I hear great things about acustica but until they steam-line their download manager and license dsp usage im skeptical of downloading and installing it again, i own some too lol

Thanks for doing this, sounds great. Syntronik by IK is synth built on top of waveform samples from classic synths as well. What a time to be alive 😂

Idk if you guys mentioned it but with a voucher you can get via email you can get it for $100 till first week of March or something like that. (They extended their intro offer)
Also. Credit where credit is due. These were not nearly as CPU heavy as I assumed they would be. Arguably equal with what Diva is capable of.

TAL audio software, has the best Jupiter-8 and Juno 60 plugins ever made, they also have the exact presets from the originals that in a blind shoot out you can't tell which is plugin or hardware synth. They also have the Tal Sampler which is a one stop plugin for ever synth sound you could ever want, it is one of the best samplers ever made and comes with a Free pack of all the greatest synths and drum machines you could ever want for classic synth and drum machine sounds. Their plugins are very CPU efficient and they have really great support.

I own the J-8 and a BOATLOAD of presets for it, so I wanted this thing to suck, so I wouldn't have to buy it. Someone in the comments suggested I download the demo and give it a whirl. I did and confidently say that out of ALL the vst's I own (like probably 20-30, 40?) none of them sound as good as the TH8. I hear that there is some instability, but I've yet to experience any except for having to reboot it once. I have yet to use it extensively, but it is simply AMAZING. If Acustica Audio releases more like this, I feel it will make other soft synths obsolete. I do NOT own Diva, but I heard from another source that they even liked the TH8 just a little better... Download the demo if you dare. 😉 P.S. I own a brand new Mac Studio, so take that into consideration. If you own an older PC, it may not be a perfect fit.

@@skyko I was offering a budget option for anyone out there looking for an alternative at a lower price point. Acustica make really good plugins I use to use a bunch but until their actually fix their piracy scanning software that just eats up the CPU and has data tracking built in, I'm not going anywhere near it. I believe you when you say its great and an improvement on the other Jupiter emulations out there. In all honesty they should just switch to iLok I would consider using them again, but they won't because they make more money selling user's Data to information brokers than they do from plugin sales. Its sad because they could be a real innovator but sadly they won't. Yea I just upgraded to the 16 inch M4 Max from an M1 Ultra Mac Studio and Man these latest Apple chips are really GOOD. Cheers thanks for the info.

I had been following this release since its first announcement. I was absolutely set on NOT buying, due to the massive holiday plugin shopping fest I thought i had already finished. When the TH2 dropped, i was even more set on not getting it, bc now i get some of the vibes and save money.
..but i demo'd it anyway. I couldn't deny how good it sounded. Had to buy it. I thought the initial praise was just fanboys doing fanboy behavior, but i was wrong. This bad boy is the real deal. Money well spent

The acustica ‘more you buy the cheaper it gets’ thing means fanboys can take around 35-40% off the launch price. I think acustica base their prices on that ie the discount is the actual price, but they do it in a more convoluted way than the other vendors. See what I did there.

To be fair, I don't think it is outrageously priced. It just sounds better than any Jupiter 8 version I have heard, including Roland's own, and that has roughly the same price tag. As many have commented you can get the TH2 for free. And according to Acustica, the "TH2 is the scaled down version of TH5. TH5 its a synth derived from TH8 but not a scaled down version." No clue what that actually means though...

Yeah, so clunky, so glitchy and anti piracy stuffed code. Just not worth the bother. And then there's the price. For F's sake. Seriously, when are we going to move on from paying for stuff that sounds a bit like old stuff, or even a lot like old stuff? We've got more than a lot of old sounding stuff. Are these companies incapable of making new, great and innovative sounding new stuff? Or, has it gone as far as it can go and these companies are just clinging to myths and creating legends out of old stuff?
