Elation is the in-game representation of Absurdism. Both Nihilism (Nihility) and Absurdism (Elation) are philosophies that derive from different answers to the question "What's the meaning of life?" To Nihilism not only life, but everyrhing is meaningless, so we should act accordingly. This doesn't mean to be depressed by it (Nietzche would hate such thing) but rather that we ourselves should give meaning to things, questioning meanings and morals and to not be subject of them. Nietzche, one of the main Nihilistic thinkers, opposed hardly to Christianity (represented by Order in-game) and other religions cause to him they put shackles on humans and offer us beautiful lies so we don't see the world as it is (Penacony much?). To Nietzche, the world is chaotic and only Art can transfigure the world's chaos into Beauty, turning acceptable what's problematic in life (interestingly, Idrila/Beauty is missing in HSR...). Absurdism arose after Nihilism, in a kind of response to it. To Absurdists, like Nihilists, everything is meaningless. But if everything is meaningless we need to find the joy in it. To live our lives fully is to recognize the meaningless in everything, that the existence is Absurd and to find joy in it. In the game, this is represented by Aha laughing in the face of the Absurd that is living in a game. The parable of Sisyphus is the main representation of how we should approach life in Absurdism: in it, Sisyphus is doomed to push a rock up a mountain only for it to fall when he reaches the top and being forced to do it again. Albert Camus answer to it is that, since Sisyphus is doomed for all eternity anyway and he can't escape, he should find joy in whatever the way he can. In the game, this is taken to the extra level by the Fools. Absurdism doesn't preach that we should be nonsensical criminals, acting only through our wishes, but rather we should find joy and beauty in our routines, in order to be happy despite the meaningless of it all.
Also if you read Nietzsche's life work you should know that while he did coin the concept of Nihilism, he also opposed it, thus coming up with the Ubermensch, which is a pseudo Existentialist-esque idea that we should be the ones forging our ideals. In other words, IX is the obstacle that everyone must face once in their life but only the strong can overcome its influence and become their own person. Self Annihilators are the ones who've fallen into the Nihility and see no hope in fighting; Doctors of Chaos are people who're fighting to become the Ubermensch, and Acheron being THE Ubermensch since she became an Emanator who's theoretically impossible to exist and also wants to kill IX (an Aeon). We can also say she's Nietzsche's representative in way.

My reason for believing this is because Mourning Actors use Gondalas, which has some origin in Venice, Italy. And that Elation has etymological origin from the French. Take with that as you wish … I’ve been meaning to look deeper into it but … then ZZZ was released XD
i personally think either sparkle or sampo or maybe even both are emanators of aha (i think sampo being the emanator of aha would be hilarious mostly to annoy all of the sampo haters lol (its something i would do ngl))

It is important to note that AHA has chosen its emanator’s that represent tragedy and comedy to its fullest and HahaRatio (Dr.Ratio) represents upmost tragedy due to his fruitless but hilarious pursuit to join the Genius society. Remember that Aha once blessed a worm to be THEIR emanator just so they could join the Genius society; so it is reasonable to presume that a similar attempt is in progress with Ha. Ratio.

In particular, there is a possibility of Dr. Ratio being too fed up with his lack of progress in being recognized from the Genius Society so him and a bunch of members of the Intelligentsia Guild rebrand themselves to form the faction, The Academic Clowns, that yearn to educate others through laughter as their scientific studies have shown that those who laugh and have fun while learning retain information more than others. So to enhance the erudition, HahaRatio vows to embrace the elation. Perhaps by following the elation, Dr. Ratio could seek the approval of Nous (AHA will still probably make Dr. Ratio an emanator just to laugh at his failures).
I would like to mention that it's not his understanding of the universe that got him to aeon-hood, it's seeing a falling baby from space that made him laugh, it's the baby that transformed him into an aeon

The moment you question the motive of Aha and Sparkle or their intentions behind everything, I finally understand the meaning of "Why so serious?". And therefore, I don't care what they do. If they want to sit on the fence in the midst of chaos, then go ahead as I go and save or destroy the world. So I have been thinking about the similarites of *Trailblazer* and *Kris* from Deltarune. Both MC are silent protagonist that have a mind of their own yet we still can control what they do (although limited to the game system). This is related to the existence of player outside the 4th wall as part of the story/lore and Aha was actually was hinting that in SimUni
And also aha the elation reminds me of Jevil. There both super crazy and unpredictable and they have a “I can do anything!!!” Type of vibe. Like how aha blew up the astral express just because why not? And how jevil went on a rampage and he started becoming super crazy and playful because he figured out the “truth” or something…
Personally, I feel that Sampo is the Emanator of Elation if not Aha in disguise, they are literally giving us hints. He was the first one to break the 4th wall, he led us to everything that happened in Jarilo-6, we saw him on every planet till now ( except Xianzou but he sent us a ‘surprise’ there ). He wasn’t rated by the rating pistol ( both the playable Emanators in the game rn ( Acheron and Jing Yuan ) also wasn’t rated by the rating pistol ( Loucha and March 7th as well, but we know nothing about them ) ( also fun fact: Hanabi gets rated by the rating pistol, her rating is: 55 points.) He is definitely connected to Aha somehow, idk now, but we surely are gonna see that in the future.
Given that you can hear Aha Laughing during Phantylia boss fight. To me he is hear for the show and the Astral Express/Trailblazer is he's entertainment.
I don't think AHA and Masked Fools actually break the 4thwall They just see that the world follows the story tropes, that the world works like story/game/movie. That their world has protagonists and side characters,etc. They can only guess if there is actually a 4th wall or not,they don't know.
I've speculated for a while that the game itself is a simulated universe, or a game so this video is so validating. In the video description of the acheron and black swan dance, it insinuates the universe is in a loop of some kind. I found it interesting Device IX is pronounced "device 9" instead of IX, like the aeon is. My speculation is that Device IX represents that the universe is on it's 9th "reset" or 9th iteration. Acheron says the Device IX is where "reality" and Nihilty are separated.
Aha being aware they're inside the video game is probably why they send their followers in every stop the trailblazer goes in order to observe the protagonist of the game their in.
I bet an emanator of Elation would be as strong, if not stronger, than Acheron. My reason is: since Nihility is about how nothing matters and thus doing anything is meaningless in the name of depression, Elation would be the opposite, it's in the name of joyfulness. So now we have 3 opposition Aeons: 1. Erudition and Enigmata 2. Nihility and Elation 3. Destruction and Preservation/Abundance
I don't think Nihility and Elation are opposites. Elation's thinking is more: "nothing matters, so I'm just going to laugh and have fun while I can", which doesn't exactly contradict Nihility. In fact, when Aha was at the top of the tree, he would probably become a Self-Annihilator, but the baby's cry that he heard made him laugh and ascend to the Aeon of Elation.
First of all, not every emanator is made with sheer strength and crazy powers. So an elation emanator would just be a trickster and Sparkle is the closest to that. An Elation emanator wouldn't be as strong as Acheron but might be able to trick an emanator on Acheron's level or even higher levels which why why they are scary. The emanators with raw power only belong to the paths like the Destruction, Propagation, Hunt, Preservation and maybe the Voracity if that Aeon still exists. Black Swan is an emanator and cannot battle that well, Herta cannot battle either and supposing that Elio is an emanator of Finality, he also uses the Stellaron Hunters to do his bidding since his powers are restricted to predicting the future. The day he'll see his death in his script, it's over for him and he wouldn't be able to stop it by any means since he is the Desitny's Slave (and so far everything he has predicted has come true). And we can also suppose that Robin is an emanator of Harmony because if you see her backstory, she's very accepting and loving and truly embodies the Harmony (and she could control the Harmonius Choir like Sunday who had reached emanator levels of power comparable to the powerful emanators like Acheron, Diamond and Jing Yuan with a mix of the Order's gift, the Stellaron's powers and access the Harmonius Choir) but clearly she's more of a supporter and back-up/ally than being the main character. Sparkle is the closest to an emanator of Elation amd in her trailer she proclaims that she is Elation meaning she does embody Elation very well, so we know that if Sparkle isn't the emanator and someone else is, they'll still just be similar to her in power levels. Also Sparkle has multiple powers, she can do a perfect disguise, create duplicates as shown in Acheron's trailer, can make you fall asleep or hypnotise/create hallucinations like in the end of the 2.3 story when we had to find the bomb or how she toyed with Acheron. And since there can be multiple emanators of the same Aeon, we could find out that Sparkle was a confirmed emanator later on with the reveal of another more evil one (maybe one of the Mourning Actors).

A pathstrider is a single stream, while an emantator is a gigantic wave and an aeon is all of water itself, thats the difference in abilities and power. Secondly, it is very debatable whether Black Swan is an emanator since if she was, she should have been able to figure out she was in Ena's dream given the rememberance's juridiction in dreams and memories, but she needed to use our memories to wake up. Robin isn't an emanator similarly to Jing Yuan, think of them like Adventurine just borrowing the powers of one. The other emanators you listed do not display any crazy abilities simply because they didn't have to, Herta wasn't even worried when her space station was attacked and she has only been using her puppets so far. We don't know anything about Elio's status so no comment. I do agree Sparkle is sus as hell given she perfectly embodies elation but others would have remarked about her status, Boothill has met an emanator of elation yet he didn't say anything about Sparkle, or maybe shes that good that he didn't realise. The game is very clear about who is and who isn't an emanator since the difference in terms of power is very very noticable.
Most aeons are in pairs of two that their ideals are opposed to each other: 1.Destruction vs preservation 2. abundace vs the hunt 3. Rememberence and erudition vs enigmata 4. (Maybe trailblaze vs nihility? I'm not too sure) Elation's (chaos's) antithesis is clearly Order and harmony so that's one of the reasons both Ena and Xipe alongside Aha itself really intrigue me I really hope we are not done with the order and harmony just because penacony is over

Before just starting the game I hated Sampo but now that I actually understand the game and lore more I actually really like him now I think elation is by far my favorite aeon in the game
The true motivations of Aha lies in how the Fools call them. The Laughter. Aha is all about the next laugh, what is funny to them. Unlike the Masked Fools who each has a personal line they won't cross in the name of getting a laugh, Aha doesn't have a line. As long as they find it funny they will do it. From making a worm an Emanator to blowing up the Astral Express, it's all about the next laugh and there's nothing they won't do for it. The only thing we can count on Aha to have is self preservation. They don't want to die or have their existence threatened. That's why they fought against the Propagation and sent the Fools to fight the swarm. It was out of pure self preservation.

There is a theory that the Aeons are created in pairs...and I believe the current theory is that the Elation is counterpart to the Nihility. The thing that the term Nihility has two side to it...the usual "Everything is meaningless so why bother" kind...but then there is what is called "Positive Nihility"...the mindset where If the universe and existence truly is meaning less, then what is stopping you from living it to its fullest" ...basically you might as well have fun I think that description fits Aha very well.

Why is Sparkle omniscient and helps tons of characters go in the right path for things to end well? She appears in Acheron's trailer impersonating Stellaron Hunters. She apperas in Firefly's trailer as the enemie robot. She helps Firefly die safely (she works for Elio??????) She helps Aventurine with little tips. She trys to help us, disguised as Sampo, when Firefly is not being honest about her identity. Sparkle is not an emanator. Just a pathstrider. Sampo is the emanator if anything and I see that reveal coming sooner than later. Giovanni (NPC from past events) I’m not sure but I do hope we learn more about him If someone is an emanator, they get revealed as one pretty quickly. Another thing is the rating pistol. Emanators and Lan’s general arbiters get a rating invalid. March 7th and Sampo also get rating invalid. Their backstories are so vague and mysterious. Also Sampo breaks the 4th wall and is omnipresent 😊

So I have been thinking about the similarites of *Trailblazer* and *Kris* from Deltarune.
Both MC are silent protagonist that have a mind of their own yet we still can control what they do (although limited to the game system). This is related to the existence of player outside the 4th wall as part of the story/lore and Aha was actually was hinting that in SimUni
And also aha the elation reminds me of Jevil. There both super crazy and unpredictable and they have a “I can do anything!!!” Type of vibe. Like how aha blew up the astral express just because why not? And how jevil went on a rampage and he started becoming super crazy and playful because he figured out the “truth” or something…

Personally, I feel that Sampo is the Emanator of Elation if not Aha in disguise, they are literally giving us hints. He was the first one to break the 4th wall, he led us to everything that happened in Jarilo-6, we saw him on every planet till now ( except Xianzou but he sent us a ‘surprise’ there ). He wasn’t rated by the rating pistol ( both the playable Emanators in the game rn ( Acheron and Jing Yuan ) also wasn’t rated by the rating pistol ( Loucha and March 7th as well, but we know nothing about them ) ( also fun fact: Hanabi gets rated by the rating pistol, her rating is: 55 points.) He is definitely connected to Aha somehow, idk now, but we surely are gonna see that in the future.
Given that you can hear Aha Laughing during Phantylia boss fight. To me he is hear for the show and the Astral Express/Trailblazer is he's entertainment.
I don't think AHA and Masked Fools actually break the 4thwall
They just see that the world follows the story tropes, that the world works like story/game/movie.
That their world has protagonists and side characters,etc.
They can only guess if there is actually a 4th wall or not,they don't know.

I've speculated for a while that the game itself is a simulated universe, or a game so this video is so validating.
In the video description of the acheron and black swan dance, it insinuates the universe is in a loop of some kind.
I found it interesting Device IX is pronounced "device 9" instead of IX, like the aeon is.
My speculation is that Device IX represents that the universe is on it's 9th "reset" or 9th iteration.
Acheron says the Device IX is where "reality" and Nihilty are separated.
Aha being aware they're inside the video game is probably why they send their followers in every stop the trailblazer goes in order to observe the protagonist of the game their in.

I bet an emanator of Elation would be as strong, if not stronger, than Acheron. My reason is: since Nihility is about how nothing matters and thus doing anything is meaningless in the name of depression, Elation would be the opposite, it's in the name of joyfulness. So now we have 3 opposition Aeons:
1. Erudition and Enigmata
2. Nihility and Elation
3. Destruction and Preservation/Abundance
I don't think Nihility and Elation are opposites. Elation's thinking is more: "nothing matters, so I'm just going to laugh and have fun while I can", which doesn't exactly contradict Nihility. In fact, when Aha was at the top of the tree, he would probably become a Self-Annihilator, but the baby's cry that he heard made him laugh and ascend to the Aeon of Elation.
A minor correction: The hunt is the opposite of Abundance, Rememberance is the opposite of Destruction(or rather the opposite)
First of all, not every emanator is made with sheer strength and crazy powers. So an elation emanator would just be a trickster and Sparkle is the closest to that. An Elation emanator wouldn't be as strong as Acheron but might be able to trick an emanator on Acheron's level or even higher levels which why why they are scary. The emanators with raw power only belong to the paths like the Destruction, Propagation, Hunt, Preservation and maybe the Voracity if that Aeon still exists. Black Swan is an emanator and cannot battle that well, Herta cannot battle either and supposing that Elio is an emanator of Finality, he also uses the Stellaron Hunters to do his bidding since his powers are restricted to predicting the future. The day he'll see his death in his script, it's over for him and he wouldn't be able to stop it by any means since he is the Desitny's Slave (and so far everything he has predicted has come true). And we can also suppose that Robin is an emanator of Harmony because if you see her backstory, she's very accepting and loving and truly embodies the Harmony (and she could control the Harmonius Choir like Sunday who had reached emanator levels of power comparable to the powerful emanators like Acheron, Diamond and Jing Yuan with a mix of the Order's gift, the Stellaron's powers and access the Harmonius Choir) but clearly she's more of a supporter and back-up/ally than being the main character. Sparkle is the closest to an emanator of Elation amd in her trailer she proclaims that she is Elation meaning she does embody Elation very well, so we know that if Sparkle isn't the emanator and someone else is, they'll still just be similar to her in power levels. Also Sparkle has multiple powers, she can do a perfect disguise, create duplicates as shown in Acheron's trailer, can make you fall asleep or hypnotise/create hallucinations like in the end of the 2.3 story when we had to find the bomb or how she toyed with Acheron. And since there can be multiple emanators of the same Aeon, we could find out that Sparkle was a confirmed emanator later on with the reveal of another more evil one (maybe one of the Mourning Actors).

@@winterycold In the official hsr databank newsletter on hoyolab, emanators are described to be incomparable to a normal pathstrider. A pathstrider is a single stream, while an emantator is a gigantic wave and an aeon is all of water itself, thats the difference in abilities and power. Secondly, it is very debatable whether Black Swan is an emanator since if she was, she should have been able to figure out she was in Ena's dream given the rememberance's juridiction in dreams and memories, but she needed to use our memories to wake up. Robin isn't an emanator similarly to Jing Yuan, think of them like Adventurine just borrowing the powers of one. The other emanators you listed do not display any crazy abilities simply because they didn't have to, Herta wasn't even worried when her space station was attacked and she has only been using her puppets so far. We don't know anything about Elio's status so no comment. I do agree Sparkle is sus as hell given she perfectly embodies elation but others would have remarked about her status, Boothill has met an emanator of elation yet he didn't say anything about Sparkle, or maybe shes that good that he didn't realise. The game is very clear about who is and who isn't an emanator since the difference in terms of power is very very noticable.
Most aeons are in pairs of two that their ideals are opposed to each other:
1.Destruction vs preservation
2. abundace vs the hunt
3. Rememberence and erudition vs enigmata
4. (Maybe trailblaze vs nihility? I'm not too sure)
Elation's (chaos's) antithesis is clearly Order and harmony so that's one of the reasons both Ena and Xipe alongside Aha itself really intrigue me

Before just starting the game I hated Sampo but now that I actually understand the game and lore more I actually really like him now I think elation is by far my favorite aeon in the game

The true motivations of Aha lies in how the Fools call them. The Laughter. Aha is all about the next laugh, what is funny to them. Unlike the Masked Fools who each has a personal line they won't cross in the name of getting a laugh, Aha doesn't have a line. As long as they find it funny they will do it. From making a worm an Emanator to blowing up the Astral Express, it's all about the next laugh and there's nothing they won't do for it.
The only thing we can count on Aha to have is self preservation. They don't want to die or have their existence threatened. That's why they fought against the Propagation and sent the Fools to fight the swarm. It was out of pure self preservation.

The thing that the term Nihility has two side to it...the usual "Everything is meaningless so why bother" kind...but then there is what is called "Positive Nihility"...the mindset where If the universe and existence truly is meaning less, then what is stopping you from living it to its fullest" ...basically you might as well have fun

Boothill says he met an emanator of elation once. he said he only figured it out after they had too many soulglad. Its unclear if he had too many or the emanator. Also sparkle returns sampos mask. The rating gun gives the same message to sampo that it does for acheron. Hinting that sampo is an emanator. It also seems like sparkle is in charge of sampo wich leads me to believe that sparkle is aha! Whats elation me im elation!

If someone is an emanator, they get revealed as one pretty quickly. Another thing is the rating pistol. Emanators and Lan’s general arbiters get a rating invalid. March 7th and Sampo also get rating invalid. Their backstories are so vague and mysterious. Also Sampo breaks the 4th wall and is omnipresent 😊
