    Nice. A note about "whiteboards", you can make your own using laminated paper. You'll just need dry erase markers.
    I like making these because I can create a blank sheet, either white or a color (I like color to help me see notes), or I can also create blank "forms" either columns to write in or "lined" pages. Really whatever helps me to organize the To-Dos...
    Really basic laminating machines are inexpensive. In the end I can create paper size "whiteboards" to my heart's content.
    The dry erase wipes right off the laminated plastic sheet...
    I support 3-ring binder "sheet protectors" would work as well...

    I coulda used this in high..middle...undergrad and life..
    Woulda saved me from drilling so many pencil holes in my desk.
    Would be great to see a guided demo of this on someone with ADHD and see how they are weeks or months from that.

    When it comes to lists, I like to also write down things that I want to do, but don‘t need to, stuff like „go to the beach“. And then regularly take off things that are no longer relevant

      Yes I’m Nir Eyal’s book Indistractible he talks about scheduling your leisure time as well. Especially relevant for busy people or people that forget to do things for themselves.

    Will also experiment with before refocusing on the small step refocus, I'd also do my best to refocus on the hype of that task. Quite a few tasks that I have to do have hype

    Hey! Thank you for this video and in general for what you do! I've been meditating everyday for a few months and it already has been such a shift in perspective and everyday life. I mainly work with Shinzens teachings, so I do a mix of noting practices and also his „do nothing“ approach, but I often noticed I would find myself in these crazy thought loops in my everyday life, trying to fix a problem in my head that either isn't really there or can't really be fixed by my mind and that really fueling the discomfort/restlessness.
    I started adopting the „Don't know mind“ mentality when these thought loops come up, which helps a lot, but your videos have been an even more amazing add-on to that, since it is much more specific about my situation with adhd.

It’s funny the next meditation I’m recording is actually “Don’t know mind” but it will be a few weeks before it’s up because I I got a few others that I’m editing and getting the music produced. But great to connect to another Shinhead (I’m a massive Shinzen lover, he is definitely one of the most influential people in my life).       Yes! Shinzen really changed how I look at meditation and spirituality.
      Actually, there is something I have been wondering about. I developed panic attacks and depersonalization/derealization in high school. Over the years, these things have gotten a lot better, although I think I've just gotten very good at distracting myself and running on autopilot while keeping "safe" in my thoughts. Ever since I started meditating and meeting my reality more, I started experiencing some of these things again. I definitely feel much more equipped to handle them, but sometimes I seem to go into this dissociative state when these things get triggered.
      When this happens, I've been trying to anchor myself in presence, adopt the "do nothing" approach, and try to let whatever happens happen. So I guess my question is whether you have any additional tips for dealing with something like this, or if it's simply a matter of sticking to the practice and it becoming less of a problem over time.

      @@RosentwigMusic yes it sounds like these things arising is in opportunity to work through what you didn’t really have the capacity or understanding to previously. When it comes to these types of things, you want to first acknowledge what this does for you. How dissociation and panic are a part of you that’s trying to keep you safe, and to appreciate the good intentions, even if it’s not always helpful. And then look at the feeing of safety: why you didn’t feel safe in the past and how you can relate to yourself in a way that encourages safety. I really like the IFS model for exploring this type of stuff, I’d highly recommend checking out the site:

      And there’s an IFS toolkit page on that site too that has links to guided meditations (I’ll be integrating a lot of this perspective in the next module of the Whole series I’m working on)

    What do you think of therapists who are convinced that ADHD is purely a symptom/ result of CPTSD and trauma? Personally I find it very frustrating. I believe there's often overlap but this position doesn't recognize or allow for what's unique about the ADHD experience and brain.

      I 100% agree with you. There is undoubtedly a trauma component for many many people, but it’s so much more complex than that. It really does show up uniquely in each person, as does every “disorder”. This whole journey is about getting to know ourselves as unique individuals.

    Do you take adhd medication? Along with meditation?

      Hey I actually don’t take meds (the cons outweighed the pros for me) but each person is unique and there’s definitely nothing wrong with taking meds. I drink tea and coffee and honestly don’t see them being all that different in the big picture. I made a video about it here:

    I've found through mindfulness I'm able to fine tune my mind to accomplish my goals in life. It's really weird. It seems like an extremely powerful tool, but i wonder if it can be dangerous if not used wisely. Any insight on this, or have I lost my marbles?

      To make Jude's question more specific, I suggest that you try to describe exactly what you mean when you say "fine tune my mind."
      Like, do you you mean getting all your marbles in a row? Organizing them by color or by size? Putting them all in a box? I'm just playing with suggestions here, not at all meaning that you should confine yourself to working with marbles. :-)

    Is it actually possible to stay focused or in other words not get distracted/ zone out in the first place? It doesn´t seem possible to me.

    Does meditation lower your attention power bar? I.e do we have an attention resource per day which runs out and we end up scattered?

      Great question. It’s like working out. If you have a good workout you’ll feel stronger and have more energy. If you overdo it you’ll be exhausted the rest of the day. Just don’t stress yourself out and you’ll be good. If you focus on relaxation and equanimity it will bring that energy into the rest of your day.

      @Being Integrated Interesting. I have high functioning autism. I do following the breath sitting meditation everyday. I have noticed for a while that i am aware of this low level hum of distraction while i sit...what has happened for a while now is as i sit i can sense concentration increasing and the low level hum slightly subside...then my body will sort of recoil from this stillness and i will begin shaking..i believe this is the kriya phenomenon.

      @@snudgegalbraith3447 yes absolutely sounds like a Kriya experience. Essentially releasing stuck energy in the body so the energy can flow more effectively. Opening the energy channels. Sounds like your practice is going well :)

      I don't think there's a set limit per day. You can boost with good food, exercise etc so I think although these things don't cure it they can give mini boosts to extend the focus time per day (although there are only so many hours in the day lol)
