I remember this game being legendary when I was younger, and fairly hard to get a hold of. I was a HeroQuest kid myself, but this looks right up my alley.
Nice concise breakdown. I accidentally watched the battle first, but never felt lost in the gameplay. Seems really clean and easy to pick up.
That's the cool thing about Heroscape: It is very easy to pick up and play compared to some other Wargames (Helped by the manual being rather concise) and the only tricky bit is the building of the maps and the application of strategy.

Becca you look very strong at Heroscape! In the yesterday video you got ALL the rules correct, that was really impressive! Would you be in my 3HH (3 headed Hydra) team at ScapeCon a great convention with only Heroscape! (Wednesday August 7th at the holiday Inn next to Indianapolis airport).

This is definitely the kind of game we love! But, I've noticed a majority of people returning to the system. That's always a good sign, but despite the heavy nostalgia factor. How does it hold up for the newcomers like us?
A lot of us have actually still been playing for a long time before this announcement. There's even events happening and have been happening

Same here. We bought so much of this as it came out and have a footlocker full of terrain. Must confess that we homebrewed it by losing the order markers and adding teleporting glifs so that we could create regions instead of one large map to avoid a long range sniper camping and ruling the day. 3 hours of set up and 6 hours of gaming ends up being another story to add to the library of stories we still talk about!!
Thanks for making the new Heroscape extremely expensive lmfao. 30-50$ for terrain? Thank god I have friends with 3D printers. Very disappointed in the new character cards
Absolutely necessary considering last edition everyone bought as much as they could and charged double on Ebay.
