During the shutdown of our churches during the virus we watched the Bishop's Sunday masses on the internet.... and loved them. So much so that now that we have been back in Sunday mass for a while now, we still listen to this Sunday sermon, and I hope the Bishop never stops doing this homily. Two Sundays ago my son asked after watching the Bishop if I thought he, the Bishop, ould every be Pope.... I dont know son I said, I am not sure they think of Americans that way... I asked what he thought. He said, he sure hoped so! Well to be honest... i do too! Thank you Bishop... for connecting my son that way.
Wonderful reminder of the teachings of our Catholic Church. ‘Out of empathy, focus on the weakest in our society’. Aliens ( undocumented immigrants), widows, orphans, those who need financial help. Treating those and each other with empathy instead of stoking divisiveness is the only path to healing. God Bless all the people who are marginalized.
Great homily. The philosophy of Nietzsche prevails today in America from the highest rank: good is evil, evil is good, mercy is slave morality, and the will to power is man's destiny. But God calls us to a life of love, sacrifice and mercy, to exercise forbearance of others for we are all sinners and sojourn in a strange land. Thank you to call us in a different direction.
Dr Jordan Peterson wrote 12 Rules which is brilliant. He states that Catholicism is the closest thing to sanity that there is! In part because of the Laws!

Beautiful and inspiring sermon. Bishop Barron your sermons are lessons in theology and philosophy. In a Church which has already lost so many of its members, and over half of those remaining do not believe in real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist, it is imperative to have teachers like you. So many precious opportunities to teach, to explain, and to strengthen the faith of our Church, particularly our youth, are wasted with countless political/bias non-informative homilies. So many Catholics attend Mass every Sunday and follow all the Church’s teachings and rules (rightly so) but do not have “empathy with the suffering of others” and have a heart that is filled with hate. Excellent: Title perhaps alluding to, and in some sense rebutting, Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules for life. However; in my view these two standpoints should not be put in direct conflict with each other. Peterson really majors on us doing the very best we can and taking personal responsibility for ourselves and focuses on the issues through a psychoanalytical lens. This is not wrong, it is just not complete. It is the Nature part of the Nature/Grace debate. When God’s Grace fully appears through Jesus the Christ and is sealed in us (personally) by the indwelling of His Holy Spirit something else, something eternal has happened, as is then evidenced by the spiritual fruit that we produce above and beyond the natural ability of any of us to change ourselves; a new nature, a new life, rebirth, born again, or to use Catholic terminology regeneration. Praise God for this free gift and the hope eternal HE guarantees by it. Amen
Thanx for clarifying a question I've always had. The moral/ethical part of law makes perfect sense but I'm "tone-deaf" about other areas (ceremonial, ritual, etc.). Until hearing this I wasn't sure whether or not that makes me some kind of heathen.
Bishop. You can unpack the scriptures best.14 minutes of how we can live for Jesus the Christ. Thank You,these words seem so weak to express my gratitude, however...🌹
I am in the process of reading through the whole bible cover to cover, and I finally made it through Leviticus; dang that book is dense. I would say that chapter 26 is my favorite because it serves as a context for everything good and bad that will happen to the Israelites in the OT and still applies to us in a spiritual sense.
‘And with your spirit’ Thank you bishop for another, as always, insightful sermon. Question to whom ever can answer, what is the difference between homily and sermon? I had thought ‘sermon’ is a non-catholic referrence, as to what (catholic) homilies are to us. I see bishop Barron’s Sunday ‘talks’ are listed as sermons?

Dear Bishop I am a regular listener to your videos. Looking for a talk on recent Civil Union for the rainbow community. How do we reason with those who are babies and weak in the Catholic Faith? We are praying to the Holy Spirit for divine wisdom and holy understanding.
Thank God for Bishop Barron....AT LAST! we have a way out of the blandness, relativism, reductionism, and poor catechesis of the 70s and its sad results still so obvious today....
Bishop Baron, would you please talk about the Pope's position on same sex civil union. Wouldn't Ephesians 4:32-5:8 emphatically contradict what it appears he is saying?
‘Crack open your bibles...!’ Thank you Bishop Barron again. I would like to see you wearing a ceremonial turban. But seriously a brilliant conscience touching sermon.
To further comment on the remarks of the clergyman who questions Bishop Barron. Until this comment questioning what God needs from us and told nothing has always raised some questions in my mind. Doesn't God need me to love Him ? Then why should I? How can I believe that He loves me when He doesn't seem to need me. With due respect to the Bishop & his bromance with Aquinas @ the end of his life he remained silent and thought that everything he'd written was straw. He was now entering eternity. John Francis ofs.
The comments are interestings and expected. Many love generalities but the application to one personally, not so much. It reminds me of golf. Many love the competition, traditions and austere rules until they are told to tuck in their collared shirt into non-jean trousers or they take a penalty stroke for "gardening" during a round. The law is good, righteous and just but we are its weakness and why keeping to be saved will leave us lost.
rules for life? the first rule is life! your excelency, it is time for the shepherd to confron the wolves, headon! your worldly eminence is needed now more than ever to unequivocate on this. time to spend some of that secular and sacred equity you mave amassed before none of us are safe.
From the time of Justin Martyr (AD 100-165), the Church was always called the TRUE ISRAEL (VERUS ISRAEL) the "reality" vs the Old Testament "shadow", not the "NEW ISRAEL" which implies a replacement theology rather than a hermeneutic of continuity (Ratzinger).
For those with same sex attraction who are striving to live in accordance with the Catholic church's teaching and feel betrayed and abandoned by the silence of the majority of our pastors in response to the scandal caused by the Pope's remarks and the various interpretations of those remarks, please read the encouraging message from Father Bochanski, the executive director of Courage International, on the Courage website to the apostolate. Courage is a Roman Catholic apostolate to those living with same-sex attraction who wish to live accordance with the Catholic Church's teaching as set forth the catechism.
What a wonderful homily thank you for teaching us about Thomas Aquinas but there is a contradiction concerning the Pope’s words that you referenced and his actions. He doesn’t live according to his words. Case and point in my country Peru a third world country with massive poverty. In order for the pope to visit and speak, the Peruvian people had to Pay 30 million. Is this not a form of exploitation of the poor, as most of it came out of the taxes of the peolple. ? Money that could’ve been used to help the poor? 🤔
You may not know it but you are one of my Spiritual Teacher, sadly, you came up short today, please correct me if I am wrong. Of the Moral Laws you have explained why did you not include "Thou Shalt Not Kill'? is ABORTION not important? is murder/killing less important than usury? Was it Motherless Babies oprphanage? Please send me the proper name and Iwill happily and willingly make a donation. Thank you Boshop Barron.
Hear this, fellow Christ followers. This does not apply to clergy; Enough with thinking about what denomination you "are". Why do you think it's a good idea to choose a denomination, believe everything from that denomination, and shut your eyes and ears to all other denominations? You want to be a part of a group and have a group identity, that is normal. But what does it even mean in reality to say you "are" a Catholic? That you believe what Catholicism says. But also that you reject that which contradicts Catholicism. And is that smart? You don't need to close yourself in a box by saying you "are" a Lutherin or a Protestant. The only thing that matters what you "are" is that you are a person who is following Christ and believe in Him. You'd be better off learning from all denominations and let it go in one ear and out the other, without "deciding" what is correct and incorrect. You would gain more understanding by learning more. But God isn't going to choose who goes to Heaven based on what title they call themselves. It is based on His Judgment of you as an individual! The Creed you join does not save you. Each Creed offers treasures, take from them all and that way your vision will be too broad to be lead down the wrong path.

Gracias. Paz y Bien. Excelente exposición y doctrina, muy en la actualidad y en la Biblia que es "siempre". Gracias. Me quedo con esta homilía, la copio. Gracias. Bendiciones para toda la Iglesia, para la Humanidad.

That was awesome bishop Barron
Thank you Bishop Barron for your witnessing to what God wants from us and for us and how Jesus affirmed and fullfilled the laws of The Father God! God Bless you!
Thanks for, all the Sunday sermons. So grateful to hear that Jesus abrogated many of the ritual uncleaness. Leviticus 12 seems to me to have placed women as unclean and inferior to men and caused men to thank God for being men. A problem through the ages and lasting still today?
Praise be to you Lord Jesus Christ for giving us Bishop Barron. Who teaches us the way of Christ Jesus. Amen.
Dear Bishop Barron,
If you really mean that I should make a donation to Motherless Foundation in Kebbi, Nigeria, please sent me some more details. Their address, person to contact and etc. I tried to look online but nobody in that specific name that you mentioned. I am unable to contact them by phone. If you have their email address or Facebook, I will be delighted to make a donation. Thank you Bishop Barron.
Thank you Bishop. The right words at the right time! Empathy against pharisaen finger pointing attitudes nowadays amoung many calling themselves Christians. They emphasize the ritual laws before the core message Jesus has taught when explaining the scriptures to the folks. Jesus had an open heart and no narrow view on humans.
Fabulous Bishop Baron.
Thank God for YOU, Bishop Barron!
Thank you and blessings 🙏🏼
God bless you, Bishop, for mentioning the works of Spiritual care! I'm so grateful for Missionary work, and my fellow Students and Sisters in Christ who also volunteer in the Midwest Cities!
Amen💞

Love you Bishop Barron. God Bless You.

Wow . . . Lots to reflect upon this week! Thank you, Bishop Barron.
Thank you Rev.Bishop. I enjoy listening to you and feel challenged .
Good morning Bishop Barron. Thank you for this inspiring and insightful message. I for once tried to stop doing 15 things at once and just sat and listened to you here. I pray that it seeps into my heart and soul and takes root there. Thank you, JV Johnny

Excellent:
Title perhaps alluding to, and in some sense rebutting, Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules for life.
Exactly from 8:41 I felt the holyspirit had entered into Bishop Barron at that specific time.
brilliant as always!!!
What do you think about John 3:3?
John 3:5.
@@killianmiller6107 What? Are you talking about baptism?

‘And with your spirit’ Thank you bishop for another, as always, insightful sermon.
Question to whom ever can answer, what is the difference between homily and sermon? I had thought ‘sermon’ is a non-catholic referrence, as to what (catholic) homilies are to us. I see bishop Barron’s Sunday ‘talks’ are listed as sermons?
THE CHURCH is the butterfly that sprang forth from the provisional cocoon of Old Testament ISRAEL as the TRUE ISRAEL, i.e. TRUE BREAD FROM HEAVEN, TRUE ISRAELITE, TRULY FREE.
Like the signs of Transit? 😇😇😇👼🔥☄️🕊️
Another reason we are not adherent to the Jewish traditions of law is that Jesus came to fulfill the law. Correct?

Dear Bishop I am a regular listener to your videos. Looking for a talk on recent Civil Union for the rainbow community. How do we reason with those who are babies and weak in the Catholic Faith? We are praying to the Holy Spirit for divine wisdom and holy understanding.
Thank God for Bishop Barron....AT LAST! we have a way out of the blandness, relativism, reductionism, and poor catechesis of the 70s and its sad results still so obvious today....
Tom Holland’s thesis of the book Dominion is in this message too
Bishop Baron, would you please talk about the Pope's position on same sex civil union.
I missed the actual Exodus scripture passage he is using
EX 22:20-26
I am Canadian, I could not vote for Trump even if I wanted, but this is one important lesson you could have teach us, your millions of followers all over the world!
He has spoken about abortion many times. He was mentioning usury today because that was in the first reading for this Sunday, the reading he was preaching on today. God bless.
Your Excellency Bishop Barron,
I have accidently deleted your reply to my comment. In that you asked me specifically, to make a donation to some orphanage in Nigeria. Was it Motherless Babies oprphanage? Please send me the proper name and Iwill happily and willingly make a donation. Thank you Boshop Barron.
That’s a fake account just ignore it
Hear this, fellow Christ followers. This does not apply to clergy;
Enough with thinking about what denomination you "are".
Like the soap for the body!
