      Also, I’m pretty sure they are weird shapes because they are repurposing case molds from other products. This became obvious when all the tire inflators on Aliexpress were suddenly shaped like drills. I opened a busted one and the components on the inside looked like they were social distancing

      I actually did what Adam wanted to do. I had an old TCM electric pump from the ... mid 00's (might be a bit older). Made an aluminium box on my bender and i've been using it as a brick for years now. Bout the only thing that changed is better batteries. This is the way. Tools these days look like toys.

    • @MikrySoft
      @MikrySoft 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@TheStampi Plus it allows them to re-use batteries you might already have. There are also plenty of Aliexpress inflators that look like the one Adam shown, from well known (for Aliexpress) brands like Xiaomi or Baseus, both rechargeable and powered from the cigarette lighter port.

    My manager at a screen printing shop once sent one of those pressured aerosol cans full of acetone down an industrial dryer running at 360 degrees by accident. I’d seen enough mythbusters to know to run for cover but instead of exploding, that little can popped out burning hot but intact. Solid product.

I have done a few boards and everyone absolutely loves them :) The customization it offers you along with the added safety you get from the better controller is simply out of this world. Not to mention adding a remote for even more control and real time data from the controller makes the OneWheel so much more usable and amazing. With your machining abilities, you could do some really cool modifications from battery boxes to custom rails!

    Thanks so much for your best of episode each year - always find something to put on my gift list. I started listening to You Must Remember This based on your recommendation last year, and the 90s series and the 80s one that preceded it were just incredible. I highly recommend Proof from America's Test Kitchen. A great example is "How to Make a Battle-Ready Pizza" - the complexity and science behind good MREs is fascinating, and the passion that those involved have for it comes through. Also love Technology Connections on TH-cam, he does great deep dives into so many technology areas, old and new. I'm forever fascinated about how things were done mechanically before integrated circuits and such. His episode on "Old Pinball Machines are Amazingly Complex" is great!

    Oh man what a serpentine path life can take us. Thanks to this video I immediately checked Left Hand of Darkness out of the library and have been listening to it for a couple of days. This author Ursula k LeGuin, I knew the name but couldn’t place it and knew I’d never read any of her works. Finally a third of the way through the book the tickle in my mind kept getting bigger and I discover she wrote The ones who walk away from omelas. I had forgotten the name of this short story I read 25 years ago in an English class. The story struck me and stuck with me, and I would make references to it without thinking. But I never tried to find its origin. Adam you continue to touch peoples lives even in minor intangible ways, like this quantum tunnel to my past!! Lol! Cheers.

    My favourite thing this year, I finally spent some money upgrading a bunch of the devices around my computer - mouse, my keyboard, my music headphones, a few other things. Several of them were old and worn out and not working well, so I used some of my savings to upgrade to better ones.
    Let me tell you, the difference between a "passable" tool that works but isn't particularly nice, and a "good" premium tool... for stuff you use all the time? it makes a huge difference. A cheap keyboard will let you type, and costs $10, but a keychron keyboard is $80 (cheap by "custom keyboard enthusiast" standards apparently) - and the difference is it makes the feel of typing *enjoyable*. Well worth the cost, and it'll last 10x as long as you can dismantle it and replace individual parts.
    The headphones were expensive, Meze 99 classics... but... they're just an incredibly nice object. Functional, comfortable, and incredible at their job.

    • @TheStrykerProject
      @TheStrykerProject 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Billo1281 yeah, it’s ok. It’s pressure reading is about 3 or so PSI low, compared to two other pressure gauges I compared it to, though. Problem is, I’m not sure who to trust as most accurate! One knock, as other commenters noted in reviews is, the hose is really short and the inflator hanging off the tire looks like the hose is kind of kinked. Part of my desire for an electric one is so I don’t have to bend over the whole time, to spare back pain. I just find something to prop it up. Finally, it’s definitely slower than a compressor and only a bit quieter.
      Overall, I’m happy with the convenience and very compact size. Having it in the car is good peace of mind.
      P.s. I also love the auto shutoff feature…I just hope I’m not over inflating.

    Those travel bags are nice. I have a ski bag that has a laptop sleeve style compartment, and I stitched a panel of velcro to it, I then have a similar set of bags that I stick to the velco inside the bag. That way they just aren't all shuffling around in the bag loose. I can then switch out the bags for whatever use I have for the bag that day. Going skiing, take my bags that have my ski tools, sunscreen etc. Traveling, switch out for my bag with my battery bank, passport etc.

    there is a lot of tire inflation and most of them can't run more then 10-20 min before you need to stop, let it cool down for over 1 hour or so and then continue. When I was looking for a tire pump for a car wheel, I was never able to inflate my tire 10-20 min limit. It may be able to support the PSI, but not the time it required to feel a tire from flat. So, if you have a repair kit for flat, depending on all tire pump, they all have different air flow/ min ratio, so the smaller the unit, the lower and more time it will take. Just make sure that you get a pump that can pump a tire from flat in one shot. No one want to find out on the side of the road, that the pump you bought cannot inflate a tire flat in one time and you half to wait over 1 hour before you can continue.

    A bit bulky, but very good, set and forget, stops at the desired pressure (and also does mattreses etc, but I haven't tried that feature).

Had a lot of fun choosing a hardcover from a different printing for all six books and was delighted to see the obvious inspirations for another of my favorite series, The Magicians by Lev Grossman. I was watching this movie the other day and loved it, and I thought, who fought for this movie ? Some amazing person fought to bring these moments to life (I am getting chills just thinking about it). And I was like "A man. A man fought for this movie." And then direction credit came up and then yup, there it was !

    "The Boy and the Heron" aka "How Do You Live" is Miyazaki's magnum opus. It may not be everyone's favorite but its hard to argue that it is not his best work. Must watch for any Studio Ghibli fan.

    Someone may have suggested this already (I’m not going to read all the comments to check), but you could suspend that little blowdryer on a retracting cord above your workspace, the way that nutrunners are set up on production lines. Think of how much time you’ll save not having to pick it up and put it down every single time.

    That tape dispenser is truly a wonderful piece of equipment. I'm considering getting 1 or 2 more, for different types of tape. I use it for basting tape when dewing, and having presets its a dream! Don't sleep on a $150 tape dispenser!

    your comments on 3D printers, would love if you did a video just on those. What new ones do you have, WHY re they so much better? advice, etc. I have one from 3-4 years ago and it is good, but your enthusiasm now has me wondering about an upgrade.

    Thanks for the coverage of bambu lab printers. We purchased one at work and it's been running like a dream. Upgrading from a makerbot replicator X2 / ender something. Print quality is amazing and software is apparently very intuitive someone else does the printing I'm not involved in that "yet". Merry Christmas everyone

    A Shrader valve is an automotive tire valve.
    A Presta valve is a bicycle tire valve.

    • @davidskala7652
      @davidskala7652 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your mostly correct in saying that, I mean the schrader valve is more common on average bikes where the presta valves is found more so on a bit more higher end or performance bike tires. the smaller post size not needing a big hole drilled and lighter than the schrader so being specifically made for bicycles to make the rim stronger and lighter, but schrader are the only valve used on car tires.
      Honestly I hated having the presta valves on my single track bike it was so easy to bend the pin when doing the tire pressure
