You missed the detail of the Peach painting only opening her eyes when you face away from her. It's not just random blinking. Also, casually talks about the SimpleFlips Creepypasta competition, but doesn't mention the well-deserved winner of said competition, Regular Pasta 64.
What I love about the last one is the phrase "we have to do something special for you" really makes you think it's something related to Mario and Peach themselves since that is what Peach tells Mario at the end of the game, but then it's revealed to be misleading where Mario has nothing to do with it and it was just the last phrase the father says before getting to his child. The only thing Mario related to the story is that the kid has a Mario 64 poster in his room
Honestly with how the hack is structured, it makes it seem like Mario is discovering this after the fact. He's not in any danger, simply learning of things he is powerless to do anything about.
The fact multiple ROM Hack's were covered was a real surprise to me. But I'm not complaining, especially since I haven't seen a few of them. The rabbit hole of Mario 64 horror really never ends...

I've got one. "The Picture of Bob-omb Battlefield." It's nothing groundbreaking and it does take inspiration from Undertale in case that's a turn-off for you, but I just think it's neat little hack that's a nice break from all of the gory/glitchy stuff that most horror hacks fall into.

I would recommend he either practice a lot more with this unfortunate control style before recording, or only play Mario roms with a proper controller (they are not expensive). The reason this kind of matters here is because half of the video is just watching him struggle with exaggerated, self-caused difficulty. The horror should come from scary game design... not from every single long-jump causing 15 deaths due to user error. That many unnecessary deaths is not only distracting but it reduces the horror of the game to the background. Is this part REALLY hard because the designer wanted it that way? Or is it just incompetent gameplay? These questions are clouded by videos like this. Just my two cents.

Also I kind of like the deviation from the norm here in terms of focusing on his playthrough rather than simply discussing it at length and limiting his input to wacky aftereffects.

Or option 3, put something in the title letting viewers know that this video is more about his failing than about the game. You might want to check out Lego Island analog horror I don't know the full story on it but I just found it on a random Channel named Soulym it's a very strange and an unusual analog horror I don't know much about it I just watched it today they also use some AI voice for one of the characters but it fits it in really well you'll be shocked how much creativity it has it's also 12 videos of content I don't know if there's any secret ones I would like you to do a video on it love your content my friend😊

a tip for long jumping, run, then crouch, and then jump. i have a feeling you're pressing crouch and jump at the same time which results in you ground pounding sometimes, as ground pounding is jump, and then crouch
Gear certainly is bad at the game. Glad to see he doesn’t give up though. He should consider doing the dives after a jump for added distance and learning some other techniques. Also play regular mario 64 warm up in a much friendlier environment. You may find yourself absorbing skills better that way.
I think the first and second hacks tie for the best ones. Mostly because there is a degree of challenge for them but the second one shown is probably the hardest especially the boss chase sequence. I can imagine that being difficult without cheats. Also the fact that these two hacks possibly have Peach as the villain.
And that viewers, is why we use save states. Can you imagine the unbearable hell if we didnt? Need to stop bad mouthing save sates used on playthroughs, specially with stuff like this. Alot of mod creators have save states in mind when designing these ROM Hacks!
