I am moving back to school very soon so I wanted to make one more somewhat higher quality video before I go, but unfortunately that means I probably won't be uploading much/at all until December, unless I somehow have the time and energy to make more TASes during the semester. This is my first more edited video in awhile so it should hopefully be a bit higher quality than my older ones, but let me know if you have any feedback on the editing since I'm still really bad.
Disclaimer: in addition to being Tool Assisted this video uses a few hacks to improve the visuals (most notably changing camera position and making it so the stars can be seen from a further distance) but these hacks have no impact on the gameplay and the original TAS was made without any of them enabled
If you read this far you are pretty cool, unfortunately for you this description is a bit shorter than usual so I have no money for description readers

Wow, that was impressive! I just thought you’d lose a silver star on purpose to have it bounce around and THEN collect everything all at once with help from RNG, but you definitely surprised me with the actual outcome!
I somehow never considered that, that would maybe be easier
the hard part would probably then be manipulating the silver star to the right position, probably from the nearby Mr I (and then collect its coin after releasing the silver star). this also would work if you pick up all five silver stars ahead of time, because you can still lose one to despawn the star temporarily.
0:57 Metal Wario is like that Smash player that already knows that you lost but he wants to disrispect you instead of letting you die.

I'm honestly also impressed that the game handled this super-exception so flawlessly, with the camera panning out just enough for all the stars to be visible.

I really do wish people would work on speedrunning and cracking this game apart too. There's a lot to be discovered, I bet
@@Professor_Utonium_this game has already been broken, probably close to its limit, the same with super mario 64, its a bit like GTA games, they are so full of interaction that still to this day people discover new easter eggs or glitches, this game is broken in a different way than super mario 64, sm64 got BLJs (considering low ceiling blj, sblj and others), MIPS clip, first frame wall kick hyperspeed and such stuff, minor glitches like thwomp ground pound through, sm64ds got quantum jumps or whatever they are called where you basically noclip the ground, there are dive resets to jump wall kick infinitely, there are side long jumps, bunny wall clip and other minor glitches aswell, both games are probably already broken to their maximum now, there only can be some more minor glitches I bet

This is the kind of stuff I love to see and do. Unnessicarilly difficult and complicated things that are totally pointless to do other than just for fun. I try to do things like this all the time. Not to this extreme though haha
somehow i didn't know that the metal cap lava interaction was changed in the remake. learned something new i wasn't expecting!
It gets a sand property similar to the sand inside of the pyramid. With cheats, Metal Wario can actually sink completely in the lava after some time.
that's a huge change from the original game's invincible lava bounces, so wild
It kind of makes sense since there's no way to actually have that interaction without cheating in the original game, so it's just the invincibility mechanic of metal mario working in an unintended way, where in this game it's an actual intended mechanic

This is really cool. It’s good to know that the sound effect of a star spawning is the same instrument that is featured in the water music. But let me ask you this. How did you get the silver stars star to be selectable if you hadn’t gotten every star before it?
When I first made the TAS, I had 150 stars, I just used hacks later to un-collect all of the stars shown in the video, because the yellow star texture is much easier to see and looks nicer

I haven't forgotten the time _Colour Splash_ did this _intentionally._ One subworld in the Green area had two Progression Tokens right next to each other, for no other reason than to count that subworld in the playtime twice. It would be a brilliant satire of shameless padding, if I didn't have to _play the damn thing._

If only it were like Mario Odyssey, where you can collect each moon without leaving the level. Mario 64 and 64 DS do have the 100 coin stars which do not boot you out of the level, but there’s only one of those per level

I discovered some glitches in this game that I haven't seen documented anywhere
What are they

1. There's a one-frame window where you can jump after breaking a breakable block from a ground pound
2. This same one-frame window exists when dropping off a hangable ceiling
3. There's a *very* small gap between the top of the wall and the bottom of the fence near the bridge in Bob-omb Battlefield with the coins underneath it that you can clip through by wall-kicking (extremely precise)
4. You can delay King Bob-omb's ending text by jumping before he lands. If you enter a cannon, even better. However, if you try to do glitch #1 with this, the frame you're able to jump will display the text box

This is a similar method as the N64 version
I remember using an action replay and there was a unique riding Koopa shell code that could let you stay in levels after collecting stars… don’t remember the exact nature of things or how the glitch was executed. Can it be even classified as a glitch, though? It’s more like an interaction between a cheat code and the game itself.
Same thing happens in the original N64 game with the moon jump cheat. Upon death or star get, if you moon jump during the animation
