MTA: (A) Line Rockaway Resiliency Project Info

From the evening of Friday, January 17th, 2025 to May 2025, the (A) line will be severed from the Rockaways. The (A) will run from Inwood-207th Street to Lefferts Boulevard Howard Beach-JFK Airport, while an (H) train Shuttle will run from Far Rockaway to Rockaway Park. The Q97, Q109 and Q121 shuttle buses will act as substitutes for this service, while LIRR rides to Far Rockaway will cost $2.75, when tickets to this location are purchased at NYC terminals.
The Q97 shuttle bus service will begin on 1/17/25, and will run as an express from Howard Beach to Far Rockaway, while the Q109 route will begin on 1/20/25, and will run between Howard Beach and Beach 67th Street as a local. Both routes will run via the Cross Bay Bridge. The Q121 will supplement the Q22 and Q52-SBS, and will stop at all (H) train stops.
Some QM15 express bus trips will be extended to Beach 54th Street-Arvene, and peak trips will be added to the QM16/QM17. Meanwhile, the NYC Ferry from Pier 11 to the Rockaways will be free.
This plan has been in the works as far back as 8/29/2023, while shuttle bus training for this program began on 9/7/2024.

Not likely. It will probably be signed up as (S), especially if they elect to leave the R179s or R211As on that side of the Rockaways. However, if they leave R46s on that portion, MTA crew members could sign the trains up to (H) if they want to. However, in nature, it will use the same route pattern as the (H)
