    Each background is beautiful and anything you added just pops it up even more. Your save was very cleverly done. I need to make better use of my stash by using more than one on a card. Truly excellent video, Justine. Thank you sooo much. 🥰🇨🇦💕

    I am watching your video and noticed a ring on your left hand that I do not remember seeing in the past.... if this ring has a significant meaning and is new - congratulations. Now for the card backgrounds - thank you this video came on the right day to motivate me to make my June birthday cards. :) Hope your new pup is doing well.

    Love your techniques! Especially the 1/2" rainbow card stock strips and how you attached them to the card by spreading glue on card then attaching the strips and trimming them down. Smart!! I have so many little strips of rainbow colored cardstock that I just had to try this tonight. I use my cloud stencil a lot to make backgrounds. Keep these tips coming, I'm always eager to learn more. :)

    I love all the ideas!!! You always have great easy ideas. I love the pattern paper card. Could you do more videos on using up pattern paper? I have tons of it. Also on the second card, when you laid down the big negative piece of scrap black cardstock next to the card, the negative of whatever you had die cut looks like Pikachu.

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha it was pikachu. I made a card for one of my students. I really don’t own a lot of patterned paper for throw specific reason but I’ll put it on my list of possible video ideas

    Love all the great tips! I'm going to look through your other videos to see if you have any specific to Hot Foiling. I've had My Spellbinders Hot Foil Machine for months and haven't even tried anything yet. I haven't found a video that really explains how to get the look you want. I have a Bigshot and I've heard I will have to find the right amount of shims for My machine as they are all different. I've seen some that the Die used for Foiling wasn't supposed to cut the Die but on Other comments, it did cut it and shouldn't have. I've got some beautiful Hot Foil plates, one is a Hummingbird that I know what I'd like it to look like but I'm afraid of it cutting it out of My card base when I want to have it on the Base. If this makes sense to you. But I would love to see a video of Hot Foil if you've not done one with specific directions. Thanks for sharing your creativity once again!
    BTW, I love the clouds! I have a Hot air balloon stamp set and dies and that would make it look fantastic! ♥️👍

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would recommend Yana Smakulas channel. She designs monthly kits for the machine and uses it often. I don’t use it too much. I did a video in the past but I didn’t feature how to get the plates in an exact space because I didn’t know you could attach them with washi like I did in this video. I think the big shot should be fine, just run it through using the plates the machine provides and nothing from the big shot. In the end the die cutting machine is just supposed to add pressure so the foil really gets in there. If you’re scared to try it, just use some scrap paper first.

      Thanks for the info and name to watch. I really love the effects it adds to your Card's. I do a lot of Embossing powder to get the Effect but I have some really beautiful plates to use so I really want to learn how to do it right. I've been told to spend a day just playing with it, without any expectation. Probably what it's going to take. Thanks again!

    One question though if you don't have these fancy supplies how do you create these fancy backgrounds for the cards? I like creating cards but don't have these supplies available in my country. Are there other methods to do this type of backgrounds?

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My channel is based on a very niche industry unfortunately. If you don’t have supplies like this, you could get creative with paint

    TIP-if u mess up w/Nuvo drops, LET THEM DRY, then use a blade to lift it up and then redo the drop in its place. Done this many many times😂

    What is the cover plate die
    that you used?

  • @audreymeyer2266
    @audreymeyer2266 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wonderful ideas! One quick question, how do you keep your Gemini cutting plate so flat?

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I rotate it each time and flip it around. I’ve gone through maybe three sets or so in the 2 years that I’ve had it.

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh and I also only cut on the same one each time, the bottom one stays with no cuts until it’s time to switch out the top plate

    • @audreymeyer2266
      @audreymeyer2266 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justine Hovey Thanks, I’ve tried this however may need to be more focused on my rotation!

  • @laurabuehler
    @laurabuehler 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great cards as always. FYI, that tool is not a tongs. When you close the pincers it becomes magnetized and you touch the bottom to your metal die. When you get it to a heat safe surface, you open in pincers and it demagnetizes and the die falls off, hopefully landing on your heat-safe surface.

    I want to hear about your puppy! How old is he/she? What breed..Newfoundland? How big will she get? And by the way have really enjoyed this youtube! Especially the patterned paper one... I have heaps and almost never use them...

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She is a Landseer Newfoundland dog. She’s 12 weeks tomorrow. She will be about 115-120 lbs - I’m glad you liked the video

    • @fionnawheatley9095
      @fionnawheatley9095 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justine Hovey 60kg? Not too big then... we don’t see too many of them in Perth, as they don’t tend to cope with the heat too well. Are you allowed to walk her yet? Vaccinations are at 12 weeks in Australia and we are not supposed to walk until then. My dad was a vet and I grew up with all kinds of animals including the ubiquitous kangaroo Joey and I miss having a dog, but my youngest was bitten by a boxer ( at a kids park) and is petrified of dogs. We’ve been doing therapy and now at least he doesn’t climb me like a tree when he sees a dog...
