Two things to point out. When you did Jimmy and Joe Bonamassa Stone Cold, that was one of Jimmy’s sons- Jackie- on the drums. His eldest son David Campbell is quite the celebrity and singer too. He and Jimmy sing You’ll Never Walk Alone together in a performance we all find very emotional in a good way as the two of them got off to a rough start in life but it all turned around and now the family is very close and tight. ❤
Oh yes David’s voice is different but absolutely wonderful. I still love the Christmas duet they did. They look so much alike in that performance. And how proud is Jimmy when David sings. Warms ya heart doesn’t it Doc😊
When Jimmy was 7 yrs old he heard Mahalia Jackson sing in a movie and was so struck by her voice that he decided that if he grew up and had a daughter he’d call her Mahalia. Jimmy’s had a blues soul since a kid
Went to a Jimmy Barnes concert in Canberra a few years ago and Mahalia drove up to Canberra on a moments notice after being at her Daughters school concert because someone got sick. So hadn't rehearsed but she was AMAZING!! His son was playing on drums too!!
All of Jimmy's kids take after their father. Jimmy's wife Jane more than happily followed him and showed her own talent as a musician. They raised all their kids around music. When they were all very little they had their own group called The Tin Lids.
Once again a great reaction. Mahalia sure can sing. Yes Mahalia is definitely Jimmy and Jane’s daughter. Jane was born in Bangkok. Children have their beautiful mother’s looks and their father’s voice. I call the Barnes family, The Aussie Von Trapps lol. Even wife Jane learned guitar, and Jimmy created the Jane Barnes Band lol. All their children sing or play a musical instrument and now grandchildren 😊
Greetings from Canada. LOVE Mahalia... my first time here but I KNEW you would enjoy this one. btw Yes, she's Jimmy's daughter AND one of Joe's back- up singers. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Jimmy has said Mahalia, started singing with the band when she was 14 and now , Mahalia’s daughter Ruby who is 14 now sings with the band. So that’s 3 Generations in the band and Ruby is every bit as good as her mother and grandfather are. Mind all Jimmy and Jane’s kids and even Jane are often seen in the band. That was the 1 thing Jimmy wouldn’t compromise on right from the start when he went on tour his family went with him, maybe that’s the reason for their 43 years of marriage but come to think about it John Farnham and his wife have been married for 53 years.Just a few things I thought you might like to know.🇦🇺😘
Yep just like her father the whole family made an album when they were just kids called themselves The Tin Lids. He also did a duet with his son David Campbell at the Christmas Carols .
Hey there Son of Buck! Loving your channel!! Great song as are most songs by John Hiatt! Minor point: The girl in the thumbnail isn't Mahalia, it's Jade McRae who also sang with Mahalia and Juanita Tippins for Joe Bonamassa. You should check out Slow Train - Live at Red Rocks, where all 3 girls get to show off their pipes. And the first time I heard Mahalia sing was with her dad on a show called Rockwiz doing a song written by Jade McRae - have a look at it!
as an aussie i am delighted to see you enjoying our music, try going back to the early days by reacting to mama by billy thorpe and the aztecs live on gtk, this was probably the first pure rock song in australia
You need to check out Jimmy Barnes and his eldest son, David Campbell singing Reflections of My Life from Jimmy's Working Class Boy album; or You'll Never Walk Alone from Carols by Candlelight(annual Australian Christmas Charity Concert).
Hey Mike, another Aussie here, enjoying your channel. Another suggestion if nobody else has suggested yet. Aussie band Redgum with I was only 19. This is about PTSD and the Vietnam war. US band Five Finger death punch with Wrong side of Heaven, good video and song about PTSD and Vets.
To see how Aussies do country , have a listen to our Hall of Fame superstar Kasey Chambers. Her song 'Ain't No Little Girl' - live at the Bluegrass Underground is a good place to start.
I knew you would be impressed by Mahalia now you should take a look at Mahalias band Soul Mates backed up by Joe Bonamassa on her cover of Nasty Girl. Kasey Chambers cover of Eminems Lose Yourself is also really good and its pretty easy to go down a rabbit hole with her as well. Dont be puit off if you arent a fan of Rap music Kasey puts a whole new spin on it and shocked the audience a little when she performed it here in my home town of Newcastle as she is better known as a country /bluegrass artist. She is pretty versatile and has been big in Australia for 30 odd years she started out as a kid in the family band called Dead Ringer Band.. She has also been inducted into the ARIA hall of fame....Her father Bill plays the steel slide guitar and you can see him in the Lose Yourself clip he is the guy in the hat tat is similar to yours..Another great reaction I really like your exploration of the Aussie music scene I,m sure that the number of subscribers to this channel from Australia is only going to grow.
Mahalia also sings on Let The Good Times Roll from Joe Bonamassa Live at the Greek Theatre. I think she worked as a backing singer for Bonamassa for a while.
Hi Mike! back for another great reaction lol. Jimmy's family are all so very talented...Even his kids had their own band called The Tin Lids' lol His lovely wife also sings and plays guitar one of his sons plays drums I think in this actual performance... Glad to see you enjoying finding new music from The Land Down Under....
Great reaction..As people have said you should react to Jimmy singing “you’ll never walk alone” with his son David Campbell It’s especially moving once you know their background (Jimmy was around 16 when David was born and David thought Jimmy was family friend until he was about 10..and was ? told his biological mum was his older sister and his nana his mum.. I’m sure it would have been hard to cover up much longer I’d say as they look very similar.. David is a very good singer and also does alot of theatre/musicals and is host of a morning show on TV, Jimmy and his wife are often on it doing cooking segments) Mahalia’s teenage daughter ruby is also an up and coming singer and Jimmy has clips on his instagram of ruby singing flame trees.. whole family is so talented).
G'day Mike 👍 you've somehow turned comments off on - Mossy doing "Georgia' & Chisel with 'Flame Trees'. Go change it asap mate 👍 As you were ready to react to Georgia Tuesday morning there, it was night here (23.45) in Perth, Western Australia. Be safe out there! ✌️
Love it. Mahalia was a name Jimmy loved when he was a young boy, as he watched Mahalia Jackson sing with his Dad. He said to him then, when he has a daughter, Mahalia is what he was going to name her, and that is just what he did. Another great tune with Mahalia, is a song called The Real Thing. It is a cover of a song sung by another Aussie Russell Morris. She sings it with Kate Ceberano and Nikka Costa.
@kazz3956 I came here to point that out too! It's Jade McRae who sang with Mahalia and Juanita Tippins in Joe Bonamassa's band..All 3 of them can sing like crazy, hey?
G'day mate Just a bit more info on them the whole family sings and plays instruments As kids that had a band called tin lids when little tackers They also sing on line at xmas the whole family you'll see these on line as well The family has a Web site and talk or reply to anyone who leaves comments They are very much the people's entertainer's and enjoy the interaction with the public Like post Jimmy and Joe doing lazy brilliant musicians and don't need to anything about Jimmy Cheers mate for promoting them stay safe out there as well 🦘🇦🇺👍
That was a great song, never heard of Joe Bonamassa and Mahalia Barnes. Definitely worth a listen. Great reaction, you should do Man of constant sorrow by Home Free
Thank you so much for your great reactions. You should check out David Campbell and Jimmy Barnes you'll never walk alone. It is beautiful song and shows who proud Jimmy is of his kids. Also should check out John Swan Jimmy's brother.
Like your reactions. Could you make the videos a little bigger. People like to get a better sense of what's going one. Keep up the good work. I'm a sub!!

Another one to check out is The Black Sorrows with "Never Let You Go" or "Chained to the Wheel."
Once again a great reaction. Mahalia sure can sing.

And Never Let Me Go
Greetings from Canada. LOVE Mahalia... my first time here but I KNEW you would enjoy this one. btw Yes, she's Jimmy's daughter AND one of Joe's back- up singers. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
This is a banger and she's the Bomb
Another good tip would be Mahalia Barnes, Kate Ceberano & Nikka Costa - The Real Thing

Yes two good ones of Jimmy and David together to check out are You’ll Never Walk Alone and Do you Love Me.
Totally agree ! Please react to that David Campbell video !!
Great job. She does another with Joe called nasty girl. Also special. It is a Bette Davis cover.
Hey there Son of Buck! Loving your channel!!

Man that song is killer 🔥 up there with the best 👌
You need to check out Jimmy Barnes and his eldest son, David Campbell singing Reflections of My Life from Jimmy's Working Class Boy album; or You'll Never Walk Alone from Carols by Candlelight(annual Australian Christmas Charity Concert).
If you loke this, then Black Sorrows have a belter of a song called Never Let Me Go

Jimmy has many apples that never fell far from the tree. His family band is called the Tin Lids. They brought out many vids during lockdown.
This is also Australia mate, the longest road trains in the world, the longest highways, the longest distances, the biggest deserts.
Mate, keep doing what you're doing!
If you loved that, give another Australian group a go, The Black Sorrows - Chained To The Wheel.
I definitely agree. Also "Never Let Me Go"
Mahalia is great, saw her earlier this year. You will also find her singing with Jimmy. Who’s is very fine.
To see how Aussies do country , have a listen to our Hall of Fame superstar Kasey Chambers.

Just thought I'd mention that Eric Clapton and B.B. King did a version of this song.
Hey mate, try cheap wine official video. One of there earlier songs when they were young.
Mahalia has been with joe for a long time as a back up singer . You should listen to them doing let the good times roll live
❤
All three back up singers are aussies
Like your reactions. Could you make the videos a little bigger. People like to get a better sense of what's going one. Keep up the good work. I'm a sub!!
Let me see what I can do. When they are small, TH-cam usually doesn't block them for some reason. But I can Try
Do more tim like lullaby or storm he has so many
Personally, I think Mahalia has a set of pipes that could rival Aretha.
They are husband & wife
Mahalias husband is Jimmys guitarist Ben Rogers
That's her mate on one of Jimmy's videos you see her as a Baby
