Built between 1917 and 1922, the Fordson tractor advanced mechanized agriculture away from draft horses and mules (such as the Ford Model T advanced transportation). In order to consolidate its core automotive businesses, Ford sold its tractor operation to FIAT in 1991. Under the arrangement, New Holland was allowed to use Ford branding for a limited time until around the year 2000.

Great to see Wellington New Zealand Ford plant, GM stopped making cars for right hand drive. Ford are making right hand drive Mustangs in USA and exporting all around the world,No wonder why the company is so successful.

I was amazed at how many factories and assembly plants Ford had.

Quite apart from tariffs and protectionism or the lack thereof, in 1948 it was physically no harder to load a crated CKD kit ("Completely Knocked Down") onto a ship than a completed car. Sometime in the 1960s that changed with oceangoing "Ro-Ro" (roll on, roll off) ships where cars completed to the point of being drivable can be, and are driven on board and driven off just as they would be from a river or lake ferry.

@@williamforbes5826 I believe it! Heck I wear shorts just about every day of the year, even in winter here in the mountains of East Tennessee. When I lived in Colorado, it was no different there either!

      @@kensmithgallery4432 What part of Colorado?
I have driven across US-50 and all of the Interstate highways in Colorado. I particularly like the ride through Glenwood Canyon.
And the state as a whole is quite spectacular.

@williamforbes5826 I lived in the mountains in a small town called Bailey, off of US 285 and lived in Castle Rock off of I-25. Then it got too everything else but what Colorado was for us and we relocated to East Tennessee in 2019
