  • I make a trip to Buffalo Wyoming to pick up an International Harvester 4500B forklift I bought on an online auction.
It was a long drive and took some extra efforts and hydraulic oil to get it loaded but I got it done and drove all the way back to Denver without working trailer brakes. After changing the trailer brake hydraulic module I was back on the road with working brakes!
The drive home was nice and even ended with a lightning show!
Stay tuned for more on this IH 4500B as I get the leaks fixed and everything in good working order for use in my business.
If you'd like to read the progress on this machine on the RedPower Forum thread I have some great details and photos!

The International 4500B was a rough terrain forklift sold at International Harvester AG, and Industrial dealers. It is built on the platform of a IH 454 agricultural utility tractor and converted to a forklift by a company called Harlo Products. Harlo Products built many brands of AG tractors into forklifts including IH, John Deere, Ford, Massey Ferguson, CASE, and probably others. The mast is very similar between them but the sheet metal is very different. Harlo continues to make forklifts today labeled as their own on John Deere chassis.

The "skid units" comprising of engine, transmission, axles, etc were built in Doncaster, UK then imported and finished into a forklift I believe at the Harlo facility in Michigan.
