    Something that people don't talk about is how there are very few stations with Fire Alarm systems. I know Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center has one, but that's really the only one I can think of. Yes, Fire Alarm systems are expensive, but I think they're needed more in the subway that a lot of places that do have them, like stores. However, considering subway crime I'd hope that they had some kind of verification for when you pull the alarm.

(It’s like that because they could run the second avenue subway so it stops on the other side of the wall, unfortunately current plans are to dig under the platforms and make the station two levels, probably because even without the wall the platforms aren’t wide enough for 2 train lines (compared to say Lexington-63rd, which used to also have fake walls)

    What’s up with replacing elevators in such a way that it’s not impossible to come from Queens or uptown and get to Penn Station on the ACE in an accessible way? I don’t know why they didn’t replace the A elevator first, have everyone transfer at 42nd to use the CE elevator and then reverse that while the CE elevator is shut down? Going all the way down to 14th street to come back up using the local train for the uptown CE elevator is a huge pain in the ass!

  • @ruzzelladrian907
    @ruzzelladrian907 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The Fulton Street Station in Lower Manhattan was overpriced. It’s an underutilized station that’s super fancy, because it’s in Lower Manhattan. While other stations that serve as a hub to connect to multiple train lines in The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens are dilapidated. One example, that I want to point out, is the terrible condition of the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue Station in Queens - that station is such a contrast to Fulton Street Station. MTA funneled money into building that overpriced and underutilized station, while the Jackson Heights Station in Queens have elevators that are either painfully slow or out of order. The transit agency deprioritized that station in Queens despite how glaring it is that the station is heavily used, because it has the 7, E, F, M, and R trains all in one roof. Add to the face it is a major connection to transfer to buses that go to areas with no trains and LaGuardia Link to get to the airport. Even during late night, it is still heavily used. And Fulton Street has barely any people, even during rush-hour. It’s pretty much a dead place for New York standards.
