as far as I know Conan Without Borders is going to stay as an active show on TBS, and maybe available on HBO

Yes! That's one of the best things to come from Conan lately.
Conan Without Borders will continue to air on TBS going forward (and probably on HBO). In addition, O’Brien has signed a deal with HBO Max for a new weekly variety series, though no premiere date has been set for that series. Conan said: “The plan is to reemerge on HBO Max sometime in the near future with what I think will be my fourth iteration of a program. Imagine a cooking show with puppets, and you’ll have the wrong idea."

@@norasmith2474 I'm okay with this. I only care about seeing the 1 in 5 guests that are funny. I always felt bad that he had to interview flops because politics. Hopefully that ends and it can catch more of a Craig Ferguson meets serious jibber jabber vibe. For years craigy ferg and coco were the only two I would consider clicking on, depending on the guests.

My inner child is sad for nostalgic purposes that it's the end of an era. But I am SO excited to get to see him unfiltered. Get that hilariously dark, Simpsons-writer brain out and uncaged by the FCC and invite Bill Burr and Norm and just let loose. After so many years on network tv he's been owed that freedom for a while

He hosted a pilot of a new version of "match game" and it was awesome. Wish it got picked up. Norm MacDonald was one of the panelists for it.

I agree; at the very least, it'd be the perfect vessel for some COVID-19 specials (e.g. reviewing quarantine, mask wearing, etc.).

Andy was a neighbor in Glendale, super nice in person. I love this even more knowing that Andy's first bits on Late Night were almost 30 years ago and here they are still doing bits.

Conan should be the most popular late night host! It’s an absolute disgrace that Jay Leno stole the job back and now Jimmy Fallon gets the coveted spot!
That was Conan’s job and everyone knows it!
Meh. The Tonight Show is massively overrated. Its too tightly controlled by the NBC execs and they just use it to promote their own properties ad nauseum. Leno was perfect for thar role because he'll do anything for cash, but it was a bad fit for Conan. And the result of that mess is we got Team Coco and some great experimentation with format, a podcast empire, and the whole saving the Largo thing... none of which Conan would have been able to do under the tight control of NBC. Im grateful for Leno's dumb schenanigans every time I see what new thing Conan is experimenting with.
In the internet era, you don't have to be on the tonight show to make impact. Conan is perfect being by himself
It's show Business, meaning you need ratings or the Networks can't sell commercials. If Conan had more viewers, he wouldn't be getting the boot ...again.

@@daveclark8337 He chose to end his late night show it wasnt because of low viewership. With the whole Jay Leno tonight show mess jay was supposed to retire and hand it over to Conan and he did for a few months then decided he wanted to come back and ended up in the slot right before Conan and NBC ended up giving him all of the big guests again over Conan and with that expecially being before internet video was such a massive part of the world and live tv was where it was at of course he was going to struggle when the old guy comes back with all of the guests and support right before you and plans to stay for a few more years. TBS was a much better fit for Conan allowing him to experiment more and try out different things and the show has been driven by his personality. His abroad segments and bits with the staff is never something that Falon, Kimmel, Colbert or Cordan could do. He was the driving factor much like Dave Lettermen or the previous late night legends. The only other semi recent late night host with that type of vibe was Craig Ferguson. I do think that HBO will be a. great spot for Conan because he wont be limited by regular TV standards with formatting or with regulations. As for raitings if you look at a lot of demographics thay generally dont watch live TV ex mellineals he does way better than the other hosts and his online clips do fairly well even without guests. The other hosts like Fallon or Cordan dont get amazing live viewership numbers either but do get celebrities to play dumb games or dumb bits and get loads of views on TH-cam but generally it has almost nothing to do with the host and all with the celebrities involved and the big parent company paying for advertising for it. Even with slightly lower numbers and going between several networks Conan is going to go down in history as one of the greatest late night hosts and probably the greatest of this era.
