    First oooo...please is not only salt we add to dzormi as known as zoomi.we add ginger as well and more over,we don't use old palm fruit for dzormi. Another thing I know about dzormi preparation mum thought me is, they prepare it early in the morning not when is sunny. The easiest way I know when preparing dzomi is,, we don't make it watery and put it on fire but we do it when is not sunny so that, the oil will be removed from the surface(3b3da) and then cook. Very hard working women.bless you ma'am. Bless you bro for always bringing us the best 👌when preparing dzomi,the ginger and the spice that settle, is known as Beku

    This video was amazing! I'm Nigerian, but grew up in the US. We buy imported red oil from Ghana all the time, but never knew how it was made. It's interesting because in the US this product would sell for much more money, because it's hand pressed and not manufactured on a large scale. I pray that our people begin to earn more for our efforts, because small artisan makers like this are far more valuable than they even know.

    Here i go again 😀
    Palm oil and the oil palm are one of the most important crops in the modern world.
    It is indigenous to Africa and has been cultivated there from time immemorial
    However commercial production for industries is concentrated around Malaysia and Indonesia where it was introduced.
    Palm oil is said to be found in about 50% of all products found in supermarkets.
    The tree gives the highest yield per hectare of any oil producing plant. It also produces two types of oil. Red palm oil and palm kernel oil.
    The oil plant has also been maligned but without adequate research there is no conclusive proof. Most studies are confined to it in its refined form.
    Frytol a popular brand in Ghana is usually made from refined palm oil
    Unrefined red palm oil may actually, as some studies suggest, be good for your health and eyesight. In the least it is no worse than any other vegetable oil.
    A good red oil really adds taste and aesthetic qualities to many African cuisine dishes

    Aaww bro, this is your best video by far! Thank u for bringing these local productions to our knowledge, it helps to give some of us, ideas to help! I like when u are eating too, dont get me wrong. These people will do way better with machines, they'll make more in a short time, and even be able to export,,,a lot of sanitary products overseas contain palm oil.. Malaysia and stuff make them in large volumes and export to industries for productions.. I'm also laughing at u here, becos u didnt know that we use palm oil to make soaps. Hahaha. My mum taught us that. She's from Sefwi. Anyway, I'm joking at laughing at u. I know that so many use soap in Ghana, without even knowing how soap is made. I know some soap also come from plantain skin too. Africans, we have the creativity, but it was never valued from the beginning, so the various governments, and therefore the people themselves, never put any energy into developing and empowering our creativity, and that's the beginning of our downfall. If u dont respect and value what u do for a living, how do u improve on it! Thanks bro! But u didnt tell us which town this is. The ladies are so joyous at what they do...so, can u imagine if taught them how to improve and advance it even better?! I hope we all help!

    I appreciate the hard work of the people working in these local communities. One thing I don't agree is your comment of NGOs and government helping. The government can't do everything for its people though. Where does the proceeds of the oil go? Yes the people working must be paid and I bet they don't even get paid well for the amount of work they do? My point is, why can't they invest in the machines from the proceeds or profits from the business. Over here in the west, individuals have business plans, short and long term plans of growing their business. As a reporter, you can also advice these business people to allow stakeholders to invest in their projects so the profits can be shared. Thank you

    • @cookingwithsindaco
      @cookingwithsindaco  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Jemima.
      You're absolutely 💯 right.
      But we don't have structures like how the West have; our system is different, and moreover, those in the rural areas are affected not like city processes, I mentioned Government and NGOs because I know there a way, like giving then loans to small business to boost up and also to educate them about investment. Most of these locals don't know anything, and if you heard it well, it was even the chief who brought the job to the community to help the community...

    • @jemimaharrison8570
      @jemimaharrison8570 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Cooking with Sindaco
      Thanks for the answer bro.i totally heard and understand the points raised. My only problem is if the chief had the foresight to open the business, then the community or local banks can provide some little resources to boost the business. With technology at hand these days, I know people are watching. An example of a local TH-camr like wode Maya, always advices his viewers to invest in some of the projects he features on his show. Thank you

    Great job , but they don't want to be honest to admit that dzomi is different. There is no way this method tastes the same as dzomi. We don't add water to it on fire when doing dzomi. We pour cold water on the pounded and mashed pulp or leave it overnight. All the oil solidifies or turns butter like and separate from the water. We then easily see the oil and we collect it and boil....mmmm I can smell that right now.we don't add any onion. These women add onion because they have killed the natural smell of cooked palmfruits by cooking it wit water... So when we do it the dzomi method and it is done you can just smell heaven, and residues of the palmfruits collects under..that's the (beku) that is what we add some salt to. You can eat that with anything..omg it's so nice.... especially with gari and beans. It is really sorted after by gorbe sellers, bcos it really upgrades their food.
