- RIP Louie Anderson, (March 24, 1953 - January 21, 2022) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, author, and game show host. Louie Anderson created the cartoon series Life with Louie and wrote four books, including Hey Mom: Stories for My Mother, But You Can Read Them Too, which was published in 2018. He was the fourth host of the game show Family Feud from 1999 to 2002 in its third run and second revival.
Louis was enjoying a sussefull career resurgence for his performance on the FX comedy television series Baskets and Anderson received three consecutive Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nominations and won once in 2016.
Anderson performed a stand-up show called Louie: Larger Than Life in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 2003 through 2012. The show originated at the Union Plaza hotel downtown, before moving to Excalibur, South Point, and Palace Station hotels.
Dubbed by Comedy Central as; “One of The Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time.” Louie was an iconic comedian for nearly four decades. In this special, Louie presents four up and coming young comics, as Louie put it, "Because I is just want to pay it forward." Louie took a page from his mentor Rodney Dangerfield and payed it forward as Rodney did by giving Louie his first big break, presenting Louie on Rodney's "Young comedians special" in 1984 along with an unknown Andrew Dice Clay and Sam Kinison, wow what a contrast. Comedy Central dubbed Rodney "one of the greatest clean comedians of all time."
And yes for those who noticed, this was posted a year ago, but out of great respect for our dear friend we updated the thumbnail and title, rest in peace Louie, you made us laugh and brightened out day and you will be missed us and by millions of your loyal fans.

@@Strawman333 His hot me hard. Such a good guy.
@@Strawman333 I did not know that wow
You get busy with life and then see Louie has passed away.
Ive spent days re-living his specials and appearances. Thanks for everything, Louie.
Rest in Peace, Louie Anderson, you're one of the greatest stand-ups ever, i laughed at so many of routines on Sirius XM, thanks for making me smile on the way to work, sir, and i'll still listen to them.
Hi Lily my family saw you at the majety comedy club in Hermosa Beach about 35-40 years ago the bartender drop Six beers on my sister's head sitting in the front row by accident and Lewis was talking about her hair and ask her questions about wish you were too busy for the whole show was revolved around the six beers and launched on her head and they had a whole place was roaring through so much laughter and my parents become somewhat good friends with Lily over the years
He is one of the greatest stand-ups of all time and I don’t think he has ever been given his dues from the population at large. I hope sometime we can get another special or something from him so a new generation can enjoy his masterful storytelling
I remember the cartoon he had on fox.
What year were you born? Because he cam in during the 80’s comedy boom. Had lots of specials and had his own Saturday morning cartoon series.
His peers definitely recognize him. He's been sang praises by countless of A-list comics. He is one of the all-time greats, whether the public at large realize it or not.
RIP we'll never get another one like him
Baskets is a masterpiece
Who here remembers the "Louie Anderson Show"?
I do and I looked forward to seeing every episode!😂😁
I grew up on that, really great show. I miss him so much, no vulgarity in hes comedy. Rest in peace Louie.
😭😂
Life with louie?
Google "watch online cartoon"
I grew up with the cartoon life with Louie, where much of his standup was put into cartoon form.
I remember this guy the first time on Carson. His first visit. He was a knockout. This is close to that. He is cute, self deprecating and funny with real life experiences. He speaks conversational to you. Thanks utube.
I don't think a knockout is quite good enough I think you have to kill to be considered good a knock out .....m e h
One of handful of comics who Johnny instantly fell in love, with Louie instantly and wanted him back again and again. It was a great springboard for many new up and coming comedians trying out their material.
He was truly a funny man, rest in peace,Louie.
@geraldduncan5646 very well said, thank you!
"Click click, when did I start clicking" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm crying over here
I miss you Louie😢….Rest In Paradise 🙏💙🙏
I love hearing the audience laughing hysterically at Louis Anderson's jokes. It brings me joy.
"Life with Louie" was my favorite show when I was little. Life will never be the same without Louie. Rest in peace Louie Anderson, you will be missed.
here in Georgia (country), its popular too. i mean really popular,
I saw him in Las Vegas in 2002 and laughed the entire show.
Clean humor thats timeless
Best opening line for your first national t.v appearance. " I can't stay very long, I'm in between meals so please bare with me. Lol. One of my favorite comedians of all time. RIP Louie, your the greatest!
I remember his debut in Johnny Carson. Another great line from then was his saying the audience members were probably thinking “I wonder if he knows he’s that fat”.
I know it's kinda nuts, but I've been watching a lot of Louie's old clips and while I'm watching I forget he has gone on ahead.
Thanks Louie, for being side splittingly funny and one of the most congenial entertainers I have ever enjoyed.
Was so happy to see him in Vegas a few years ago. He dropped by Carrot Tops show and opened for him. My hubby and I drove home so happy feeling like winner's because we got to see Louie. Never forgot that special moment. RIP Louie, you are loved.
I just turned 50 and Louie is was not kidding. I saw Louie at a Casino in Vicksburg, Mississippi 25 years ago and it's still one of my most favorite memories.
Binge watching Louie since 1/22/22. So I go to another comic and in 20 minutes I'm back watching Louie. He beats them all. Rip Louie-The Best!
When I was a kid there was a cartoon called "life with Louie" I still laugh thinking about some of those shows
I remember my sister and her husband going to see Louie when he was doing a show in my hometown! They had backstage passes and after the show, they went downstairs to the lounge and sitting on the sofa was Louie himself! He welcomed them in,was very friendly and they chatted and got his autograph! A simply wonderful, kind man they said he was! R.I.P. Louie Anderson!👀👀😢😢

Well, a course he was, he was from Minnesota, don’t ya know??
What a legend so funny and clean which is so rare nowadays.
I need more time! Indeed you did sir . Rip to one of the greats and a wonderful human being.
I'm gonna miss, Louie. Thank goodness for TH-cam. THIS may be my favorite routine of his😂.
That is pure classic comedy. This guy goes from good natured family fun into dark wit so smoothly.
Louie Anderson and John Pinette some of my favorite comedians of all time, I think both were severely underrated may they R.I.P.
One of the best. Seriously underrated.
I met him one time at my work place. He asked me if I had a match to light his cigarette. I didn’t recognize him until I said no and he yelled out “What the hell kind of place is this?!” I looked up and it was him. He was alright. RIP big guy.
Louie smoked? Good Lord!
I read he didn’t smoke…….
@@jackiemehoff8239 Where did you read this?
Farley, Hinson, this man, Pryor, so many more but these were off the charts with humor. The dramatics they displayed was top notch. Sad to see em gone
I'm sure glad I got to see Louie at Bally's in Las Vegas in 1996. He talked about gamblers and his late night craving story about seeking out pickled Beets. It was hilarious!
~Approaching 50 here & from the UK so I only came across Louie in recent years through "Baskets". It blew me away when I found out it was a man (Louie) playing the mother in the show, so talented and so missed. I am sad but glad to have come across this master of comedy and story telling.
I Miss this guy. He could take the most mundane events in life and with his unique delivery make them so relatable and funny.
It took me until recently to realize how great this guy was. I just didn’t get how brilliant he was when I was a kid.
Same here. Didn’t realize.
I never say goat but Louie is one of the greatest. He could make a joke out of a goat. God bless Louie
Impeccable timing and delivery. Pure genius. The last of the greats of my generation comedy.
I saw him perform in person and I was on the floor laughing! He is soooo funny!
I live in a suburb south of Chicago. Saw him at KJ Riddles in Tinley Park. A few of us saw him probably more than 15 years ago but I always thought he was funny and he put on a great show. We were laughing the whole time. Sorry he passed away.
Oh Louie…❤️❤️❤️…you left us too soon. We love you so much. I hope your Soul is well back out in The Universe and Thank You for being so wonderful while you were here on earth. OX
He was very gifted! He had nice clean comedy and he was a very polite individual loved by sooooooo many people NOT ONE BAD THING can be said about him. He made the world smile.
I feel like...he's my favorite uncle. And he tells me all these funny stories. Very cool......
Flawless delivery, and relatable comedy. Absolutely the best!
I truly adored him and was brokenhearted to hear of his passing! 😔🕯
I always love louie's deliberate use of avoiding eye contact for certain jokes. It's like a signature thing he does to imitate people and I love him
I actually watched Louie's 1st appearance on the Tonight Show (starring Johnny Carson). I still remember the impact.
It was 1980 I believe. Shandling made his debut on the Csrson show that year as well.
I rarely burst out with laughter watching his set, but he is funny and certainly an entertaining showman.
We've lost so many great celebrities in the past several months. And Louie Anderson was among them. RIP Louie. Your specials will bring laughter for generations to come
I always liked Louie .. Watch him for years . his family. Life was funny

He absolutely is as good a comedian as there is, his command of an audience is superb. One of the best parts of his act is his voices.
Louie was the greatest!

Noah is 38 by now, getting close to the big 5-0
R.I.P Louie Anderson
I didnt know we lost him RIP Louie
Louie is one of my favorites!!
RIP Louie. A truly funny man.
Funny guy..Liked him since Day 1....R.I.P.. Sir
The best stand up comedian ever!
It’s funny, I never found him as funny as this when he was younger. As he aged it seemed like he changed his manurisms a bit and he just makes me laugh more now. His most recent material is golden.
His Thanksgiving jokes were hysterical! His mom would exclaim at the end of dinner, “Oh, the cranberries!” He’d move the mike stand in front of him to his side, “Does this help?” Always laughing at himself to make others happy! Love you since you were on Johnny Carson, Louie
🥰😘
Glad to have seen him perform live on the Craig Ferguson late night show... He was a true original and a class act.
Three of my top comedians are Louis Anderson, Stephen Wright, and Paula Poundstone oh I don’t want to forget Jim Gaffigan. These comedians never ever say the F word… They don’t need to.😂😂😂❤❤❤
Mans a heckin legend. Look at his pacing, he's a fucking genius.
You did need more time, Louie. Wish you could have gotten it. You were one or two of the funniest people that ever lived. 😉
Louie never failed to make me laugh... mostly at myself. RIP Louie. You are missed.
Thank you for posting this performance. Louie was a very nice guy. My sister was his attorney for awhile and I got to meet and chat with him at her home as well as at one or two of my mom's birthday parties. My mom loved Louie because he was such a sweet person, and very patient with and very respectful of older adults. RIP, Louie. You are still missed.
Man I'll miss Louie!
I'm always impressed when "clean" comics can still be hilarious. Takes serious skill!
Who knew we only had him for one more year
A national treasure..
AMD international icon
RIP TO A COMEDY LEGEND HOPE YOUR IN. Better place we all miss you
Rest in Peace, Louie. You were and still are brilliant.
I used to love his animated version of himself...just a simple man with his own style of humor. Self depreciating laughs
So real and relatable! A comedy legend is gone 🥲
