Your house, your rules. Get rid of toxic people asap. My daughter-in-law was a user, and once I stopped helping financially she used my grandbaby to hurt me, but what she expected wasn't what she saw. Once we fell off, she said: "Well if you don't want to help, then I'll move my baby and your son to Utah!" To that I said: "That sounds great! I'll help with the move, when do you guys leave?" They left, my son divorced her and my grandbaby is still in my life.😅😂

I have had an issue like that at my house. I said my house my rules, the door open for you to get out. If I have to assist to get you out I WILL! This all happened to me after my husband passed away of cancer and I still lived on the ranch. Our part of the ranch. I got my property, my part of the ranch, when my husband died. His brother was mad cause I inherited the property at my husbands death. He thought it would go back to him cause my FIL is deceased. The thing is my MIL must have thought so too because she decided to go to the probate of the will with me. Which was fine. I didn’t know she thought her other boys would get it turned back to her. lol then she started to be a sneak and started to be nasty to me. About 5 yrs after my husband died. I said ok then I’ll solve the problem. I’ll sell. Then They wanted me to sell it to one of their sons for about 1/4 of what it was worth. I said nope! No can do. I’m a widow. Gotta have enough money for me to get another place. So I did.

Yup. Since she was finally leaving after almost a decade overdue, they agreed to everything she wanted to be free of her after the wedding.
Unfortunately even if the wedding succeeded, she'd be back coz I don't think anyone can live long-term with that woman.
They didn't let her mature enough to be able to live without them. They'll probably be stuck with her for a long time.

It is OP's house and property. It is her decision alone as to whether someone can use her house and property. SIL and in laws both lied and committed to SIL's fiancé and his parents that they were using OP's house and property without first getting permission from OP or even mentioning that they did not own it. What complete and total morons! Especially with a pool, having a wedding at a property with a pool is a potential huge financial liability. If someone was injured or died on the property (especially relevant due to the pool and alcohol being served during the wedding), OP could have ended up being sued for millions.
The in laws used emotional blackmail to try to get OP to agree. "Our reputation depends on this!"
Then SIL had the audacity to not even invite OP to the wedding in OP's own house. "I don't want her at my wedding!" What a total brat! Because it is a private home, I would not allow someone to use my property for something as messy and potentially destructure and also a major legal liability (especially with a pool) as a wedding if I am not present.
I do not blame OP for changing the locks and telling the wedding planner that the "venue" could not be used any longer and to find another venue. Bratty SIL lost her venue because of her own behavior.
Her fiancé finally realized what a huge mistake he had made in getting engaged to SIL when he found out the truth about the property ownership and what SIL had done. Life lesson for everyone: do not lie to a banker.

If I didn’t witness a similar situation in real life- I would not believe it but I saw it in my own family. My aunt lied to her “boyfriend” from overseas- He gave her money to buy a house-- she didn’t use the money to buy a house. So when he said he was coming to see the house she convinced her sister to tell the lie that the house they both shared was actually his!?!
Her sister ( Aunt #2) went along with story and even moved out of master bedroom into spare room. Well they didn’t cover up the lies good enough!?! They didn’t move my aunt# 2 closet nor her sons closet out of Master ( son was 6 at the time). 6 year old kept going into room to get toys and stuff! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🙈
The boyfriend asked why there was so many people at the house? Aunt #1 had 3 kids and Aunt# 2 had 1 son. They all lived in that house. ( there are 9 brothers and sisters in my aunts family and they come over every weekend to hang out.) he asked her to kick everyone out of “his” house.
She lied. And said she can’t kick them out? He said why not since this is his house that he paid for. Then all the arguing started to happen in front of the whole family. She kept lying- and he finally asked what did she do with the money he gave her and is this really his house? She finally explain that this was actually Aunt # 2 house and that she helps pay the mortgage. But that this is not his house. She gave no explanation of where the money he gave her went. He left right after. He was there a total of 36 hours before lies unraveled!
The whole family told this overseas boyfriend nothing- they let him figure it out for himself. I still don’t believe it- if I didn’t witness this. ( I was 14 at the time, still a child and you don’t involve yourself in adult conversation but enough to understand this is not how you do it! )

I would have requested that the in laws pay for short term liability insurance on my property for 3 million dollars as a condition for using the property for the wedding.
I use to drive seniors (elderly) for Catholic Charities when I was younger. I had to carry as a driver and owner of the car $1.5 million liability insurance on my car. This was decades ago. We still carry that much liability insurance on our cars. My husband decided it was a good precaution.

For start she would need your permission to have her wedding at your home. Plus she thinks she can say you can't be at your home get a grip no way can she dictate what happens there. The inlaws are a disgrace if they think her getting married at YOUR HOUSE, I would have done the same the mans family need to know the truth she uses people for money and the house is yours not her family

I have come to realize that these stories are fiction written by aspiring writers of melodrama. Way too over the top to be real. But using someone's house as a wedding venue and not allowing them at the wedding is 'the limit', a wonderful term I learned reading Galsworthy.

There's also a possibility that during the night, SIL will look through OPs belongings for the house's deed / title, and then somehow transfer the property to herself to make "her house" to be truly hers.

You don't need an invitation to a wedding that is being held in your house. You just tell them you aren't going anywhere and will be there or there will be no wedding. And if that bothers them, they can write the tooth fairy about it. Also, what was she planning after the wedding when they would be leaving? I have a feeling sil was planning on them staying.

This story sounds so ridiculous it sounds Iike an episode from a drama. The sister in law sounds terrible. It does suck that the wedding got cancelled that way, but I mostly feel for the husband and guests. I can’t believe the parents went along with that. She was going to not allow higher brother to come to her wedding or his house because she can’t stand his wife? And then she was going to force them to get a hotel room? Ok I can pretend to get the hotel in order to keep up the lie, but she should pay for the hotel room for them. Plus did this clueless girl not think about when she is supposed to be bringing her husband to visit her parents house in the future? How would they visit over the unknown future years frequently if the house doesn’t belong to her parents?

    • @rollothecat2010
      @rollothecat2010 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

It is footage from a video game. It bothers me too (I have one medical issue), but I am trying very hard to ignore the moving video background because I like the content from Reddit.
Because this is presented as a video, they have to find video content to use as background on the video. They can either pay for video background (which ups the cost of making the video) or in some cases like this, they record video from playing a video game and use it as background. If you own the video game, it is an inexpensive way of coming up with a video background. They could also just record some video using their phone from a hike in a park or something like that. Or record a video of ducks swimming in a lake or something similar. This channel owner obviously likes video games. So people like me just have to endure it. I am going to limit myself to one video with a game background per day.
(I need to take a pain reliever cuz my head already hurts. I have had migraines since I was 18. My son has had them since he was 7. I really feel bad for him inheriting migraine tendency from me! Yes, they are genetic. I cannot take rx triptans, which work really well, any more because of other medication interactions. )

Why not skip over the back story here, and focus on the immediate problem. Tell her quite simply that she must find another venue. You don't want to be seen as a witch on the wedding day--you'll come off really badly if everyone arrives and the door is locked. Instead, tell her you don't feel comfortable with the present arrangement. After all, what are your legal liabilities? What if someone drowns in your pool? And what if one of her guests gets drunk and crashes on the way back home? There are plenty of states that would find you liable because your guests went off inebriated.
