    Just gonna throw this out, Mattias Ekholm has played 134 games for the Oilers and has +84, that's an insane stat. Incredible trade by the Oilers, makes a world of difference for them.

    Hyman is the first Winger to really click with McDavid, besides Drai. Key ingredient! Eckholm was our best trade in decades also..

    Here’s the thing: yes, he benefits from playing with McDavid, but that doesn’t tell the full story. McDavid also benefits from playing with him because of his ability to forecheck and get to the front of the net. They both compliment each other

    • @darpompie4354
      @darpompie4354 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +13

      exactly...If it were easy, every McDavid line mate would have 50 goals. He has high IQ to know where to be, he knows how to finish, and he works like a dog on a bone. Hundreds of players have played with McDavid, only a select few have been able to achieve what Hyman has.

    • @themoggle7434
      @themoggle7434 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hyman doesn't get enough credit for being ABLE to play with McDavid. He's genuinely a difficult player to play with. There's requirements. And he just happens to have all the necessary tools to be an effective McDavid winger.

    Zhack Hyman is definitely one of the best trades the Oilers have done in recent history. Definitely Mattias Ekholm as well. We've definitely gotten pretty lucky with our trades as of late. A couple more insane trades and a cup would be automatic. My vote is to get Laferniere out of New York. Anyone who can do such a filthy toe drag, to a one-foot glide and finish it off with a karate kick to Bobvrosky while scoring a goal? Instantly loved in Edmonton hahaha

      They also tried Ty Rattie, Drake Caggiula, Kailer Yamamoto, and while they might not have played in the same line with McDavid, notable names like Ryan Strome and Kyle Turris were on the team a few years back. Maybe perlini as well but I think he became a bottom sixer at that point after his injury playing in Detroit.

      In true Oilers fandom fashion, “Hyman has been lights out lately”

      It’s constant.
      Mcdavid is carrying the team
      Goaltending isn’t good enough
      Nurse
      Nurse
      Nurse
      Bouchard
      Defense isn’t good enough
      Can’t score
      You know it’s nearly impossible to have every aspect of a team performing at 100% of their capacity 100% of the time?!
      Give it a rest already, see you on the bandwagon in April.

    • @boser1212
      @boser1212 12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @ you got that right. Might be a blessing but he’s hurting the team too often. I’ve been a nurse fan since he started and it’s totally not his fault, I’d take that pay day too but he has one of the worst contracts in the league. Basically cup or bust this year far as I’m concerned. Mcdavids contract is going to hurt the team overall.

    Those kind of players were undervalued back in the 90’s … oh he’s just a Gretzky/Lemieux merchant, but since Cheechoo they became rare to the point of non-existence.
    Btw say what you want about Cheechoo but he still got the sharks record for most goal in a season and the 9th best in very few seasons. Every team should enjoy their Hyman’s while it lasts.

Obviously it benefits to play with Mcdavid but time and time again the proof shows you need to be a good player already be affected the most by him, he was never able to elevate average to poor players to a high degree. The only exception was one year Maroon did well playing with him, but then went back to not playing well with him the next year
