    Great seeing the last video seeing it before the PDI! Just got my st here in Australia was cool tracking it and seeing it for the first time! Cool seeing what it's like when they ship it

    I went from a mp215 fiesta to the RS aswell, although I loved the fiesta and still do the focus is just awesome. My oil pressure and temp sits where yours did and take a lot longer to get there than the water which comes up quite quickly. The pops in normal mode only happen when you bury the throttle but aren't guaranteed, sport mode sorts that out 👍. I got quite excited when I found out that the top of the centre armrest slides forward, makes long motorway journeys more comfortable. Enjoy getting to know it, and your local petrol station attendant!

    Hi Mark! Thanks, I drove Ford Focus RS for the first time, ever, a few months back, just like you did, with 0 miles range shown, - but it was in the middle of the night, in the middle of Poland! Sorted it out, somehow, with my pants full of xxxx. But after that - pure joy. Not my car though, regretfully. The five Eastern European kids i exposed the RS to them the next day at Polish/Belourussian border are Ford customers for life now !

    So great to see you finally driving away... mine is almost ready, just awaiting the wheel spacers, but as I'm away in California for 2 weeks, won't be picking it up until June 3rd. So thanks for the proxy ride! I know I'll be as chuffed as you clearly are.

      3rd June can't come soon enough...I've done 1,100 miles now Doug and I still get just as excited each time I climb into the driver's seat!

      I hear you.....we have many kilometers of twisty, mountainous back roads in my part of Northland and they all need to be taught a lesson! I'm going to spend my entire vacation yearning to get home. We have a Fusion as a rental, but no comparison there. It's like waiting for Christmas as a 5 year old!

    • @MarkCup70
      @MarkCup70  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice :D
      No paint protection, no time, I was too keen to drive it. I do hand-wash it every couple of weeks, if after a year or two or three there's any paint damage that needs correcting, I'll probably get it corrected.
      Tips?
      Run it in sensitively then drive it hard. Watch the back end if it's raining though, they're quite loose. I had a proper moment on the way into work this morning...gently feeding the power in exiting a roundabout then oooh, hello side window.

    • @thefiestaguy8831
      @thefiestaguy8831 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since this comment 4 years ago. My Focus ST-2's engine blew. I now have a BMW 335D X Drive on a 67 reg which has 313Bhp and 630Nm of torque. 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Absolute rocket of a car and reasonably efficient too. 36Mpg on B roads and I got as high as 45Mpg on a long motorway drive the other day. Not bad from a 3L diesel.

    • @MarkCup70

    • @thefiestaguy8831
      @thefiestaguy8831 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkCup70 Indeed. Leaves most cars behind and the X Drive system has gripped so well on any of the challenging roads I've driven it on. Only had it a few days but already very impressed. Just a shame it came with run flats from 2 different brands, the grip is not the best.

    bet you are loving the car! It's a shame you didn't go straight from the mr230 to this. would of been good to see your reaction without having the i10 inbetween, as going from the i10 to the rs would be a hugeee change, my mr230 was in the workshop and I had a 1.0 ibiza for a week and getting back to the st was like an animal, Lord only knows the difference you feel from an i10 to this lol

    • @MarkCup70
      @MarkCup70  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Having just been out for a rip through the Sussex Downs I'm still grinning as I type this! I'm glad of the i10 as it made the RS feel like an exocet missile when I drove away. If I'd gone straight from my MR230 ST I don't think it would have felt anywhere near as brutal...the ST in that state was such a rapid, direct, and capable thing.

    • @matt12345b
      @matt12345b 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MarkCup70 I bet you are Mark! one thing the st doesn't have that the rs does is those lovely pop's/bangs,sounds childish but I just can't help it! And I agree, the experience when you get used to the performance of a sports car... then go into a normal car for at least a week, the moment you get back into a sports car (the rs in your case) the feeling is mind blowing, I still love my mr230 the car is an animal! especially on a nice dry cold night, can't wait to see more of your videos! enjoy the car

    • @MarkCup70

      Martin Pratley I certainly shouldn't have! I know some like to add every option possible... for me it was about making the perfect daily driver and in this spec is exactly that, perfect for me. I'll be doing a video on my spec and why it was right for me soon.

    • @michaelb9757
      @michaelb9757 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here stateside, the RS2 package gives you these seats essentially. Maybe more bolstering? Anyway, the plastic backing on the RS2 variant y’all have available to you seems tacky in my opinion. I find odd the small differences though. It’s quite funny how they can find ways to nickel and dime you no matter what side of the pond you lay your head. I really with the folding mirrors and the cover over the cup holders was standard here. Y’all can take the garbage auto start/stop, I’ll trade for the mirrors lol.

  • @fishatethecat

    Glad you've finally got your hands on it. Can't wait to see you put it through it's paces! Any idea how loud it is for the static db test? Just got me thinking as I'm doing Thruxton on Monday which has a very tight static 90db limit.

    • @MarkCup70
      @MarkCup70  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow...90db is low Philip! I'm not sure on the RS but next time I'm at Goodwood as a visitor I'm going to speak to the marshalls and find out if I'll have to lift off every time I pass the sound meters.

    • @fishatethecat
      @fishatethecat 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you'll be fine at Goodwood. 98db is still very loud. Don't see too many cars fail that, and there's always the Cat 2 days at 105db with all the supercars. I bet you could embarrass a lot of them with that car and your driving.

    Congratulations! I really like the spec. I'd probably also order it magnetic gray with silver rims. I'm just hesitating because all the forums are full of people with engine failures and absolutely zero communication from Ford's side. That really keeps me from jumping on it :-/ I'm probably crazy. What do you think of that?
    Anyway, have fun with this awesome car!

    • @MarkCup70
      @MarkCup70  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I'm even more convinced on the colour now after almost 2 months and 3k miles...it's an RS to those that know, and simply a diesel Titanium to those that don't. Perfect! As for the engine the actual failure rate so far seems to be something like 0.5% - with an extended 5yr/100k mile warranty I'll happily take those odds...the smiles and grins it gives when exiting corners more than makes up for any concerns!

    • @sveeny
      @sveeny 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Now that's an argument! I guess you are right. The only thing that bothers me is that if I fit a custom exhaust (which I plan on doing) that this might void the warranty even though it has nothing to do with a possible engine death... We will see. Thanks anyway and lots of fun with your exciting car!

      Failure rate as far as we (Joe public know) or drip fed b Ford employees quoting figures on affected owners or might be affected owners TH-cam entries,I believe. Nothing quoted by Ford MC global or by Area. No recall and non quoted VIN Nose affected. Customers expected to extended R&D test mules. The all the CS shit is exposed.
