this is probably the most scariest game I've ever tried playing! not only with the alien constantly adapting to your playstyle. but also because the game is great at building tension. once the alien first appears, it is a constant threat to you. no matter where you go and what enemies you are also dealing with, it will always be after you. the only good thing is the alien also kills all other human enemies you might run into.
Definitely gotta say, this will be a *must-watch* for me should you ever decide to play it on your channel... so much so, I'm willing to set a dozen alarms for it, so I can wake up and not miss it during my otherwise sleepy nighttime EU hours. 😅 Here's a thing I'd like to point out by the way: I've seen comments from some people saying this game is way overrated, and I can kinda see why they'd come to this sort of conclusion (it's true, the game is pretty darn long for a title in the horror genre and contains lots of backtracking, too). However that's not really the point; you see: I've been a HUGE, massive fan of the entire "Alien" franchise ever since I can remember, so I went into this game with absolutely zero expectations of it being frightening for me. I know what the creature is, I know what it looks like and what it does in the movies, so I was like: "Okay... this is gonna be a walk in the park then, huh." Oh boy, was I wrong! (And I _LOVE_ being wrong in such cases) - what this game without a single shred of doubt *masters* is the atmosphere: visuals, sound effects, music, tension, the whole setting... and then there's the Alien's brilliant, adaptive AI that's incredibly unpredictable. I wasn't even half an hour into the game and my palms were _sweating_ (which normally doesn't happen very often). I've played games like Outlast, which are pretty good as well, but once you start seeing patterns in those (e.g. in the enemies' movement) the scare-factor kinda falls apart. Alien: Isolation *will* keep you on the edge of your seat (despite dragging itself out), and that's why it's getting such high recommendations. It definitely has mine. 👍
Alien isolation is one truly incredible and amazing game, very well designed to fit the alien movies. And the xenomorph itself had a AI designed solely for it. When I played it, I felt truly tense. Fantastic video. As always keep being awesome. I hope you do play alien isolation, it's a true experience.
8:03 Pretty sure this takes place between Alien when Ripley was lost in space and Aliens when she was eventually found. Aliens 3 is when she gave birth to the alien baby and kills herself. Aliens(4) Resurrection is the one with the white alien.
The game had a cool idea where the xenomorph is driven by a more advanced AI script compared to other games. So as the player tries to hide or use traps or whatever to get around the xenomorph, it'll adapted and become more effective as time goes on at hunting the player. I think it's spawning was also governed by this (eg. staying in a room for too long makes it appear more in that room). The other problem is the player is given tasks to do while being hunted and you can't actually kill the thing. Gameplay wise, it's closer to Outlast than RE7 in that regard. But it works better because it's not relying on a trigger to spawn the alien. Like most games work by you walk down a hallway and cross an invisible trigger then monster jumps through a wall for example. If you know that's going to happen it's not that scary the second time around. This the Alien can pop up anywhere at any time, so you have no way of knowing when it's going to pop up. That approach is kind of a double edge sword to be honest. There are a few games that have the game adjusting he difficulty for the player, but you tend to reach a point where the game over adjusts, and it becomes too hard for the player. In this case, it can get to the point where the xenomorph just beelines it to you even around corners if it learns too much which makes it more frustrating than scary if it happens too much as the thing is faster than you and if it caches you, your kind of just dead. But until you reach that point it's a very terrifying game.
I found you two because of the DBD killer trailer reactions, since then I always watch some videos of this channel😄 Now I'm happily surprised about reacting to Alien Isolation. I recently started playing the game and it's actually fun. In a scary way. The AI of the Alien is amazing, especially since you cannot kill it. The first trailer said "Run" but I learned that running isn't an option against the Xeno. But not only Xeno will attack, there are also many Androids and humans who have it out for you. Would love to see you guys playing it.
Now I've played alot of scary games. Even from those where your character is the killer (looking at you The Darkness games) but this here. This game was the first game that actually terrified me. I hope you guys get to see all the deaths like you did with deadspace!
Alien Isolation takes place 15 years after Alien. It sets up a really nice side story line featuring Ellen Ripley's daughter. I love this game. The developers got it all right, story and characters, sound and lighting, visual and level design. I think its one of the best games ever made. I recommend it even though I don't play many horror games. Ellen Ripley died at the end of Alien 3, and was cloned in Alien Resurrection (the one with Winona Ryder).
This game has mastered suspense. A friend of mind threw his controller against the wall and quit about half way through lol They also have a setting to pick up your voice, so if you make an involuntary noise from being startled, it can alert the Alien.
This game takes place 15 years after the events of the first film from 1979 after Ellen Ripley sets the self destruct on the Nostromo hoping the kill it. She couldn't make it to her daughters 11th birthday. That's why Amanda Ripley is searching for her mother.
Definitely a must play horror game if u love horror or aliens or games. It delivers a wholly complete story in great style and quality. Enjoy it to the max you two.
The best game I have ever played. I preordered it, about now in 2014. It worked perfect, on my antiquated system (I have to wind up the graphics card every morning) .. straight out of the box, no patches needed (it would later get one patch to allow for a Nightmare mode and super easy mode) The music in this game, and sound design generally, is incredible. The music changes as the ALIEN gets closer to you (and it's one-hit-kill if that thing sees you - terrifying!) The addition of the motion tracker just makes things worse - as you can see the ALIEN coming towards you on the screen. It induces sheer panic!
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames + its manual save points - you can't just save-scum. Terrifying one-hit-kill monster is lurking in the air-ducts, and brazenly stomping through the corridors like it owns the place (it does!) None of the trailers give a true impression of the best character in the game ... the space station .. a grotty, run-down, cheap-as-chips, 1970s, holiday camp of a station. It's beautifully abysmal. Definitely deserves the award for "best horror setting"
Alien Isolation is TERRIFYING! It doesn't help that the Xenomorph is controlled by 2 different computers, one that actually controls its movements, and one that learns how the player approaches the game, making it one of the most dangerous computer controlled monsters ever developed. I've only ever beaten this game once, and it was one of the most terrifying experiences I've ever had, and I'd LOVE to see you experience it too!
I think this takes place between alien and aliens? I remember in the intro to aliens Ripley got told she was in cryo for like 30 something years?? So it must be before that part in the timeline
This was my first ever horror game when I first got the ps4 and ngl,I didn't think much of it at first when I was watching a couple playthroughs of this game but little did I know, I was in for the most terrifying experience ever and I had an absolute blast getting absolutely scared shi***ss
Alien Isolation is set between Alien and Aliens. Ellen Ripley is lost in space for 57 years between those two movies. In the Director's Cut of Aliens there is a added scene where Ellen Ripley gets informed that her daughter died in the meantime. Alien Isolation very much leans into the aesthetics and atmosphere of the first movie. Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection are very weird but they are irrelevant for this game.
There's are only two games I've ever played where I felt really absorbed and terrified - Outlast and Alien Isolation. This game is an absolute masterpiece of creation and excels at making you wish you where playing it sat on the toilet.
Its definitely a fun game that pays alot of homage to the original Alien, the developer nailed the atmosphere and level design as it really feels like its a part of the universe. But yeah as others said the game takes place inbetween Alien and Aliens, with you playing as Eleanor Ripleys Daughter who only gets briefly mentioned in the movies.
This reminds me of an image SEGA had of the Xenomorph, Sonic, Bayonetta, and AI-AI near a couple of stockings to celebrate Christmas, we've tried to get them to answer what exactly was the purpose of the picture and they always dodge the question
Oh you guys are in for a treat trust me I have videos of me playing (and I have more to edit and post 😅😅) you would definitely would have a great time playing it
Alien Isolation takes place after the first Movie and before the second, you take on the role of Amanda Ripley, Helen Ripley’s daughter who is trying to find clues to her mother’s disappearance
Ah the game that still scarys me till this day The freaking alien is terrifying in this game Also whatever you do in this do not run absolute do not run This game takes place between alien(1)and aliens(2)
I've been playing video games most of my child and adult life. I am pretty desensitized to violence, gore, and jump scares. Alien isolation is a genuinely unnerving experience
Alien Isolation is the true sequel to the first alien. It is beyond excellent and one of the greatest survival horror games ever made. I honestly cannot stand what James Cameron said about alien. He said "the xenomorph can't be scary anymore because people have already seen what it looks like" he turned the franchise into an action style and I'm not a fan of Aliens the sequel he made. The first alien was a cosmic horror powerhouse and the sequel reduced them to bugs or ants with a queen etc. Alien Isolation, in my mind, is the true sequel, spiritual successor, or otherwise. The atmosphere, the tension, the fear, the sound design, and the designs are all top notch from an, at the time, inexperienced developer. The developers had the first Alien movie playing on a big TV at their office 24/7 while making the game. It's truly fantastic.
This is a great game and does a good job of being faithful to the original movie. Definitely worth playing through and look forward to seeing you do just that.
Ah, the Xenomorph. Anyone else kinda root for the aliens more so than the humans just because they’re so cool? Just me? Yeah… The scariest part of Isolation is the fact that the Alien has a learning AI. The fact that the Alien is so friggin smart but a just one of the things that makes this game terrifying. The best part it’s that it acts just a tad different _every play-through,_ so no two people get the same experience. Such an immersive horror title, now if we could only get a modern day Predator game that’s this good. Can’t wait to see you guys touch on this game, it’ll be well worth the wait.
Have you heard of Scorn? It is a Scifi Horror game in a H.R. Giger optic. So far the trailers look calm but creepy and more focused on body horror and atmosphere.
This game is a master piece a must have this is one my all time favourites actually with resident evil alien can act strange to once it saw me and did its scream to go kill u but then it did nothing and actually shows when u first meet face huggers in 1st film there my nightmare just for love of god dont run iv seen people do it such a epic game so wish there was another one hope u enjoy it!
Playing this game the normal way is one thing. Downloading the VR mod for this game and playing the game in VR (HOLY SH*T THIS IS SCARY!) is another. P.S. Isolation is set between Alien & Aliens
My greatest disappointment is that it never got a PSVR mode. RE7 in VR is so fucking amazing (it took me 10 minutes just to get up the nerve to enter the house at the start, no joke) and I would love to have played this in VR.
Definitely the best alien video game out there. Bought it when it first came out and played through all the difficulty levels. the game is quite long and wanders a bit from about two thirds of the way through. The best part is the alien and when it's hunting you it can be tense and brutal.
Alien Isolation is one of those games that will give you a heart attack (especially if you play it in VR), each time you face against the Alien, he gets smarter and the previous tactics won't work on him anymore. For instance if you use flamethrower to scare him off too much, he will eventually gets used to it and the flamethrower becomes less and less effective. Unfortunately the game didn't sell enough for the publisher to greenlit the sequel, horror games don't sell as much as other genres.
But there is such a huge horror fan base that is surprising 🤔 also all the big streamers seem to play horror games (in addition to stuff like Minecraft)
Here's something scarier about the game, the Alien's AI can ADAPT, don't hide in certain spots too long, or the Alien will learn to check those spots more often! I personally find it cool, and certainly makes me more tense when I learned this, I hope you'll be just as scared knowing this with me!
The AI in this game is so terrifying. At the hardest difficulty you never know when the Alien will come after you and from where. And it hunts after you super agressively. Also if you REALLY want a scare and haven't played it nor seen the trailers. Dead Space. They are making a re-release. That game totaly will raise your pulse and keep you on edge all the time.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames 3 was sadly enough, quite a let down. It was hard to overlook the severe cashgrab they were trying to do with the game. But it is EA we are talking about. It had some potential, but they dropped the ball pretty hard with the co-op gameplay. You could tell they had cut out content in hopes to make people pay more for more content later. And it backfired so hard it pretty much killed the franchise. Which is why I am so happy to see this re-release. It has given me a little hope of a sequel *Takes a big wiff of copium *
@@MangaManiac Dead Space 3 definitely dropped the ball compared to the other two, but I still enjoyed my playthrough with a friend. The gameplay is still fine and it's got co-op, it just isn't scary.
This game was terrifying to play. I don't know how but i managed to finish the game. Being constantly hounded by the alien and you can't kill it makes it worse. Even on the easiest setting this game felt difficult. But this is an awesome game.
If you guys plan on playing this, I'd reccommend watching this old video o The developers made that explains how the Alien itself works, very informative and impressive too
YES!!!! This game is near and dear to my heart. When you know about the history of the alien game franchise and this absolute masterpiece of a horror game came out when the alien games had arguably hit rock buttom with aliens: colonial marines it is even more impressive that it actually came out and become such a good game. When you also factor in that it is developed by Creative assembly, a company that excel in Strategy games (total war: warhammer for example) it just shows that all the stars aligned for us alien fans. You have too play this game to experience the horror because the alien's AI is out of this world. The emergent gameplay that arise from its sheer unpredictability, tenacity is unparralelled in my opinion as it hunts you down. What i am trying to say. Play this game but be prepared to very very scared.
Huge fan of alien movies. You must play it if you get a chance. It was an amazing experience. One of the best games I have played. Amazing lifelike graphics too. I promise you won't be disappointed. 😊
I'm a big fan of the Alien franchise with Sagori Weaver(I think that's how you spell her name). I bought the game on sale but forgot to play it,plus I'm a scary cat when it comes to horror games.
This game WILL make you mess your pants....I have completed it once, been working on hardest difficulty completion for quite some time lol Game gives me a heart attack every time I play.
The developers were so commited to accurately replicating the 70's sci-fi aesthetic of the original film they usesd actual VHS tapes and CRT's to record the in game monitors, hitting and distorting them to get that authentic "damaged" look. th-cam.com/video/yL8tmDVlCFo/w-d-xo.html
This game is very scary and horror once going in 😨 but this game be more scary with Vr experience and you have to listen carefully once roaming around the ship till the end.
Loved the game Sometimes I replay It just to see the scenery Or to feel hunted..weird I know That aside It's just amazing kinda feels like you're walking on a movie set
So Between Alien and Predator who will you choice to survive and be hunted? I'll will personally choice Predator unlike Alien since that little guy sneaks up on you out of nowhere even when you are not making lots noise etc but with the Predator I atleast got a surviving chance to fight back as well an honorable death. Your thoughts?

not only with the alien constantly adapting to your playstyle. but also because the game is great at building tension. once the alien first appears, it is a constant threat to you. no matter where you go and what enemies you are also dealing with, it will always be after you. the only good thing is the alien also kills all other human enemies you might run into.
The powerful Ripley was a clone made with a mix of xenomorph dna. She also had acid blood if I remember correctly
I know what the creature is, I know what it looks like and what it does in the movies, so I was like: "Okay... this is gonna be a walk in the park then, huh."
Oh boy, was I wrong!
We will for sure play it just not sure when 🤗
8:03 Pretty sure this takes place between Alien when Ripley was lost in space and Aliens when she was eventually found. Aliens 3 is when she gave birth to the alien baby and kills herself. Aliens(4) Resurrection is the one with the white alien.
Thanks for breaking down the timeline 🙂😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I swear I'm not doing it on purpose, it's my OCD! I have to provide context where possible 😭
Reminds me alot of soma also a first person horror game. they made a couple interesting cinematics for it i think you guys would love!
Thanks for letting us know. Believe game was on our list but we didn’t know much about it 🙂
Now I've played alot of scary games. Even from those where your character is the killer (looking at you The Darkness games) but this here. This game was the first game that actually terrified me. I hope you guys get to see all the deaths like you did with deadspace!
Oh wow. That’s quite an endorsement for the game 😀 we will check out the deaths after we play this most likely 🙂
A friend of mind threw his controller against the wall and quit about half way through lol
They also have a setting to pick up your voice, so if you make an involuntary noise from being startled, it can alert the Alien.
This game takes place 15 years after the events of the first film from 1979 after Ellen Ripley sets the self destruct on the Nostromo hoping the kill it. She couldn't make it to her daughters 11th birthday. That's why Amanda Ripley is searching for her mother.
This game was ahead of it’s time
Definitely a must play horror game if u love horror or aliens or games. It delivers a wholly complete story in great style and quality. Enjoy it to the max you two.
The best game I have ever played.
I preordered it, about now in 2014.
It worked perfect, on my antiquated system (I have to wind up the graphics card every morning) .. straight out of the box, no patches needed (it would later get one patch to allow for a Nightmare mode and super easy mode)
The music in this game, and sound design generally, is incredible.
The music changes as the ALIEN gets closer to you (and it's one-hit-kill if that thing sees you - terrifying!)
The addition of the motion tracker just makes things worse - as you can see the ALIEN coming towards you on the screen. It induces sheer panic!
Oh crap one hit kills? 😳 we will be dying a lot playing this 😂
Omggggg you two!!! I’d love to see you both play this ❤
We will just not sure when 🤗🙂
I LOVED THIS GAME SO MUCH!! IT WAS EXTREMELY SCARY and also a little rage inducing. OVERALL I LOVED IT!
Haha, we heard it can get frustrating with how smart the Alien is 😝
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames + its manual save points - you can't just save-scum.
Terrifying one-hit-kill monster is lurking in the air-ducts, and brazenly stomping through the corridors like it owns the place (it does!)
None of the trailers give a true impression of the best character in the game ... the space station .. a grotty, run-down, cheap-as-chips, 1970s, holiday camp of a station. It's beautifully abysmal. Definitely deserves the award for "best horror setting"
This game is the perfect sequel to Alien, and the perfect prequel to Aliens. And it always gives me anxiety whenever i play it
Alien Isolation is TERRIFYING!
That makes sense 🙂
This was my first ever horror game when I first got the ps4 and ngl,I didn't think much of it at first when I was watching a couple playthroughs of this game but little did I know, I was in for the most terrifying experience ever and I had an absolute blast getting absolutely scared shi***ss
Hell yeah! Can’t wait 😀🫣😨😁
4:45 I know right?! 😂
Thanks for giving us the setting for this 🙂
There's are only two games I've ever played where I felt really absorbed and terrified - Outlast and Alien Isolation.
😎👍🙂
This reminds me of an image SEGA had of the Xenomorph, Sonic, Bayonetta, and AI-AI near a couple of stockings to celebrate Christmas, we've tried to get them to answer what exactly was the purpose of the picture and they always dodge the question
Oh you guys are in for a treat trust me I have videos of me playing (and I have more to edit and post 😅😅) you would definitely would have a great time playing it
We look forward to the experience 🙂
Alien is really one of the most scary games, and the Alien AI is still crazy good to even this day.
😎🤟
Alien Isolation takes place after the first Movie and before the second, you take on the role of Amanda Ripley, Helen Ripley’s daughter who is trying to find clues to her mother’s disappearance
As i expected... Another wonderful reaction :)
😊🤗
Ah the game that still scarys me till this day
The freaking alien is terrifying in this game
Also whatever you do in this do not run absolute do not run
This game takes place between alien(1)and aliens(2)
Thanks for the tip. Hide over run ✅
😎🤟 sounds like a game we have to experience
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames you really should. Especially this month
This is a great game and does a good job of being faithful to the original movie. Definitely worth playing through and look forward to seeing you do just that.
Gonna be a scary one 🫣
Ah, the Xenomorph. Anyone else kinda root for the aliens more so than the humans just because they’re so cool? Just me? Yeah…
The scariest part of Isolation is the fact that the Alien has a learning AI.
That’s cool that replaying this game is pretty much always a new experience because the AI adapts 😀 look foresee to playing the game 😁
Also, our dog Abbie roots for the aliens 😜 No joke. She sits up at full attention to look at the tv every time the Xenomorph comes on 😂
This was pretty cool. Great reaction
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Have you heard of Scorn? It is a Scifi Horror game in a H.R. Giger optic. So far the trailers look calm but creepy and more focused on body horror and atmosphere.
Have it on our list to check out at some point 😅
The AI for the xenomorph in this game was so terrifyingly fantastic. Been a long time since a game had my adrenaline running like that
This game is a master piece a must have this is one my all time favourites actually with resident evil alien can act strange to once it saw me and did its scream to go kill u but then it did nothing and actually shows when u first meet face huggers in 1st film there my nightmare just for love of god dont run iv seen people do it such a epic game so wish there was another one hope u enjoy it!
I love this game, one of my favorites, it is hard but it has an excellent story
Look forward to playing it 😀
This game takes place in between the first and second film, while Ripley was in cryo sleep
Oh wow. Haven’t done the VR experience but can only imagine how freaky this would be 😳🫣😨
Definitely the best alien video game out there. Bought it when it first came out and played through all the difficulty levels. the game is quite long and wanders a bit from about two thirds of the way through. The best part is the alien and when it's hunting you it can be tense and brutal.
I still have to finish this. Some other game came out that I'd been waiting on and I stopped and never got back to it...
Love the Alien franchise! 🙏🏽
🥳🥳
Ah yes my favourite horror game of all time
:3 I own a copy for the PS4, 360, and the novelization
Same
Hey you guys should react to Halloween Ends trailer th-cam.com/video/s0vtbxLa-N8/w-d-xo.html 🎃
😀
Here's something scarier about the game, the Alien's AI can ADAPT, don't hide in certain spots too long, or the Alien will learn to check those spots more often!
I personally find it cool, and certainly makes me more tense when I learned this, I hope you'll be just as scared knowing this with me!
Damn 😳 but spamming is our thing 😂 we will have to learn like the AI and adapt. We can outwit a computer…maybe 🤗
You guys should check out Scorn and it's trailer. Seeing that it's October it'll be cool to see what you think of a nightmare fule game.
😯 sounds like a spooky game
The AI in this game is so terrifying. At the hardest difficulty you never know when the Alien will come after you and from where. And it hunts after you super agressively.
Also if you REALLY want a scare and haven't played it nor seen the trailers. Dead Space. They are making a re-release. That game totaly will raise your pulse and keep you on edge all the time.
Can’t wait to play the rerelease of Dead Space. Bethany has never played it but I played it back In the day and like 1 and 2. Never got to playing 3 🤔
Alien Isolation took years off my life.
That scary 😧
I understand your dog,
I root for the Alien as well, even tho Ripley is a badass in the movies
If you guys plan on playing this, I'd reccommend watching this old video o
The developers made that explains how the Alien itself works, very informative and impressive too
Thanks for the review of the game and endorsement to play it. We will be ready to be scared 🙂
Sigourney Weaver. It's actually her stage name, her real name is Susan.
This game, many fans wanted a sequel. But the developers just never answered the people.
Too bad 😢
I love all of the alien series!
couldnt play this game anymore actually. The theme and the feeling in there is freaking INSANE.
I would watch you guys play this game, and I bet I’m not the only one
hey guys i love your reactions on a lot of my favorite games and would love to see your reaaction to dota2 true sight.
Can you too do a reaction of don’t hug me I’m scared for Halloween?
Can’t promise it. 🤗 but it is one of the vids on our request list 🙂
This is the best movie of the series. This game wins.
😎🤟🤩
This game WILL make you mess your pants....I have completed it once, been working on hardest difficulty completion for quite some time lol Game gives me a heart attack every time I play.
It would be cool if you guys reacted to Aliens fire team Elite then played as a duo. That game is pretty fun
We did the first part already th-cam.com/video/XriU8sBtinU/w-d-xo.html 🙂
the AI in this game is incredible, would love to see you play this xD
That game was so scary, especially when playing in the dark, almost sh*t myself a lot of time.
Good trailers
😎🤟
This game takes place between ALIEN (1) and ALIENS (2)
Thanks! 😎👍😀
Please you have to play this game, it's one of the best games ever in my opinion and the best thing is it's a game from 2014!!!🤯🤩
We plan to play it just not sure when 🤔🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeeeeaaaaahhhh!!! Coooooll, thank you🤩🥳
I like this game but felt wasn't much of a story lil cutscenes and not a game I want to come back to but I do love how scary the aliens was lol
Awesome vid! Love the alien series’s. Perhaps the chainsaw man trailers next?
That’s a series right? 🤔
This game is very scary and horror once going in 😨 but this game be more scary with Vr experience and you have to listen carefully once roaming around the ship till the end.
VR 🫣
Loved the game
Sometimes I replay It just to see the scenery
Or to feel hunted..weird I know
That aside It's just amazing kinda feels like you're walking on a movie set
“Walking on a movie set” cool way to describe it 🙂
Scariest game I’ve ever played. Still haven’t finished it. Stress levels to the max
This game is very creepy. Even the noise you make while wearing your mic can alert the Xenomorph
this game is awesome and scary as hell.
It's a shame this game didn't sell very well. It's extremely well made, very scary, and a must-play for fans.
Hello i really like your’e video’s but i have a question. Can you do react to all gta online trailers pls that will make my day
We have that in our request list to check out at some point 🤗
