Top quality video as expected. 2 things that make this one standout. #1 is a Toyota travelling with a Jeep. I drive a Jeep and my overlanding buddy drives an FJ, we get the strangest looks sometimes, it's like they have seen a lion and gazelle playing together in the wild. Overlanding is about the journey, it doesn't matter what you drive. Thanks for showing that. #2 is that you take these trips with your family. Being able to show your children the outdoors and respect for it is one of the things I cherish teaching mine the most and you are a fine example of how to do that. Keep doing what you do and maybe more will understand and follow the example.
I love watching your channel! I just got a 4Runner for my 50th, I call it my midlife crisis😆 I had one in my 20's and we just bought my daughter a 2006 model and I just had to have one again, nothing like them!! Loved seeing your kids camping, even when they are sad! Beautiful countryside, thanks for sharing.
Hey Jason, thanks for the mention in the video again. This is Josh from Scenic City Overland. Great videos you're doing. I'm really enjoying them. Can't wait for the next one to see how much of the route you completed that I sent you. 👍🏻👍🏻
i dont usually comment and this is the first video of you that i watch, i really liked your video, really good quality and good vibes. you sir, have a new subscriber
Mike Sweers, Chief engineer of the Taco and Tundra stated that the reason why they made the hood scoop nonfunctional was because when they tested the actual vented hood scoop, it created a vacuum in the engine bay thus not circulating the air appropriately.
This is awesome. I am getting a 4runner trd within the next year or so and hope to engulf myself in a lifestyle like this, minus the kids though - None for me yet ! lol Watching your adventures is entertaining, exciting, and educational for me all at the same time. Keep them coming my man
Been a subscriber since vlog8 or so, and I have to say I really enjoy watching the videos from your channel. You do a great job putting them together! I have a 4Runner TEP, that I love taking into the Rocky mountains. Keep up the awesome content!
Jason, I stopped by your campsite a few times in hopes to catch a pic with ya and buy some swag but you were always gone to a class. I think the guy from foxpeditions felt sorry for me so he hooked me up with a cool patch! The expo was great and we had a blast!
I enjoy the videos. Very cool the family's included. I was wondering if airing down the trailer tires would have a negative effect on getting through something. On a vehicle it gets more traction with lower psi but in my mind it would make more drag on your 4runner pulling the trailer as it gets more traction. But it could also have a positive effect buy keeping the trailer from sliding sideways on a slippery trail. So just got me thinking. Cool videos. One day you need to organize a met and greet for the panhandle area people. I need to get out and explore around destin but never do.
Really enjoy your vlog. The time it must take you to set up your camera, shoot a scene, run back and get it and get back on the trails is crazy. Awesome content, keep producing it. Hoping one day to get into over landing when my son gets out of the baby stage. I’ve spent way too much time watching TH-cam videos of this stuff the last few years. Any good recommendations or sources in the north alabama area? Keep of the good work. Would like to see a quick video on you video equipment and editing process one day.
Fun videos guys! Keep it up. I saw the license plate, I live a little north of Orlando, but other than the Ocala natl. Forest, where are you guys finding trails in FL? The other guy mentioned FL having some fun areas?
Hi Jason, what was that propane "campfire" you were using at the end. We have burn bans pretty frequently in the summer but they allow propane fueled campfires. I've seen people with propane fueled firepits from Costco out in the middle of the woods. The version you were using looked more compact!
Haha as soon as the vid started I was like "must be Helen". I loved my stay at Unicoi it's one of the prettiest SP i've ever seen with super nice staff
4:35mark, the gimbal issue has happened to me, so annoying. Mine may have gotten sand in the motor, used a can of air to blow it out, but very frustrating.
Hey Jason! I think I've been subbed to your channel since Vlog 7 or 8, but this is my first time commenting. I have a 4Runner too, but I'm still working on making it overland-ready. You've been my inspiration to take up overlanding and, consequently, vlogging. I actually mention you in one of my videos but 1) idk how to say your last name and 2) idk how to tag you (still pretty knew to the creator side of TH-cam). Anyway, just thought I'd show some love and leave a comment. Looking forward to your future videos and, who knows, maybe one day our paths on the trail will cross.
Jun Of Spades well thanks! Appreciate the love!! It’s Kerchee and when you finish uploading go to end of screen annotations and you can add a link to another channel!
I have been watching several of your videos lately, got a question. Does airing down the trailer tires really seem to help much? I have never pulled a trailer with me off road, but air down my old Jeep first thing when I get on a trail.
If you are running on an apple ipad or iphone, you should check out the app, fog of world. I think you would find it very interesting. I run it all the time and its cool.
Alain Brouillette the other one is plumbed to the water eater and stove. It was full in February, then i finally just filled it in end of June. You can look through and see all the vlogs it lasted. Lasted a long tkme b
I live in Polk county Tn which is where you were at when you ended the video people in this county do not care about leave no trace and the lack of authority there it's hard to stop all the trash dumping and it's sad I have to make my little girl where her chacos every where when in the river and the next day when you left your camp I think I past you and Jeff right past chillhowee lake and camp ground you had just turn to go back to hwy 30 in reliance I was in a 2009 white Tacoma if it was you I past you would remember if not great video
Matt Gates you're not kidding. People around here care not about leave no trace. The old Boyscout trail which is one of the few OHV trails in this area of the Cherokee was closed due to people trashing the campsite down on parksville out. I'd love to talk to park rangers about opening some of them up again
Jason - I use Epic Wipes. I think they were the originator of the big ole wipes thing. They appear to be larger and cheaper in case you're interested. www.amazon.com/10-pack-massive-biodegradable-residue-free-substitute/dp/B01NB09UJI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1508338857&sr=8-1&keywords=epic+wipe
The new screen recording feature on IOS 11 is very helpful and also adds a neat touch to your videos! I subbed a while ago and i always look for new vlogs. I have a 4runner as well and follow you on insta. @t4r_trout. Always great to see new vlogs!!!!

My roommate has a JK and I have Taco. We get the same comments when we run into those packs of homogenized 4x4's.
Having to run back and pick up your camera must be a pain, but damn is it worth it. Your videos are some of my favorite on TH-cam. Keep it up Jason!
Smitty Werbenjägermanjensen haha. It’s part of the gig!

Josh that needs to be a Chattanooga Overland weekend end route one day. I just live off 411 and that's a great area to ride thru :)
I like that shade he threw about the fake hood scoop 🤣🤣😅😅
Always excited for a new video keep it up!

Yeah and Toyota runs their engines a bit hotter than others and that would interfere with that

I like offroad and camping.
Awesome that you guys got together for the expo!!

oh snap that was helen. I'm guessing you stayed at Unicoi SP, that's one of our favorites
Matthew Harms yep!
Haha as soon as the vid started I was like "must be Helen". I loved my stay at Unicoi it's one of the prettiest SP i've ever seen with super nice staff
Hey great videos. Trying to find a link to the merchandise store thanks. Besafe
Hey! Sorry, it's in the description. Also, here: swellrunner.myshopify.com/
Hey Jason, the reason the gimbal was freaking out was because you had the drone placed on a metal surface.
Gio Sab nope. It was doing that in the air - where it started. Gimbals don’t do that just because they’re in metal.
Jason Koertge oh that’s so weird. Btw you really have a great channel, keep it up!
Gio Sab thank you!!
Just curious how many miles does your 4 runner have now?
4:35mark, the gimbal issue has happened to me, so annoying. Mine may have gotten sand in the motor, used a can of air to blow it out, but very frustrating.
First like love your vids
What mapping system/program does everyone use? I like the gps etc. thanks David

I have been watching several of your videos lately, got a question. Does airing down the trailer tires really seem to help much? I have never pulled a trailer with me off road, but air down my old Jeep first thing when I get on a trail.

Jason , i notice you have 2 propane bottles at the back of your trailer , how long those bottles last ?
Alain Brouillette the small spare probably 6 hours on our big red campfire.
Thanks
Alain Brouillette the other one is plumbed to the water eater and stove. It was full in February, then i finally just filled it in end of June. You can look through and see all the vlogs it lasted. Lasted a long tkme b
Those are 10 pounds bottles ?
Alain Brouillette have no idea. Sounds right though
Hey Jason what mapping system are you using ? Great content !

Hey Jason. What communication (walkie talkie) equipment do you use? I’ve looked in the description and didn’t see it.
Armando Chavez I was wondering the same thing.
