Evening Todd, thanks for watching. The pole won't be hooked up for years unfortunately. The pole feeding this trailer will need to be built on a future layout in a future house. Just a few obstacles in the way!
Hi Matt, Looking good. I love the steps. Cutting up twine is a good way to make grass. I had green hemp I would save from hay bales just for that. The portable john is a must. I scratch built one for the dect of a work barge. This is turning into quite the project.😊😊😊
Great final on this Matt!!. I got to get me a bunch of the Porta-Potty's and place them around my layout. You find them in some of the most obscure places. Cheers!🍻 Earl
You do really fine work. djstrains would say don't forget the icemaker next to the steps. Ha, I think I heard the window unit kick on when I was in the port-a-potty.
I just remembered an old trick with the cut up twine. Put down a drop of tacky glue, pinch the twine and cut off a half inch or so and push it into the tacky glue. It should stand up and look like a tuft of wild grass.
I cant believe how awesome your yard office looks. As an electrician, your meter socket and pipe work look fantastic lol. The only thing id consider moving is the porta potty. The guy drivng the sucker truck aint gonna pull the hose that far lol especially when its snowing. I feel it would look natural next to the telphone pole where the barrel is. That way the porta potty guy can back right up to it in the parking area. Cuz you know the yardmaster wont like someone driving thru the grass and all. Im a new subscriber and im loving your work!
Haha. Thanks man. Nothing is glued down so I'll move the sh#tter - thinking Christmas Vacation. Don't want it dumped down the storm dtain. Glad you like my work. Honestly, had no intention of building this but happened upon that trailer frame and it went from there! Credit to the guys flying drones over railyards too. Their footage really helps
@mattw9667 hey I'm just trying to look out for the workin man ya'know? Lol I wanted to make some "sh*tters full" remarks, but you never know who's watched what and the intent of sarcasm doesn't typically transfer very well thru text lol. Your vignette is exactly the same type of yard office scene I'm wanting to create myself.
Really coming along nicely Matt. With it sitting on the glass patio table, it looks like an island surrounded by water. Were you really in India? I'm really into cultural anthropology and watch lots of TH-cam videos on India. Can't wait to see this lit up at night. Maybe an LED yard light on top of that pole? This is one of those things where you can just keep adding details, even years later. Lots of fun. Take care - Bill.
Bill, that pole is hollow. Do you know of a good source for a regular looking street light? Yup, lived there for 6 months. The people are amazing. The food is amazing. Pollution, not so much.
@@mattw9667 I was just looking at the new lights from Atlas, they look pretty good! You can check them out on November 2024 WHATS NEAT Model Railroad Hobbyist.
Matt, I think it all turned out fantastic, Don't be too hard on yourself .... I am also very cynical of myself and have the same issues.. Remember the 3ft rule.. if it looks good at 3ft leave it... Maybe a tree beside the Loo for no1's and the loo for no2's lol..
That's awesome and just think, its unique and no one else has one is the best part. Excellent 😃
Thanks Gene! Yeah, I do like my custom stuff. The big guys will do a kit next year eh!
I like it.. the utility pole and hydro meter details are amazing.... thanks for sharing

Thanks again. Pual. It's definitely more than what I first thought I'd do but I'm enjoying the build so why not keep going? Keep the ideas coming!

More to come Earl. Not done yet. Thanks for watching!
Great little diorama, and I like the styrene puddle idea.
Thanks very much. Yeah, saw that a few weeks ago on another channel. Thinking the winter modelers like Allagash should do the ice puddles.

That's what I like to hear. It's like you're really there at 1/87th ! 😄
@mattw9667, you're really arriving at some fine realism. That's the 1st time I've seen aluminum sheet metal used for the base. I like it.
You've got the touch Matt, it looks great already. A well placed tree will also ensure traffic uses the road.
That's a good idea. Was going to put it out bak but out front is good too. Thanks for watching
@@mattw9667 It will also draw the viewer into the scene to see what is behind the tree. I look forward to the result.

Thanks Paul. I'll be adding a few tufts next.
Great piece, Matt. I thought I was the only guy using rope😅 i use it for long reeds.🚂🇨🇦🙋
Thanks Doug. Yeah, that rope is super cheap and effective

Nice puddles ! ;)
I might use that line on the street!

The spots that you blew away the gravel with your airbrush make them water spots
Yeah. I could make some new ones to replace the ones that didn't work too well. Good idea
Looks fantastic, come on over put you to work
Let's do that sometime.
@ ok you not far from me

I think there will be a tree in that location. Definitely going with the flow on this one. Very enjoyable build so far. Thanks for your comment Tim!
