Thinking about the fact that it was built on top of what used to be a dump in the 1960s, makes Hamilton Gardens that much more awesome!

The best place to start your tour is the information center. They have a huge overview map of the entire gardens where you can see the layout and types of gardens they currently have.
The gardens are located alongside the Waikato River and are divided into 5 major areas: Paradise Collection, Productive Collection, Fantasy Collection, Cultivar Collection, and Landscape Collection.

Instead of focusing on collecting and showcasing large numbers of plants, Hamilton Gardens are all about showing gardens through history, people’s attitudes towards nature, and even their reflection on civilization.
We visited almost every corner of the Hamilton Gardens and we loved every second of it! Our favorites were the Indian, Japanese, Maori Tribal, Italian, Herb, Chinoiserie, and Surrealistic Alice in Wonderland Gardens.
We saw fountains, mazes, statues, sculptures, hundreds of flowerbeds, countless plants, and a lot more! As Julia says, it was like the Disney Epcot of botanical gardens!
To finish the tour, we recommend visiting the Hamilton Gardens gift shop and getting yourself a little something to remind you of the time you visited this wonderful place.

At 7:39 i liked the acccent of the little girl . I'm from nz visited this place in 2017 and 2019 . Reminded me so many happy n loving memories with my wife.
I’ve been watching your travels with my little ones! 1) they get up and dance every time the outro music rolls, 2) I just discovered today that my 5 year old plays “Growing up without Borders” and named 3 of her little dolls Julia, Angelique, and Chloe. They go on adventures together. 😂😊 Y’all are role models!

Hamilton Tudor garden is so cool. How the details of the bushes must take long time to create those designs in the hedges. Great video! I would love to visit Christchurch New Zealand and Zermatt Switzerland.
Two beautiful countries on your list of places to visit. I would suggest visiting Christchurch but then doing the drive to Queenstown. It’s really spectacular! We will have some more NZ video coming out for you to see.
Wooww the pleace where they were was very picturesque, how much peace and tranquility there is, l imagine that only silence is heard, it is a world apart.

Thanks for sharing. I was in Hamilton more than thirty years ago and the Hamilton gardens did not look like this at all. Hoping to go to New Zealand soon and definitely visiting the gardens again.

The Singapore gardens are nice but these blew us away. We found them better. 😉
From next February there will be a $20 charge for non Hamilton residents which makes me sad, such a beautiful area which is continually being added to. The vegetables from the walled kitchen garden go to Hamilton food banks
I think it will be worth it for tourists because they are so beautiful. That’s cool about the vegetables. 🙌

i've been to the hamilton garden a few times. such a nice place especially for photography. the layout has changed a bit though
