    I have been able to run a similar M110 out to 1150 yards and every time I get a chance to use it I take it. Truly amazing performance with great reliability to boot. I personally appreciate its ability to shoot M80 ball at minute of man accuracy out to 800 yards. You never fail to put our videos that peak my interest. Keep up the same kind of excellent content.

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica

      You know that's something I hadn't thought of...... how far can I reliably connect with M80 ball. That might be something I try to work into a future video!

    Glad to see you putting some rounds through that thing! A lot more consistency at 1100+ out of that setup and the 175s than internet snipers like to give credit. I love all of the latest and greatest long range focused bullets and cartridges available to shooters, but I'll always have a soft spot for .308. Love seeing you out there proving that the right shooter with the right loads and equipment can get stuff done with tried and true stuff like an m110 in .308.

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica
      @MountainsMulletsMerica  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could agree more! The fancy new stuff is fun and makes distance shooting easier but there is just something about 308 that’s old school cool. I filmed this video immediately following shooting content with a 6.5CM. Took me a couple rounds to get used to the noticeably greater wind holds out of the mk11 haha

      @@MountainsMulletsMerica I just subbed to your channel today. This is the 1st video I'm watching. What scope are you using here? What are the other 2 things attach to scope? How did you film the shooting?

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica

      @@GaHullbillyRanch Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and support the channel! The tan rectangle on top of the scope is a wilcox raptar which is a laser range finder/ IR unit for use with night vision. I used a tactacam film through scope setup to give the view through the scope while shooting and I suspect this is the second thing attached to the scope you are referring too. Stay tuned for more as I plan to create a ton of content just like this in 2023!

    Took my ar10 out to the rock lake range saturday and shot some 178 eldms. 1200 yards was as easy with those as my 300wm. If you havent tried those out. It's worth trying. Been using 175 smks for so long and tried those and it was hard to miss.

    I need to quit being so hard on my gas guns accuracy. It's a solid 1moa performer with me behind it so in all actuality it's probably a better shooter than that.
    I can see from this and your other sr-25 videos that 1moa is plenty capable on average size targets to practical distances.
    Really enjoy the gas gun stuff. Keep it coming.

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica
      @MountainsMulletsMerica  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man it’s super easy to get frustrated with gas gun accuracy. While many gas guns are capable of great accuracy, they are tough to shoot. Through the years I’ve accepted the fact that “it is what it is” and I’m happy with accuracy in the 1-1.25moa range. As you can see, that level accuracy will get you hits on practical targets through the effective distance of the caliber. Stay tuned as I love gas guns so I’ve got plenty more content in the works! Thanks for watching!

    I am not surprised at what you gun will do. I have one of the original SR-25's with the 24 inch bbl. I wrote up an article "Loading for the Stoner sr-25" that can be seen on the internet. My gun shoots sub MOA at 100. The Sierra 175 tipped bullets did 8 inches at 1000 yards three shots. I am temped to try the Vapor Valley bullets. The IMI brass produced the most accurate loads.

Seems to have pretty good out of the box accuracy but needing to make some performance changes to it. Does not come free floated. Looking for a handguard that fits this system. My next loads are going to be the 169 g SMK. They have a good BC which rivals the 6.5 bullets so we will see. Thanks for the videos. Very informative

I’ve been playing with the 178 eldm and bthp as well as the 185 juggernaut as higher bc options. Things would be so much more fun if we could just skip load development and go straight to long range steel haha

    How many acres are you shooting on? What is the smallest amount to shoot out to a mile? Obviously shape of the plot comes into play. Just not too much info on the subject.

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica
      @MountainsMulletsMerica  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to give you a great answer here as the ground I shoot on isn't mine and I've never taken the time to measure out a plot for shooting a mile. I'd estimate the plot I'm currently using to make videos is a couple thousand acres, but outside of this particular piece there is literally nothing for miles around. In my opinion the question on what's the minimum amount to shoot a ground is dependent on a lot of factors, primarily what's the shape of the plot and what do you have potentially beyond your target.

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica
      @MountainsMulletsMerica  ปีที่แล้ว

      Can’t say I’m that familiar with arken scopes but ultimately it’ll depend on how much internal elevation the scope has and how far you want to shoot. I run 0 moa bases on all my rigs. The setup in this video is 13-14 mils to 1100 and my NF has been able to do that just fine with a 0 moa base. That said, really nothing wrong with choosing a 20 moa base I just suspect it’s not really needed unless you’re trying to push crazy far.

    Howdy.... I built a solid semiautomatic DMR using Aero m5 upper & Lower and a heavy 18" Bartlein barrel... the thing is a tank... I'm using an Atlas Bipod, but I'm considering an Accu tac... I don't really need a new bipod, but, I've got so much money in this thing with the Geissele trigger and JP enterprises fmos bcg that a few more hundred won't be too hard to stomach... but, only if the accu tac is significantly better...
    What do you think?
    And, what model do you have??... Is that the PC-5 model?

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica
      @MountainsMulletsMerica  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh man, sounds like you've got yourself an awesome precision autoloader! My preference is Accu-tac..... I've owned 2 atlas bipods in the past and broke both of them so I no longer run their bipods. I've had great luck with my current 2 accu-tacs and I'm currently thinking of adding another to my collection. The bipod on this rifle is the WB-5. Thanks for watching!

    • @Solidbuilthomes
      @Solidbuilthomes ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mountains, Mullets, Merica! do you wish the WB model had panning, or is that not a feature you really use much?? The PC and FC models pan, but I feel the PC won't be wide enough to reap the benefits of the wide body design whereas the FC is insanely wide, but seems impractical as an all around bipod... so, if panning seems to be an unnecessary feature, I'll go with the WB, but, if panning is a good feature, then I have to decide between the FC and PC.... I definitely want wide, but I want it to be somewhat portable/ maneuverable.... and I think panning could be important in an extreme tactical situation.. but, more than likely, I'll never be in that situation.. WB?? The PC model just doesn't look wide enough for the deep width and stability I want... FC just seems too bulky to hump around. WB probably... any insight from your end would be greatly appreciated 🤙🤙

      You know I haven’t run anything other than 175smk, 178 eldm, 178 Hornady bthp and the 185 Berger juggernaut through the rifle. I have wondered how it would perform with M80 ball though. Maybe that’ll be something I can revisit down the road. Stay tuned!

    How much easier would you say it is to hit a 1000 yard target with a 6.5cm ar10 vs a 308 ar10? Thanks

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica
      @MountainsMulletsMerica  ปีที่แล้ว

      A bit hard to quantify this but I’d say the 6.5cm is “noticeably easier” to make hits at 1000yds vs 308. I’m actually planning a 6.5cm vs 308 AR video just as soon as I can get it put together so stay tuned and I’ll give you all kinds of detailed info haha

    Why don’t you use a suppressor cover for heat?

    • @MountainsMulletsMerica
      @MountainsMulletsMerica  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've run suppressor covers in the past and quit using them for a couple of reasons. There is usually enough air movement when I shoot that the mirage off the can doesn't bother me, I'm also typically not firing long enough strings to get much heat mirage anyway, and in my previous experience suppressor covers are only slightly better than uncovered..... you get a suppressor cover hot enough and you'll still get mirage in front of the scope.

    Do sr25 come in 18" barrel?

      I’m sure they have at some point through the years but I can’t think of a specific model at the moment. Most of the ones I can think of are 14.5”, 16”, 20”, 24” for 308.
