We will get other great singers, but what we wont see anymore is good bands, especially those bands who sing about anti establishment like the Sex Pistols.. Look at Green Day, what a bunch of sell outs they are.. Sing about fark the establishment but do gigs for political parties.. Springsteen, John Cougar, Neil Young, all sell outs.. Told what to do & what to say.. Even Howard Stern all gone woke.. Be woke or never get signed..
so true it was because of the awesome live music venues in that era from Selenas in Sydney east to Wentie Leagues Club in Sydneys west to The North Gong Hotel in Wollongong the bands of this era were all hard working bands
This is why we love this man so much here. His band mate from Cold Chisel, Don Walker (the pianist) wrote this and it's hands down love of my all time fav Jimmy songs ever.
Something right out there you may like. Gurummul and blue king brown. It's an Australian aboriginal great and a back up band. It dies tend to stick in your head when ever Gurummul sung . So he can be haunting.
Thank you again for playing this. He originally recorded this decades ago (too lazy to look it up) but this re-recording sees a much matured Jimmy, sober, content in himself and his relationships and stone cold in love with his wife. Sung with such feeling, you're left with no doubt as to his sincerity.❤
Jimmy is a legend - You may also want to take a listen to another Aussie Guy Sebastian either 'Believer' or 'Standing with you' - he also has a great voice
Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham (or Barnsey and Farnsey) as they're lovingly called here in Oz, have been my schoolgirl crushes for 50+ years. Between them, there's no Genre of music that they can't cover. That's Jimmy's son Jackie on the drums in this clip. You should also check out Jimmy's daughter Mahalia with Joe Bonamassa- Riding with the Kings. The whole Barnes family, from Jimmy and his wife Jane, to the kids and grandkids are all so talented. Also Jimmy and his son David Campbell singing "you'll never walk alone" at Carols by Candelight,
Australian singer Jimmy Barnes says his solo tour dates for the next two months will be "impacted" after getting unexpected hip surgery. Barnes posted the health update on his Instagram account on Saturday. The 68-year-old rock icon posted a photo of himself smiling in a hospital bed with his wife Jane Barnes. "I had a twinge in my hip when I was leaving Dunedin on Thursday morning and by late last night the pain was unbearable so I went off to hospital," the singer said. "The doctors have recommended a remedial medical procedure ASAP followed by some physio to address the issue. I’m expected to make a full recovery in six weeks." It's unclear if the tour dates will be cancelled or postponed, with Barnes saying the "August and September solo shows will all be impacted".
Jimmy is amazing. His versatility in singing all different genres is sometimes forgotten. His solo work ranges from rock to soul and blues and he kills all of it.
A great example of his talent along with Joe. Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia Barnes also does a song with Joe called riding with the kings. She didn’t fall far from the tree
Hi. I have recently subscribed, and I am really enjoying your Aussie reactions. Jimmy is my favourite artist. He has been since i was a teenager in the late 80's. As you are in law enforcement, you may get a kick out of his acting with the police in this version of Daylight from his own channel. Makes me laugh every time. He has written 3 autobiographies. The first is Working Class Boy, then Working Class Man (also a song of his) and Killing Time (a Chisel song). PS get better soon Jimmy ❤
Jimmy the rocker but has also put out a christmas album and does a heart breaking rendition of the scottish song Loch Lomand in memory of one of his mates
Joe Bonamassa is blues legend. He started playing guitar at age 4, by 9 he was playing in bands with guys 20 years older than him. At 12 he opened for the great legendary blues artist BB King. 2000, Bonamassa has released fifteen solo albums through his independent record label J&R Adventures, of which eleven have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Blues chart. Among guitarists, he is known for his extensive collection of vintage guitars and amplifiers, over 400. In 2020, Bonamassa created Keeping the Blues Alive Records, an independent record label that promotes and supports the talent of blues musicians. ❤ Bonamassa produces and collaborates on many of the projects. Should check out his duet with Beth Hart live from Amsterdam I'd Rather Go Blind.
Thank YOU for making time to react our Aussie talent! I don’t think it gets much better than Jimmy and Joe chasing each other through ever increasing crescendos and then bringing us down gently. Love it! Much love to you from Australia! Xx
So impressed with your 'reaction' my friend. Yes Jimmy had to have heart surgery...but healed quick and, you guessed it went straight back on the road touring lol. Unfortunately he has is back in hospital for hip surgery. But he's as tough as they come, we Aussies are all praying for his speedy recovery. He's on of our Aussie Legends here. One suggestion from me is "Sooth Me" with Original artist legendary Sam Cook. Love you channel and it's Aussie content.....
Jimmy has had a difficult 2 years. He had to cancel a tour for hip surgery. He recovered from that then was taken down by a virus that got into his heart. He cancelled that concert or tour because he underwent open heart surgery to save his life, now this😢
I'm subscribed mate. Love watching watching your reactions to great Aussie music. I've left other bands to look up on other comments I've given, so I won't do it again. But still hung up on Barnesy and Chisels you've got to listen to "Just how many times" from Thier first album, self titled.. Jimmy was 17 or so. And it was Sung with such soul. ✌️
Jimmy is 68 now but he will not stop until he dies which everyone does at some time but i am hoping he can still sing at 100 but probably pushing it a couple of years
They do another one together called lazy it a cover of deep purple song In this the musician's are next level and jimmy's the cherry on top Seeing you like jazz blues look this one up Jimmy barnes Sam Moore soothe me Also Jimmy barnes and Tina turner singing simply the best They did this as promotion song for our rugby final Tina loved it that much came back several times to watch it Jimmy was younger in this one and they had a ball doing it Jimmy's daughter Mahala barnes sings with joe bonamassa Look up Joe bonamassa and Mahala Riding with the kings Mahala has a powerful voice like Jimmy Yeah our alliance with you England rest of Europe Canada are very strong as we all believe in very similar life styles So have a very good bonds and as Aussie's will take the piss out of you which we only do to people we like Also the guy singing playing guitar 🎸 is Ian moss or mossy as known here he's part of cold chisel band Johnny diesel is jimmy's brother in law and was his guitar 🎸 player when Jimmy went solo No big deal most not from here fined it difficult while learning so just remember cold chisel it ian moss It's hard for you guys reacting as trying to learn multiple things at once that's not you normal country things Be no different for us if doing same about other countries You doing fine mate and soon you'll be old hand at speaking in the breaks as the self confidence comes in time Just be you and no matter what you say someone will have something to grizzle about So just be you and you'll get genuine people who like your platform following you If you look at others you think, got down pat go look up when they started several years ago and see the difference Your doing good mate hang in there as long as it's enjoyable to you is the main thing The webs avtwo edge sword the good is you learn about other countries around the world especially interacting like your site But the down side is you always get those who want to destroy everything and everyone happiness Just egnor them and think how lucky you are that your not miserable and only thing makes you happy is destroying others Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
Once again another terrific review of Barnsey and Joe & his band. That song is like a journey to me, it takes your soul to incredible heights and then gentle brings u down to a peaceful place.
If you want to explore Cold Chisel chronologically. Albums, start with "Breakfast at sweethearts (track of the same name) "East" just all of it. "Circus Animals" all of it. "20th Century" "Swingshift" live double album. "Barking Spiders" and "Last Stand" Then you had Jimmy's solo career. start that with "working class man" I probably missed some. I grew with these guys music, Jimmy went to my high school at Elizabeth in SA. the soundtrack to my youth. Then there is Billy Thorpe the original Aussie rocker. Russel Morris "The real thing" aussie 1970's psychedelic. music here rocked in the 70's and the 80's 90's not as good but some great bands came out of then
You have to listen to Jimmy's daughter Mahalia with Joe Bonammasa riding with the king. The apple didn't fall far from the tree with her. Cheers great vids.
Jimmy's Soul Deep concerts and albums are truly sensational. I watched your reaction to Jimmy with John Farnham singing When Something is Wrong With My Baby, but the live performance of that song is so much better. If you like duet reactions, l would recommend you react to Simply The Best with Tina Turner and Jimmy Barnes(from the 1980's); or alternatively, John Farnham and Olivia Newton John singing Please Don't Ask Me from The Main Event Concert, this performance is captivating.
Thanks Mike for your no-frills honest reactions. Joe opened around 20 concerts for B.B. King in 1989 when he was 12 years old! Please subscribe to this channel!
And the raspy voice vocalised a plea,.... and the guitar wailed, backing the voice 🥺.... What else can I say🤷🏽.... Thank you Mike for your reactions 🙏🏽 Cheerio from Down Under 🌺
Jimmy is our rocker music born in the suburban pubs 60s, 70s, 80s. John farnham is more clean cut nice guy and can sing pretty much anything a real treat is his cover of LedZeps Black dogs 😮😮😮😮😊😊😊
It's sad to think that the way music has gone now, we will never get singers like this again
He is still going strong.
Thank you, my favorite Barnsy song followed closely by "Too much ain't enough" cheers
I don’t think I have seen you looking so happy during a reaction before 😆 but I do understand as this is one of my favourites of Jimmy’s
Australia produced the best music in the world in the 70s and 80s.
I'm starting to agree. I am having a great time learning these here.
Just beautiful!🥰. Who hasn't sung this at the top of their voices when no one's listening or when slightly under certain influences 😅👌👌
Us Aussie were so lucky in the 70s and 80s, We had a smorgasboard of talent to listen too! ❤
so true it was because of the awesome live music venues in that era from Selenas in Sydney east to Wentie Leagues Club in Sydneys west to The North Gong Hotel in Wollongong the bands of this era were all hard working bands
thanks for a great reaction
This is why we love this man so much here. His band mate from Cold Chisel, Don Walker (the pianist) wrote this and it's hands down love of my all time fav Jimmy songs ever.
His duet of "Simply The Best" with Tina Turner when he was younger is fantastic.
100% Awesome
Something right out there you may like. Gurummul and blue king brown. It's an Australian aboriginal great and a back up band. It dies tend to stick in your head when ever Gurummul sung . So he can be haunting.
Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham, can’t go wrong with any of their music
Thank you again for playing this. He originally recorded this decades ago (too lazy to look it up) but this re-recording sees a much matured Jimmy, sober, content in himself and his relationships and stone cold in love with his wife. Sung with such feeling, you're left with no doubt as to his sincerity.❤
He's totally singing this to Jane.
Jimmy's voice is an Australian staple. Joe's solo is fire in this version. Much love from Queensland, Australia.
Jimmy is a legend - You may also want to take a listen to another Aussie Guy Sebastian either 'Believer' or 'Standing with you' - he also has a great voice
Agree 100 percent Jimmy Barnes is an Aussie icon along with Guy Sebastian check out Standing with you and Before I Go
I think the better introduction to Guy would be Battle Scars acoustic live home front. I think it would be more in his weel house.
Guy Sebastian - battle scars (live acoustic version)
Battle scars to start. With. For sure
Man, you don't usually show much emotion during a reaction, but I can see that this one got to you and I understand why 🙂
Yeah, I try not to be an "over-reactor" and to be honest like you'all
Ian Moss from Cold Chisel does a brilliant cover of Georgia ❤.
Riding with the Kings with Mahalia Barnes Jimmy's Daughter with Joe Bonamassa. She is awesome.
Yes please.
yes that or nasty girl that song is nasty in a good way lol
Agreed Jimmy's daughter is brilliant has that Areatha Franklin sound th-cam.com/video/LT1_zLv3SHg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dYGx8CJWzGUWjFgq

Thank GOD there was only one Elvis.
No way any sane music lover would want another one. lol
Subscribed & enjoying your reactions down here in Aus. Thank you! :)

What can you do. He must look after himself plus age catches up which sucks
@@BrettWilliams-n1c wasn't complaining, just posting updated info because he mentioned something about it.
G’Day, when Jimmy and Joe released this there was spontaneous conceptions all over Aus! A real panty dropper!
Cheers Kev
Jimmy is amazing. His versatility in singing all different genres is sometimes forgotten. His solo work ranges from rock to soul and blues and he kills all of it.
This is my idea of perfection, every musician there a star.
I love your straight talking approach, your stories and your music picks ❤
Got to say....we told you so...lol Glad you are enjoying great Aussie artists.....keep it up and we may have to make you an honary Aussie 😊
This whole band is top shelf
Jimmy is the GOAT
The drummer is his son Jackie in this one.
This was written by Cold Chisel's piano player, Don Walker.
A great example of his talent along with Joe. Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia Barnes also does a song with Joe called riding with the kings. She didn’t fall far from the tree
Thank you Mike. for all the Australian songs you do. Love the analogy you use to react to our beautiful Australian songs.
