    Double your chain throw it through. Take your j hook and connect your ratchet to it. 1 chain becomes 2.

      @@tollboothjimmytrucking. honestly you did such a good job tarping i dont think you needed that strap on the back. Straps on tarps seem to never really fix a bad tarp job, atleast in my experience. Fletcher needs to start telling students to watch your videos. Lots of new guys out here that werent trained well or they just havent seen alot of these loads yet.

      @@mjmclaughlin720 thanks. I do t like fletcher training at all. The strap is just to keep the cape from flapping and help keep it folded in.

    You didn't put enough chains on the load

    I thought it was non DOT legal if you use the rail to chain anything down

      If it has a WLL and most trailers do. If you really want to know there there a plaque on the trailers that tells the wll on stake pockets rail etc.

    What is the individual weight of each coil?

  • @dogsandguns2625

    You should have them together. Secure the back from forward and side movements. Then just take a 4 inch and connect 2 together with 1 strap. Do the same on the forward hole. The back will act as a anchor. It's indirect. Does this make sense to you?

      At steelscape coils can’t be touching each other. what your saying is dangerous and illegal using a strap to hold two coils together. In the hand book section 3.3.3. One tie down forward and onetie down rearward on each coil.

    • @dogsandguns2625
      @dogsandguns2625 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tollboothjimmytrucking. it depends on what coil as well. As long as it is not going to cut the strap the ends of the coils can touch. You go through and around and indirect strap 2 together. It's not illegal. This what we do at system transport. However not all coils are open like that. Others allow for only 1 or 2 chains to go through. If I could I would show you a example of how to do those coils. Anyways just trying to help you out. Not the best at explaining stuff

      @@tollboothjimmytrucking. yeah i see. Was not really watching. These one yeah no touch. But there's other ways to do things. I was referring to coils that are on I guess called spools? But it's that edge I was talking about. Those you can tie together.

      @@dogsandguns2625 I get it like a slinky load. I’ve see 100 of system at steelscape and never seen this done. In your green book like I explained you have to have two chains per coil. But send me a video when you get this load to show me

      @@tollboothjimmytrucking. there is a whole load with steel tube. All secured using straps. No spool. I got a picture I would like to share. There together and it's a legal load tie down. Sucks I can't show on this form of communication

    That why I quit prime because of all the messed up trailers and pocket winches being crushed from drivers hooking the stake pocket.
