid happens does not make sense as well.
Another one is that many people does not really appreciate the "Boy who cried wolf" story as it was overused and does not hit that well to people. And Ussopp mom dying to a sickness is not tragic enough comparing to other backstories, no moment given for readers to care about Ussopp's mom how like we have moments shown to care about Bellemere or Zeff.
In my opinion, these are valid reasons to not like the arc as much. Ofcourse there are good moments. But the plot itself is convuluted from the start.
TLDR; Bad characterization for the Villain, not as much compelling backstory for Ussopp.

on the dub, dont field weird for catching up with it. Its how i started the series too simply because it made it easier to digest. And with jinbe, im assuming the instances youre talking about are on whole cake island and its apparently because they forgot to apply a filter they use for his voice specifically so he sounded really high pitched in cases

i think a lot of reasons why people don't get into one piece is because they start with anime or just anime onlys. in my case, my older brother is a huge anime fan especially of the big 3, and i knew enough about naruto and bleach but always consistently avoided any one piece related stuff. but one day, he told me the live action was coming out and i really really liked the trailer so i decided to give it a go and consume the original before watching the LA. and boy was it the best decision of my life. i have never cried this often, this hard and just enjoyed a manga, i wish i could experience reading it for the first time again.
after catching up with the manga, i started the anime and i could understand why people dropped it cz the pacing is so slow, and the art style (specifically post time skip fishman island, dressrosa, wci, NOT WANO AND EGGHEAD) were inconsistent, dare i say UGLY, and the animation were sometimes mediocre for a battle shonen (eventho it makes sense if ur animating like 800 episodes). so i think if u read it or if ur a reader in general, u would enjoy one piece a LOOOTTT more since u experience oda's writing and his original intentions without the anime alterations.

Also, since leaking is illegal, my friend will also make empty threats to call the police on him if the chapter isn't good.

I personally prefer sub but I don't have a problem if peoples prefers dub (it sounds a little weird to me because I'm used with Japanese VA), everybody has the right to decide and choose what make the OP experience more fun for them.
ngl the other day i watched a lil bit of op dub and it sounded very weird, kinda bad if im being honest lol but i kept watching it and it sounded normal again. its was just jarring to hear dub after watching it in sub for some time now

I disagree. It's extremely cringe and hard to listen to. The Japanese cast is legendary in every aspect. Mayumi Tanaka is unmatched as Luffy. I encourage every person to listen to the Japanese.

When you say "One Piece Dub" you need to clarify which dub. Because One Piece had multiple dubs. Which was why One Piece had bad dub and why a lot of people didn't get into One Piece until recently. Ironically I got into One Piece with the 4Kids Dub. But I also liked the funimation dub. Of course, to continue the story I watched the sub and loved it way more.

At the start instead of just putting “spoiler warning”, I’d recommend u write the chapter for anime onlys (like me currently) or episode number and, although it’s a bit more work, please warn before you mention a spoiler so i can skip and continue watching 😭
imma be honest that spoiler warning at the start of the video was last second decision lol, i just put that cause thats what other people do. the other day i looked at my video and i realized that i didn't specify what spoilers i was talking about, i just put "spoiler warning" oops, my fault. when i uploaded this video 5 months ago, the only people that watched it was me and my family and it was like that for couple months with a few more views here and there, but randomly at the end of october, the video started getting a lot more views! you're right though, i should go back and revise the video. i just never expected people to watch the video 5 months later, so i kinda forgot about it lol

@ i have heard enough of it to form an opinion. They’re annoying and way too goofy to be taken seriously in almost any situation. It’s poor quality compared to the sub. They pour their soul and heart into it. Dub sounds like any other dub. I guess you just can’t connect in Japanese. I and many others can, so they can enjoy peak voice acting.
I think the voice acting is better in Japanese too but I could just be making that up because I can't understand japanese lol. I watch sub. I just like it better.

Youre missing most of the humor of one piece dude by watching the dub because it gets lost in translation. I was a dub person before but when i went sub i never returned to dub in one piece....try it.
Sorry, the OP dub is terrible. Most dubs are, but especially OP. Character voices have a totally different feel. Plus the Japanese voice acting industry is way more competitive and thus more talented actors rise to the top. You really notice it in the peak emotional scenes. Sub should always be the default. I’m not trying to be elitist, its just how it is.

but the one piece dub is really good though i remember when i watched, the dub ended right before gear 4 reveal so i had to continue in sub , i would say lot of anime sound and express better in sub but one piece dub is really well made. Also i think whatever language feels right to watch is ok , it’s not like you are bound to restrictions.
@ Luffy’s voice in dub is horrible he literally sound like ash kethchum. Zoro’s voice is not even close to being as good as the sub. Luffy’s voice actor in sub is literally an icon and her voice acting god tier no one in dub comes close. She makes luffy, luffy idk how else to say it she embodies him the best.
