    I had green light surgery for a huge enlarged prostate. Then The Dr. put me on Avodart. A few months ago I junked it. I eat pumpkin seeds & sunflower seeds every day and have been doing so since I was in elementary school. I take a pumpkin seed oil capsule every second day too. One thing you missed that is extremely good for enlarged prostate is nettle root extract which I plan to add also. I'm 79 & peeing like a teenager!

      It's crazy how different sizes you get with prostates, but were the drugs somehow not working before surgery, or was it the doctors opinion that the surgery would be the lesser evil, because there was the possibility of prostate emergencies without the surgery? Also, you're peeing well before the nettle root you said, are you going to be peeing like a baby if you add the nettle?

    • @carlor.s.4742
      @carlor.s.4742 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@germank7924 My prostate was quite large & I was taking Avodart & Flowmax before the surgery. The Green Light surgery is done with a laser & they vaporize the tissue around the urethra so the urine will flow better. It's one of the more advanced surgeries at this time & the Urologist who did it is one of the founders of the technique. I dropped the Avodart because I read side effects protocols & there was some suggestion that it increases the risk of prostate cancer. I am peeing well now on Pumpkin Seed Oil but combining that with nettle root will help control the testosterone from being converted to DHT which is what enlarges the prostate. Also less risk of side effects.

    Thank you, Dr Ross. Excellent description and explanation with positive solutions on how to recover one's natural prostate health in addition to reducing the size of the prostate gland (BPH) and other associated symptoms and conditions that affect the quality of both one's health and life through using food as the primary source of healing. I have had an enlarged prostate (BPH) since September 2015. I have been on and off using a catheter and have just had a cystoscopy with the offer of green light laser surgery in 6 months, which, along with the side effects, for me is a 'No-No'. I am about to remove my name from this waiting list to continue a natural Food and Nutrition Diet as the healing Medicine. I love your videos. I am glad for your clarity and helpful explanations on the pro's and con's of using each food to combat the problems faced along with the food's natural effect on the symptom and condition. Your teaching will enable us to begin to take more responsibility to investigate and invest more in getting back to normal health without the unnecessary medication and unnecessary invasive surgery and will help to avoid the plethora of further life long harmful side effect of undergoing surgery that can result after taking such drastic action. I am so grateful to have stumbled onto your TH-cam page. Thank you once again. You have been more than helpful !!!

    I am in Canada. I have taken an over the counter supplement for a year now. Most days and once a day. It has in each soft gel capsule saw palmetto fruit extract with 85% to 95% fatty acids 125 mg , stinging nettle extract 75 mg , pumpkin oil from seed 460 mg , zinc citrate 15 mg , lycopene fruit flesh 6% extract 5 mg , selenium ( high selenium yeast) 55 mg. I have done very well with this. I tried a different formulation of theirs with much less pumpkin seed oil for a while and noticed that I needed the larger amount of pumpkin seed oil for better results. I also improved my diet so still can include some less healthy foods intermittently with no problem. I don't take any prescription drugs from doctor of any kind. I have recently had blood tested and good on all fronts. The product I take is sold at shoppers drug Mart in Canada.

    Pumpkin seeds are very high in phytic acid, which binds with minerals and makes them unabsorbable. Try to find spouted pumpkin seeds. the sprouting process reduces the phytic acid. Costco often has big bags of sprouted pumpkin seeds.

      Dr. Ross, I recently found a few of your videos that I found to be quite interesting. I joined your channel because the methodology in which you deliver information is quite helpful and easy to understand. I'm a 58 year old Navy veteran with several issues going on, so I first wanted to thank you for your time and level of effort you put into making these videos. Your followers' comments show how good you really are as a doctor. May God bless you always!

    Been using pumpkin seeds for years for all the reasons. However microwaved for a couple of minutes they are delicious and allows you to eat lots more. Probably not perfect ideally, but it really does allow you to eat a lot more, especially if you sprinkle some salt while hot. Yum!
