Don't move! Your home and garden are awesome. The rooms in this Oakham home are so small. Your home is far more charming. It's location is a 👍.

This is the first time I’ve received a notification for your page in months! This is the first one of the homes on your home tour that I’ve seen. This one’s pretty.

I like your house tours. Why are you moving? Your house seems so lovely.

Love this house for you Elliot and Matt! Some things to consider: Having a utility sink in your laundry room is such a plus! It’s actually a perfect set up for the cat supplies and has easy access to water for their water bowls. Also, you could keep their feeding bowls in front of the back door as there’s another back door from the dinning/lounge area to access the backyard. It's really nice to have the larger bathrooms in this home, and with so many bedrooms, there is a studio for you, Elliot, and Matt, you could have a home office! You'll still have a room for parents or friends to visit, or as you said a walk-in wardrobe.

This is nice but why move when you’ve done so much redecorating, etc. where you live now. You have a lovely flat.❤️

I think the kitchen in here is a much better cooks kitchen because the worktop area is so much better...and the additional uninterrupted straight runs of cupboards are more accessible and are better for flexible storage than a pantry cupboard. This kitchen config gets my vote :)

Hey! Thanks for the video. We’re buying an Oakham. I dislike loo’s at the front door. The utility would act as a dumping cupboard as it’s not a room as such. The tv Ariel can be relocated before it’s installed by Countryside. :) Not keen on the main bathroom being next door to the master. Oakham all the way!!

    Hmmm...
Definitely not one of my favourites,
    But!
I do love the skylight windows, in the kitchen area, for that semi-conservatory feeling.

I was really excited by the front of the house and love the sitting room but then the kitchen... not enough pan drawers, no pull outs and the utility room is the wrong end! I'd hate going past the table to get to it and absolutely no space for a litter tray.

Hey again! Thanks for the video tour! We were here for the second time on Sat, measuring up. The boiler is a combi btw. It just needs an upstairs cylinder to add extra pressure for the larger house. The Velux blinds aren’t standard and would need buying in all Countryside. The taps are upgraded with quartz. We’re having a quartz kitchen and utility so will get decent taps in both.

Really pleased you enjoyed our tour. Thank you for leaving a comment. It’s very interesting to get other people’s take on the layout and personal requirements/preferences. Hope you enjoy your Oakham! The Quartz upgrade sounds perfect. It is a beautiful home. When is yours ready to move in?

Elliot & Matt British Life! Thanks! I was thinking exactly the same thing. Everyones individual take on a house is interesting. The front door loo comment from me, has stuck with me since being a kid and having people knock on the front door, just as you’re having a wee! Lol. We’re moving in mid April from a Victorian house. A complete change, but the Oakham has everything we need. We are sacrificing on our upstairs space - at present our rooms are large and our bathroom is a master bedroom size. However we’ll have an en-suite and study. The social space of the Oakham is fab, but I wish the kitchen was ‘U’ shaped. That being said, we can’t have it all.

Agree, it’s completely about individual priorities. For us it is downstairs being more important than up. We are also currently in a Victorian cottage built in 1840. So like you a complete departure! If you watch our weekly vlogs we show our home. We LOVE the very social kitchens of the Countryside homes. We have yet to pick a plot but have our names top of the list on a few yet to be released. So it’s a matter of when not if.

It occurred to me that there are more attached homes in your country than America. We have some but I suppose America has more room, yet Britain seems to have great areas of vacant land. Love the connection between you two.

    • @ElliotNMatt
      @ElliotNMatt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Steven, yes attached homes are very commonplace in U.K. it is to do with space and build costs. We do have large areas of countryside which is largely protected as ‘green belt’ land. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_belt Thanks for watching 😁

I knew a man from the UK years ago. He said the thing he noticed the difference between UK homes and American homes was Americans used one layer of brick while UK homes used two layers of brick.

I agree that I like the oakham better too snd love the Harry Potter cupboard! Both are very light and airy. How far from high street or city center to travel?

My son just bought a house in Tennessee and he has a Harry Potter closet! It’s so cute. I would have bought the house even if I didn’t like anything else! 😜😜😜😜

Why keep putting sofas in front of the radiator? Table should be where sitting area is and living area where table is...unless table and chairs wont squeeze in with room to pull out chairs

I did laugh ‘who wallpapers inside their wardrobe’ - the answer ‘no one’ - the wardrobes would have been fitted after the decorating - that’s why that little bit at the side has the same paper 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the rooms in new houses are so tiny aren’t they
