Thank you very much for featuring and testing our posters and prints! That's a real honor and I much appreciate how much you went into detail. I much appreciate so much appreciation! :-) With many greetings from Potsdam!
My favorite of 2023 was the discovery of this channel ❤️ it! Wasn’t big on you tube and had no idea but now I’m a frequent watcher and I’ve learned a bunch.
I'm sure it's just me being an old man, but Adam's favorite things seemed like him geeking out over things he loved, and this feels like promotions. It's the age gap, no doubt.
I really wish the favorite things videos came out earlier, like in November because they always inspire me to put things on my Christmas list…after it has been distributed to the family
@@tatianaes3354in the 70's small batteries would be alkaline or rechargeable nickel-cadmium. NiCad have been commercially available since the mid 1940's, and were invented in the late 1800's.
a really good companion for kids to the How Things Work book is The Way Things Work by David Macaulay. I have fond memories of spending hours on rainy days with the hardcover, following the mammoths and people around as they do their work.
I love my Omnifixo soldering station and it makes my life happy when I am soldering. :D Nice list overall, I think I need to score the Tamiya drill, could be fun to have in my kit :D
Thanks Norm, for providing my disposable income for another raison d'etre ;). Great find on the Tamiya tools! Been hemming and hawing pin vise vs drill for my 3D printed projects, and this seems to be a good go-between! Always love the things you come up with! Best wishes to you and yours for the new year!
Norm, easily my fav here as I feel like our techie/nerdie interests are in perfect alignment. Quest 3 has been my current obsession. But that Mando Ship!!!! Passing that along to my wife as a last mine Xmas gift idea 🤣
The one thing I am quite annoyed about with Mando's N1 during S3.... was the Astromech port! They clearly decided to utilize R5 _last minute,_ because they didn't factor in the giant engine that now sits directly below it and thereby blocking the entry/exit port. Because now when R5 exits, he has to turn into a fluid, to magically be able to drop down BEHIND the add-on engine, which means making two 90 degree turns in roughly a 24in vertical space! 😅🤦♂️ As such, I'm glad that model has Grogu! 😊
I've been thinking about getting a set of helping hands for years, but I've never known what to look for. These look awesome--imediate buy! Thanks for this list!
The posters are extremely cool. Like, I am so close to buy one but it is a bit too big and with a frame I probably can't find a place for it. But it is very cool.
When you said “ this is a poster” I left the TH-cam and thought about the original akira poster. I scoured eBay and eventually bought one. I then returned to TH-cam 10 minutes later and the poster you were showing was akira. How weird is that 😂
Dammit. When I heard "Dune Coffee tablebook, my mind immediately went"THEY FINALLY DID THE JODOROWSKY BOOK????". Dang it... Now I was reminded that we still haven't gotten that one. :(
@@sie4431 I was thinking it would be cool to have a charge port so you don’t have to open the tool to remove and charge the batteries you could just plug it in. Would be easy enough to add one👍🏻
Wanted to mention that since Wowstick released their pin vise/mini drill that many other companies are making them in the same slim form factor, but be wary of them as the gearing in them is all plastic and very easy to break, something like the Tamiya Handy drill is a better option despite it's old design.
Got a Prusa MK4 kit (no closed ecosystem for me!) which I put together and it has been working great (with a slight diversion for a really hard to diagnose but trivial to fix loose nozzle :-). I'm anxiously awaiting Prusa figuring out how to get the MMU3 working well on the MK4 so I can do multi-color prints.
The PS Portal is a nice idea, but I have yet to get a PS5 console. 😥 The Tamiya Handy Drill is and Router is great for those into plamo. For Star Wars fans, I suggest the Bandai model kits.

loved it all exept for the "psp"... really disapointed its not a new stand alone PSP that as the feature to connect and play from youre ps5.. still plays my two old psp 2 :P
the Bambulab A1 getting on the "best of 2023" video *1 day* after official release is an absolute joke. It has no data at all. None. Zero. And it has no cloud streaming at alllllll. You also NEED your ps5 ON. which means, yes, you still need to have it on your tv lol. You can change the channel, but itll always be running on that tv. What a terrible way to plau console games. A phone or tablet is better in every way. You have acess to gamepass, which is flat out better and its streaming from the cloud which is again, better, or you can do the same thing as the psportal.
The only handheld gaming system I would even think about buying is the Steam Deck or one maybe of the clones of it. Remote gaming doesn't work well unless you have good fiber internet on both ends.
@@rocketman221projects xcloud is getting rather good. But yeah, buying a system specifically dedicated to streaming, is a bad investment. Hell, if you really want to do that, buy a 200 dollar tablet and hook up whatever controller with Bluetooth. Not only will you be able to do the exact same things, but you'll also have a tablet. With a web browser, and apps, and Netflix and all that stuff. I was messing with my brothers ps portal. And it was lagging, indoors, in the same room the system was in. It ran well, but would have random lag spikes mid swing in spiderman. Even the thing had android on it, sure, go for it. But.
That Hasbro mandalorian ship is not a toy! It's a adult collectable! It's not meant to be played with like a toy it's meant to be displayed because it's made by Hasbro doesn't make it a toy!

Have you seen any sim pit ever? Those are just “glorified controllers” but many people, including myself, enjoy using them. The portal seems very reasonable if people find a place for it in their life and enjoy playing games with it.

Extra late this year.

@@jangee34345 interesting. Why not?
The Tamiya drill is great for styrene projects. Its slow speed doesn't melt the plastic and gives you very good control.

The Tamiya drill has been around since the 70's.... I have worn our two of them, put a ball bearing in the thing and it lasts really well.
But batteries in the 70s were of lead, so it did not work for long.

I love these end of the year episodes. My wishlist always gets bigger after watching😎
Nice to see my friend/colleague CBJ being showcased on my favourite TH-cam Channel with the amazing Dune book. She is incredibly talented!
That drill from Tamiya is one of those things that has been on my radar for six years and I STILL haven’t bought myself one.

Ah it's this time of the year again, insta like!
Right on time! Thanks, Norm!
Thanks for the list! I appreciate your thoughts on your favorite things!
