You do the best hotel tours by far . You show us what’s on offer , it’s surprisingly hard to find out sometimes on the booking sites . Thanks for showing what and where the place is and letting the punters decide if it’s good for them . A simple service well needed and rarely done . Thanks mate 👍

Stayed 1 week at the Sawasdee place on my second time Pattaya in 2001. Was okay then but once was enough.
Also stayed at Charlie Place 3 times in 2008 and 2009. It was okay, no problems and don't recall being bothered by outside noise. A lady worked reception then one of the nicest hotel staff encountered. When I arrived at the hotel for my second visit, she came and gave me a big welcome hug. One and only time that's ever happened. Of those 4 places, Charlie P the best.
I stay in more " upmarket" hotels these days. Thanks for video.

Stayed in the first hotel you showed Siam Sawadee in soi baukhao in 2000. We stayed for a month. The monthly rate we paid was 8 or 9,000bt can't remember exactly but I know it worked out about £5 a night. You have to remember the exchange rate was much better in those days. In fact it got better every year, getting up to about 76 baht to the pound in 2007 until the credit crunch in the west (2008) saw Sterling plummet against other currencies.
Rooms were and still look nice and clean and the swimming pool is very good.
There use to be a restaurant there but you don't really need it because there are so many places to eat within yards of the hotel.

Great option on a budget. Personally i rather spend an extra $35 aud a night to get a bath, large balcony, 55" tv, a washing machine and pool but each to their own. A non western shower would drive me nuts lol

I stayed at the Siam Sawadee a few times prior to treetown becoming a place, in fact watched them build the road from Soi Skaw beach to soi Bukuoi. This IMO is the best of bunch you showed in this vlog.
As a walk in, 10,000 baht per month with 10 free breakfasts as they had a restaurant and also a pool bar then.
In fact they had a special on the top floor all the rooms were only 8,000 pm.
Now I prefer staying in Jom tien at a hotel on the beach.
The Katesiree is a nice place for cheap beer (70b) for a large bottle and people watching.

Thanks Daz. I agree with not caring if the place serves breakfast when you're staying smack in the middle of the night life. Walk outside and literally have 10 places to eat on either side of your hotel. I also agree with coming to Pattaya in low season in terms of deals, not to mention better nightlife choices in terms of numbers. I avoid going in December/January/Songkran for exactly those reasons. 24 days til touch down!!

I pay 999 THB/night cos I booked directly at the reception desk (Agoda might be a little bit more expensive). The hotel does not have a swimming pool, but big rooms with balcony and is very centrally located !!! It is also surprisingly quiet and no "joiner fee" is charged ... of course. 😁👧😜

@@keef6586 the thing I remember was the cleaner's phone at the end of the corridor. It was so loud and shrill that it was like having a very jarring alarm clock next to the bed. And it went off any time reception called the cleaner. Especially when someone checked out at 6am.
Plus the bedroom floor was higher than the bathroom, so I kept hitting my head on the door frame. That combined with a jagged wooden carving just above the bed meant I always had blood in my hair. Which ruined the mood the whole time.

I stayed at kjs house in January for one month on the 4th floor . There was a router outside the door but they don't have the password for it, they only have the password for the 5th floor. The room was at the back with a balcony but no table or chairs, there was a safe in the room but I did look at another room and there was no safe. It is also very loud until 2am even at the back because of live music from a bar on an adjacent wall, and the bed was rock hard . The rooms are supposed to be cleaned every 3 days, but I ended up keep having to ask every 4th day. It was very cheap though, if you go in low season you should be able to choose your room so probably not so bad then. They also use them as ST rooms at 350 baht

Good stuff. It's so wild how the prices can be different between 'showing up in person' vs booking online....for better or worse. I'm actually typing this message from a condo you previously reviewed months ago. I have a Thai uncle who lives in Bangkok who originally contacted the person who gave you the tour of where I'm staying at. The price she quoted to you was the same as your video as well as the security deposit. The only difference was she also wanted a 5,000 baht refundable reservation fee. Once I was ready to book hours later, neither of the 2 condos available at the time.....simply weren't. I ended up booking thru Agoda at the same place as I didn't feel comfortable not having housing secured upon arrival 48 hours ago. I paid an additional $150 (USD) for the month, but they didn't ask or require a full month's security deposit....only 1,000 baht cash upon arrival for the security deposit.
Welcome to Thailand, as you say.

I've stayed at some cheap budget hotels but the ones you have shown are not for me I'm booking for September and will be looking around for a hotel mid range price but will still be looking at budget hotels because you can find little gems of budget hotels around that area.
There is one I would recommend is secrets which have a large balcony's and very clean rooms and that was 500 BAHT during high season 3 years ago and I think it's still open.

Great info as always on Pattaya hotels... although when you can stay somewhere like Acqua or Page 10 for $35
I really don't see the attraction of these guest houses.

You would save $20 every night, if you stay for a month, thats $600 or 20K baht or about 10 ladies. LOL

Good video, I prefer the cheaper hotels being covered due to the increased cost of a living / holidays and given the type of holiday patts is then staying in luxurious accommodation is not particularly important

Nice that you show it in such detail. For me personally, however, it is intimidating. I certainly don't want to spend the best weeks of the year like this. For the same price there are very well equipped, clean and new Airbnb condos - also on Agoda - with every comfort. Not so central but there is Bolt or the option to hire a scooter very cheaply. Local tax is added to Thai baht prices on Agoda.

@@CheekyMonkey007 Only one hotel supposedly costs only 11 dollars. Daz forgot to add local taxes to Agoda prices. The other 3 hotels cost $15 and up. I pay 15 dollars for a 40 sqm luxury apartment built in 2020 with pool, gym, washing machine, fitted kitchen, in Wong Amat, 2 minutes walk from Bamboo Beach. Now just keep laughing.
