+Jay Hou It's easy to get distracted by his presentation. I am not surprised by the - few - dislikes. It's to be expected and doesn't detract from the performance. Let's celebrate this guy beating the odds _and_ getting appreciated

      I love Japan.
Japan saved 765 Polish orphans in 1920 and 1922. Around 1920, there were about 200,000 Polish in Siberia. Most of them died. Poland has asked various countries to save Polish orphans in Siberia. But all countries refused to rescue. Poland finally commissioned Japan to rescue Polish orphans. The Japanese emperor and empress at the time immediately ordered the Japanese to save the Polish orphans.Japan soon began rescue Polish orphans. The orphan was in Siberia. Japanese continued to rescue Polish orphans in Siberia. The smallest orphan that Japan saved was a two-year-old child. The orphan was crying near her dead mother. The Japanese immediately rescued the orphan. Polish orphans were sent to Japan for treatment. Japan fed the Polish orphans a hot meal every day. All Polish orphans have recovered. Japan continued to love Polish orphans very much. All Japanese donated money to save Polish orphans. Polish orphans were always smiling. Japan has successfully returned 765 Polish orphans to Poland.
Thanks to Japan. God bless Japan.

+Étienne Parent Yes, the love of the conductor was touching. I don't know if you saw the 1989 cliburn competition, but i thought of how rude and cold and biting James Conlon the conductor was with Nobuyuk and his mom (or whomever that was with him) he knew this young mans condition but Conlon continued to belittle him, finally the lady with him said lets try this, and Conlon said we don't have time he should have known this , it was just a Q to give after a passage, i loathed Conlon after that, this child is remarkable and his parents have done wonders with him and you disrespect them in front of an orchestra and his behavior was so unwarranted, shame on Conlon, i hope his conscience bothered him (if he has one) and that he apologized to the lady, the orchestra and others who experienced his behavior had to be annoyed and shocked, i know i was.

It is really tempo - wise and rhythmically the most precise and correct, yet very musical and highly expressive, powerful and crystal clear playing, what I have never heard from a pianist before, regarding this concerto. THIS is really MUSIC, not some ridiculous nonsense sensational self - performance, fully packed with slided, uncertain tempo - changing or using molto ritartando and sforzando everywhere, leaded by sentimental emotions, out of the proper musical control. Not here! Look at the orchestra how much they accepted and loved this guy! The reason is just so clear for me. I have never seen anyone to conduct this concerto this beautifully than Mr Juanjo Mena did. His care and sensitivity to direct this deeply poetic romantic masterpiece, feels absolutely amazing and extraordinary. The full orchestra and especially the solo instruments were absolutely wonderful. This performance is going to be on of the few very favourite ones of mine.
    Thanks for sharing.

I don't understand that kind of genius, that kind of perfection. If in doubt, a Lang Lang can always look at the notes. But Nobuyuki Tsujii can't see the notes, he has them all in his head. Every quarter note, eighth note, sixteenth note, thirty-second note, etc. every attack, every rest, every largo, lento, moderato, presto and prestissiomo, every crescendo and fortissimo etc. This is what makes Nobuyuki Tsujii so unique. Only God can forgive such a talent.

+Robert Jessen I totally agree with you how someone with a disability such as that could end up being such a wonderful pianist. A few years ago i watched a couple hours on TV of the latest Van Cliburn competition. IF i am not mistaken, i believe this person won in the finals. I'm sure he had an excellent instructor, and probably learned by using a combination of listening to the music, using braille sheet music and what must have been endless hours of practice, which in time i'm sure became most enjoyable. I believe Victor Borge' played this in concert when he was only 14 On another note ( lol ) have you ever heard of Erroll Garner? One of the greatest jazz pianists ever. He could not read one-note of music yet he was a genius on the keyboard. Unbelievable.

BRAVO !

Recall the 1st time I heard R’s #2, was 14 yrs old and an uncle showed up with a stack of 78’s and the box-like thing to play them. It was Rubenstein playing. I was just knocked off my feet. I’ am old enough that I can recall today the thrill of my father coming home-with a radio! At three, I discovered MUSIC!! The things that people take for granted. . . This wonderful boy just adds to the thrills entering my heart!! Thank you very much.

Well this concert brought me to tears. My mother introduced me to Rachmaninov and I have loved his music from the first day. Now hearing Nobuyuki play the Concerto No.2 has made me love it that much more and that's after being a fan of his for 30 some years. The emotion he brought to this piece was amazing and then to know he is blind just makes it even that much more special.
