Mobius was EASILY my favorite character. He felt so real and had a good sense of humor while still trying to get his job done. He has the audience point of view of Loki in this timeline trying to break through to who Loki really is. I can’t wait for him to get back next season

I feel like he works because he was put with Loki. Mobius only told the truth, or at least what he thought was the truth, at the beginning of the season. Loki was a lying, scheming, rascal who betrayed him at every turn. Then, at the end, Loki has become the one telling the truth and the one looking out for others while Mobius is using deceit and trickery to beat the TVA. The characters, being total opposites, were able to build off of each other through the season and you almost don’t notice because it happens so naturally.

It’s not selfcest when the other version of you is completely genetically different. The black Loki or the alligator Loki probably weren’t born to Laufey. It’s safe to assume, Sylvie is genetically different and may just be a random frost giant Odin found and could be genetically different. Being a Loki has more to do with being the god of mischief and the role he plays.

Loki's a natural shapeshifter who is both gender fluid and racial fluid. I'm pretty sure every Loki started off as a frost giant son of Laufey who was then adopted by Odin, and from there they begin to diverge from each other.

The first time we see Loki shapeshift is when he's a baby. He couldn't have consciously known what he was doing at the time which implies that his shapeshifting can happen involuntarily due to subconscious triggers. Whenever he's exposed to extreme cold he reverts back to his original frost giant form, when he was picked up by Odin and imprinted on him he subconsciously took on an Asgardian form, and I'm willing to bet that at various points in his life when he was feeling feminine he took on a female form even before he learned to shapeshift at will.

As for why I thought she didnt look like a frost giant, I just figured that she simply wasnt a frost giant. I guess I just figured odin picked her up on a different planet to adopt her. And with the hair thing it actually went from brown to blond which actually isnt that weird. Its definately less common than when peoples hair darken as they age, but it is possible for a persons hair to naturally lighten as they age. But you do have a good point that she probably can shapeshift naturally, she just isnt as good at it and its harder for her probably?

@@mirrorzone5224 No that's the thing people are not grasping, every Loki is different, that's why they are called variants and not clones. There is a diffrence between alternate timelines and alternate universes.
For example, The Tva Loki is genetically and physically identical to ragnarok loki but is a variant because he escaped from his destined path. Upto 2012 both of them have had the exact same experiences and situations, molding them into the characters they are today. But from that point in time they have had different experiences, making the Tva Loki a variant but still sharing the same genetic structure with ragnarok loki
When we talk about alternate universes, we should keep in mind that all the Loki variants have a similar part to play in the universe but are never truly identical. The only thing they have in common is a temporal aura. Even the situations throughout there lives is different because that's how alternative universes work, there will always be a difference. Let's say in boastful Loki's universe, Laufey was a woman or in Sylvie's universe, Odin and Frigga never had a child and she was an only child. The situations are never really the same.
And as you mentioned, even if Loki is a shapeshifter, he/she/they will never really take someone's genetic structure, he only changes his appearance.

Like maybe he didn't make the apocalypses, but he did steer Sylvie towards them so that she could figure out to hide in them. That still means that he's letting the apocalypses happen rather than preventing them, but it's not clear how much power he actually has beyond being all seeing and having his agency. It could be that making huge changes is prone to creating unmanageable new timelines.
Actually, now I think about it, that is exactly the point of the "sacred timeline". The sacred timeline is shown as a single main timeline with small branches splitting from it, but in reality a split should be equal with no timeline being favoured over the other. He Who Remains is selecting the branches that will lead to the outcome he wants and deleting the rest, it's only presented as a single "sacred timeline" to keep up the pretense that the TVA are doing the right thing by culling the other branches.

The show is also just beautifully filmed. Yes a lot of the background were cgi, but the colors popped, the set designs were unique and it had such a *style* to it that I feel in love with.
Also the acting, like the scene in ep 2 where Loki took in the gravity of knowing his future, hit so much harder because they stripped it of dialogue and held almost a minute on simply Hiddleston's acting and facial expressions. It felt like something that belonged in an indie passion project rather than a big budget marvel flick, which is a high compliment.
It's probably the most experimental thing Marvel has put out in a long while. Its not the most risky, but its the most balls the wall - lets do something different. A few odd choices, but else a fantastic show

@@cinemasketch9644 Wandavision started self contained, eventually it shifted over to her and her powers and what they really are, and ended with her clearly playing around in the multiverse to try and find her kids, we already know that's going to lead directly into Dr Strange.
F&WS was the intro story for a new Captain America, gave us a taste of what the MCU's underworld is like, and introduced some shady dealings going on. Not exactly earth shattering, but better to establish that in a series where it can take a little time then rush it into a movie.
Loki was when Marvel just tipped their whole hand and decided to explain the multiverse, and give us a nice taste of what it could bring to the table in a fun and engaging way...instead of just having Dr Strange do a monologue about it in his movie.
Also, they feel self contained because they're character studies, Wanda's grief, Bucky's remorse, Sam feeling unworthy, and Loki's self loathing, it was all explored very well, and also functions as a primer for the next round of movies.
It was all very pragmatic, well planned, and above all, still entertaining. They weren't trying to open a new unvierse, just open the next part of the one they've already established very well.

WandaVision was a self contained (quite literally) storyline for Wanda and Monica, that’s it, it’s a personal story and it’s fun but it’s more sad and emotional
FATWS is the same thing but more grounded and fleshed out the characters we barely knew for themselves to be better versions
This starts out the same self contained personal storylines, but takes it a step further and makes it external as much as it’s internal, this show will actually directly affect the universe and themselves
So I seriously can’t and won’t say one is better than the others cuz each of them have something to say as well as have their own stories that affects the CHARACTERS

To me they played it as a insight on “self love”, seeing a reflection of themselves (or at least for Loki) and having a sincere appreciation for what they see. He still could've learned how to love someone else (and himself) and the final episode with them could've even been the exact same, just no kiss. So many romantic subplots that a true platonic relationship, especially between a man and a woman, is a breath of fresh air.
That being said, I didn't hate it, just wish they'd kept it platonic. And I also like how it shows his narcissism, literally the only person he's fallen in love with is himself.

@Gentleman Murk I’m not sure what you’re inferring, given that it has nothing to do with Marvel, but I don’t mind at all. I haven’t watched Titans as a matter of fact, but I see no problem in casting an actor of African descent to play Starfire. I mean Starfire isn’t even from Earth.
As both a fan of the comics and the movies, I don’t see an issue in changing the race, gender, sexuality or what have you of a character as long as that version fits the basic foundation of the character. In the addition, characters who are defined in part by their culture already should not be changed if it’s part of their character. For instance, Black Panther. T’Challa is an African king and his entire character is based around African and black culture. You wouldn’t cast a white man to play Black Panther. Task Master being portrayed by a woman- that’s absolutely okay. MJ being African American, that’s absolutely okay. The ancient being white and British. That’s not okay.
Overall though, I just think that comic book movies should have the freedom to adapt what they please and change things so long as they work and make stories better.
Edit: in my opinion, forced diversity isn’t a default effect when they change the gender, sexuality or culture of a character. Forced diversity is only a problem when it is explicit that the producers don’t care about a character, rather just a stereotype. For instance, I don’t enjoy the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters because I felt that the movie wasn’t trying to separate itself from the previous movie and in the end, instead of creating something unique and independent, they just remade ghost Busters, but with a weak message regarding feminism that is more regressive than progressive. On the other hand, you have a movie like the Dark Tower. The dark tower movie isn’t good and it’s got so many problems and so much wasted potential. However, the casting of Idris Elba as Roland (who is a traditionally white character) works in my opinion because he’s a great actor and he brings a lot of depth and emotion in a movie that is devoid of anything. He wasn’t cast because he wasn’t white, he was cast because he fit the role of Roland perfectly. Force diversity only happens when a production only cares about woke points and not creating a character.

I think the way they show infinity stones as paper weight is to show that is more powerful than those, the power to control universe. Hence why Loki says "is this power?"

This show's taken me through an interesting journey of realizing that a lot of people just love to hate Marvel only because it's popular
The show does many new things, the character goes through an emotional journey, the climax wasn't a big cgi fight, and the plot is incredibly complex. But nope, some people will never be happy and call it trash just because

It’s interesting and new(ish), but the whole package of 6 episodes just isn’t structured well enough or tight enough; episodes 2 and 3 really hamstrung the experience for me… episodes 4 - 6 aren’t bad, but smaller choices in 6 were really really offputting; Majors was great

Anti-MCU brigade is more toxic and annoying than MCU fans or fanboys. Not liking something or having criticism is fine but because its "the thing" theres a large percentage who just think they're above it versus the "stupid marvel fanboy shills" They respond from that angle with the same tired recycled arguments, or often just vitriol, without considering a things indivual merits. Its an attempt at a statement

This links them together quickly and fast tracks their feelings of understanding each other on a level we will never understand. Because as you said its not even possible. Youre so very welcome CVH
