  • In this episode I address my families classic, a rare 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S with 200,000 miles. The point of this series is show you what happens when you put more then 3 miles on a luxury car cause lets be honest people don't drive these cars so no one knows what to expect.
    Enjoy!
    Thanks for all your support so far. Your comments, views, and likes light a fire under my ass to always improve and bring you these videos.

    Gees Dyllon, you are such a burk, bring a huge smile to my face every time i watch you videos! I remember a 911 targa way back when you were still trying to talk, that too was a classic. But that then was when we were cats in another life. Go well, keep on the great videos.

    Cool, Our Silver Rose also has 200,000 miles but a full service history. It was fully repainted in the correct colour last year so looks like a time warp. We got it at just the right time as here in UK they have gone up considerably in value. People seem to have realised the gem in hiding. Great video.

    Very entertaining.....very educational. I’m a 64 year old retired Navy Officer and retired federal law enforcement officer. When I turned 50 and made O-6 -- I bought a very low mileage 1990 944 cabriolet. For anyone considering these...Dyllon is “right on”.......the paperwork records are worth gold. Maintenance is paramount. If you are not afraid of getting a little dirty by turning a wrench.....help is everywhere online on TH-cam and forums. Important....before buying, get a PPI.....BUT.....don’t expect modern day Porsche dealers / mechanics to know these cars well enough to be able to perform that PPI accurately. I’ve had mine up and down the east coast....it always receives positive comments.....and the handling makes getting off the Interstate a joy......bringing “smiles with the miles”!!! Again, Dyllon, Bravo-Zulu on this video, job well done on representing this model Porsche so accurately!

    You are so lucky about the rims! They are unique to the 'turbo S', the later 'Design 90' look only similar. Your design is the same as on the ultra rare 928 CS (Clubsport). I also love your interior!

    930 turbo was a widowmaker. Even test driving one gave me chills. I would dare someone to push one to the limit. 944 turbo S is much faster in the track

    The guy from Germany that sold you the new interior cloth wouldn't by any chance be seated In Gummersbach, Germany? I know a guy from there who definitely doesn't speak english and also is one of the only sellers for original Porsche interior cloth.

    Nice ride! I'm glad to see you driving it. :)
    Check eBay (or wherever) for this: "944 coverlay dash cover" It's not a carpet but thin, super strong polymer. I used it on a different make and model and it was an awesome upgrade for the money. Can't even tell it's there. Not sure if you could paint it to match but I'm sure you'd figure something out.
    Anyway, keep putting miles on that car!

      @@IfCarsCouldTalk Nice. You've got a very unique 944. If it were mine, I'd touch up those couple areas showing wear and drive it another 200k. Stay classy.

    It's a nice older car. Not my cup of tea as I like modern performance cars and the associated amenities. I'm glad though that folks like yourself are preserving these old cars.

    The Turbo S isn't that special, at the end of production 90-92 Porsche made all 944 Turbos 250BHP with the larger turbo, LSD and M030 parts plus a bridge spoiler which is much nicer than the rubber spoiler. Also the interior and paint colour of the Silver Rose is a bit marmite - you either like it or hate it. Not sure when they ceased sales in the USA but they continued production in Europe right up to 91/92. My 90 Turbo is currently rocking 205k miles - they are great cars I hope you enjoy yours for many more years to come!

    • @med8tor1
      @med8tor1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      '90's turbo? Is that European? Cause '89 is the last 944 turbo in the US which is what I have. And all '89's are S.

    • @lanceboyle4255
      @lanceboyle4255 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      med8tor1 In Canada, the Turbo was available until 1991. The 90 & 91’s were mechanically identical to the Turbo S but with a different rear spoiler. The S2 kept the old style spoiler.

      Nice video. I’m the original owner of a 1986 944 Turbo. (Alpine White with burgundy interior) Love this car but only drive it a couple times a year now. As of today, she has 367,432 miles on it. Had a head job at about 225,000 due to timing belt break. Ouch! Bent four valves. $$$ moral to that story, change your timing belts every 60k miles.
