    I agree with your opinion on not needing certs in the private sector, however working with DoD or Gov requires at a minimum of Sec+. Then would require other certs, depending on the position. Great video!

      That’s absolutely right. Gov completely skipped my mind. Thanks!!

    First I want to say It's so Amazing seeing Black Powerful Men in such an Well known field. I've been in IT For about 6 Months now as Help Desk Specialist (Tier 2). I'm in the process of studying for my CYSA+ And then Security+. any suggestions or tips as far as going into Cyber Security?

    • @pushtoprod
      @pushtoprod  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Security + is a great place to start but make sure you also stay current with actual security events and attacks that are taking place. I also recommend getting comfortable with a scripting language. They are becoming more and more necessary.

    Thanks for this video, I work for the DOD as a federal officer and my job pays for my cybersecurity course so now I am transitioning into something new. Cybersecurity is hard but 1 thing that motivated me way more when you guys were talking about college and how things are different when hands on. I wish there was a way to ask you guys more questions honestly. Thanks King's

    Thanks for making this video I’m just starting the process of figuring out exactly how to get started in learning. Income from the corporate background but always have been interested and worked in IT outside of a professional capacity. So I have the aptitude it’s more of just figuring out how to get started in networking and whether or not I should get a cert or get my degree. Thanks for the info!

    I’m currently studying for the AWS Solutions Architect cert, then I plan on getting the Developer & SysOps Certs. I have no prior I.T. knowledge or experience (have a Bachelor’s but not IT related). Should I start applying for cloud engineering positions before or after I obtain all three AWS Certs? In addition, are there any other Certs or things I should try to learn to improve my chances of landing an interview?

    Great video. Just found your channel. I am currently studying for Comptia A+ at the moment. Took an interest in Python aswell. My goal is to get into a career in Cloud. Trying to make a roadmap to get into Cloud that I am not sure how to get into. I do not have any experience in IT so thats why i choose to get a Comptia A+ cert to just break into IT. Just not sure what would be my next steps would be at. Would you, or anyone can answer, recommend studying for a cloud cert afterwards or would you say study for other certs first such as Network +, CCNA, or something else? Also any resources on the topic is welcome. Thanks.

      Adrian Gonzalez I recommend jumping into the your studies for cloud. So pick which service you want to master and get certified in it. Great job throwing in some python, that will help tremendously. CBT nuggets and of course plural sight both have great content.

    Would a cert such as Security+ and a couple cybersecurity python projects be enough for a student who doesn't have the work experience for an entry level or internship? Wondering if I should learn Python a bit to add some projects that have to deal with cybersecurity on my resume/github while studying for my Security+, salute to all of yall spreading knowledge!

    Great information. I've been an IT support specialist for about 5 years. I don't have any certs and I don't have a Comp Sci degree, but I have a hunger for knowledge and a lot of experience with Classroom Technology, Troubleshooting, Remote Support, Networking, etc. With all of that I'm struggling to find the next step up in my career path, I've considered pursuing a Systems Administration or a Network Analyst position but without experience in those fields, I don't feel confident in applying. Any tips, on how to break into new fields? Do I need certs, how do I get experience for the position, etc? Again, great videos!

    • @pushtoprod
      @pushtoprod  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steven Budhan I would say start watching training videos on TH-cam, Udemy, or some other platform. Start looking at job descriptions and start learning whatever is under the “Required skills.” I would even says start applying to some just to get use to how the interviews feel.
      Getting certs would help if you chose the networking route. It will increase your confidence and help out on your resume.
