Hi, we are the official community of the "Book 4: Air (Restoration Project)." It is a community-made show bringing together pro VAs (from anime and video games), composers, writers (one who wrote promo materials for Avatar: The Last Airbender), sound engineers, comic artists, and more to create a pseudo-Book 4.
Using the official comics as well as original materials to flesh out the story, completely reorchestrated versions of the original soundtrack as well as new music, the project is creating a fully-dubbed and scored motion comic!
We’ve even recreated the Tsungi horn, a fictional instrument created for ATLA using a complicated audio process called “convolution” to combine the sound of a duduk and a trombone. That’s the haunting instrument you hear in the Blue Spirit theme.
Help us make the rest of Book 4, including original content!
This is so awesome!! I'm blind and always wanted to read the comics after the show ended. I'm so glad I found this... Lol and Toph's blind joke about the fireworks made me laugh out loud. Thank you all for doing this and hope you continue. 💙
We are so happy to hear that our project has made it possible for you to experience the comics! Accessibility is one of our main goals so this comment made our day! We hope we can do the comics justice so everyone can enjoy them.

Thank you!
Cant believe roku would want to kill his great grandchild 😭
I know that everyone here is talking about VA but damn! The motion here is really good !! Whoever did the motion, u nailed it!
I'll send your comment to Video Team! They'll really appreciate it!
Zuko: Hey, Aang, you know how you couldn't bring yourself to kill my father who is pure evil and tried to incinerate the entire Earth Kingdom?
Well if I ever go bad, I need you to end me, your friend and firebending master.
Aang: OK.
The double sweetie really threw me off 😭

Ash makers is crazy 💀
It's kinda sad that Zuko has to deal with all the fire lord stuffs and didn't get to be happy, have a tea with uncle Iroh and relax and spent time with his friends.
"Heavy is the head that wears the crown..."
It's just an endless struggle. One must imagine Sisyphus happy
Yea but Zuko is whining over little stuff (no hate intended)
It’s crazy to me how fine the Gaang was just killing Zuko
We like to think that Aang and co didn’t mean it when they agreed. They were just saying whatever Zuko wanted to hear so he’d stop killing the vibe and calm down.
Yeah its kinda messed up but zuko technically as close to the group as the others were if that makes sense
The comics are so out of character it’s crazy lmao. That’s why I don’t consider them canon.
@stargirIll yeah it reads like fanfiction too. Aang enters the avatar state and can't control himself? Bro he already underwent an arc to fix that and they just forgot about it to fabricate conflict.
@@Raigaara he can still enter the avatar state in rage
Sokkas voice actor is doing an AMAZING job capturing Jack de Senas original performance

Thank you so much 🥺💖✨
Sokka is spot-on.
didnt expect them to sound exactly like the actual VAs but they all did really well except for aang. with everyone else it doesnt take much of a stretch of the imagination to hear the original VA voices from the show in this vid, but with aang, the fact it sounds nothing like him is just too jarring, not to mention his VA changed a quarter of the way through. still gonna try to stay immersed anyway. this is the closest we'll ever get to an animated book 4. i still dont like aang's va tho, just trying roll with it.
Your Zuko's voice is pretty good but the accent is on the wrong note :)
@@sphinx3749The change in VA part way through is due to a time skip. Aang and Toph both have a younger VA and an older(present) VA. This is due to them being the youngest of the Gaang, so their voices experienced the greatest change during the time skip. Puberty is wild.

How is this project still so under the radar?!?? Truly amazing work you guys outdid yourself!
If I were Bryke, I'd ask Nickelodeon and Dark Horse to leave this project alone. If they were willing, I'd quietly reach out to the people behind it and clarify: As long as it's available non-commercially (particularly due to the trademarks), the option to ignore it exists. Can't endorse or support it, but the option to ignore it exists as long as they aren't required to defend some legal assets.
I don't know this happened. It could've.

@@Him7324 At the time of that post, we did a different release in my channel. There were some editing goofs here and there and we fixed it for this upload. As much as we could at least. Thanks for watching though! Sorry it didn't do it for you.
@@WrBlPro nah ignore him, this is so amazing, keep doing what you do, i love this so much
Although I would suggest getting a teenager (12-13) to voice Aang, he sounds to much like an adult, but I think that his voice is PERFECT for an Adult Aang or maybe Ikem when you do the Search, I think what I suggested is the perfect piece to the puzzle! thanks ❤️
@@dart763 Appreciate the feedback. There's a part of me that agrees with it. I'd probably would've gotten someone younger too, if it was me casting Aang (my other coshowrunner gave me Aang!). But, if I may, I'm gonna explain their reasoning. I had a lot of doubts about it. But I get it.
After watching the original series and reading the comics and recording two issues, I pretty much understood this way. Aang has a bold way of talking as a kid that he would get something of a deeper voice when puberty hits (in relation to Aang and not his voice actor Zach Eisen). Kinda like how Sora's voice in Kingdom Hearts is, or as my fellow coshowrunner put it, Yuri Lowenthal.
Aang is actually 14 in the comic. Ending of the series, he's 13, then there's a time skip. Then Aang kept getting taller, and we don't want to change the voice constantly for the sake of cohesion.
There's also the fact that he and Katara have talks about getting married, they didn't want to make them sound too young. Watching other people's comic dubs - not that they're doing a bad job, mind you, it has more to do with personal feelings than anything - it kinda disturbed us hearing a kid voice talk about that to someone who's voice had developed when it came to scenes like that.
So, that's why they went with me in the end.
I get it though. Before all this and had it been me casting Aang last year, I would've gotten someone younger. Not necessarily ULTRA young, but more like a Scott Menville or Greg Cipes than a Yuri Lowenthal. Around that ballpark. But I'm happy that they went with me.
I'd love to voice Adult Aang though. But I doubt I'll ever get the chance to, considering they're movies. hahahaha I'm too low in the totem pole to audition for that. For all I know, they probably got their Adult Aang already.
I spit my drink out at "Ash makers"
How did we get ATLA slurs before GTA 6
They’ve got “snow savages” and “dirt people” too! Wild…

Why did zuko sound GENUILY SCARED during the promise part
This is such an awesome project. Im so happy a team of dedicated fans went through all the trouble of voice acting and animating and sound mixing the continuation of ATLA. This is what we needed before Legend of Korra. Thank you to the entire Book 4: Air (Restoration Project) team and all you've provided us fans :)
better than a expensive as hell live action and made with 10x more love and passion and understanding of the original world/characters/arcs/comedy
I'm convinced the people behind the Netflix show have love and passion for the source material. But they also have a budget, and they're doing it in live action. It _can't_ be as good as an anime original if their budget was ten times larger.
There's a group of fans that think Avatar "got good" in Season 2 when characters started being more complicated and "the goofy kid stuff" was less there. We all take from ATLA what we want … I think the showrunners are in that camp, though. And I'm not sure they understood the Spirit World at all. But their heart is in the right place-and their portrayal of life in the Fire Nation for Zuko and Azula was worth the price of admission.
@@knghtbrd Season 1 of ATLA is way better than people using mere memory from 10 years ago give credit to, and the Live Action has one giant budged for each episode, but even tho it doesn't translate well to live action (therefore it shouldn't have been made) people are judging the shitty writting quality, exagerated exposition, it seems way less mature that the original, and treat the audience like fucking dumb puppets, sometimes is pretty, sometimes the wide-shots are cool, but the same can be said to rings of power, and LOTR fans didn't cave as much as the Avatar fans, we are to complacent on consuming garbage, not only in midia but in real life aswell

People like Zuko never go bad. The simplicity of their heart always generates brokenness.
Amazing, I read the comic a while back and you did it justice. While the first time I heard the voices I got a bit thrown off by the different voices, it didn't detract after that. Everyone sounded like an alternate voice actor for the character. Editing was great too. Nice transitions and animated stills like Appa flying.
THE VA FOR OZAI IS JUST 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
The way Zuko and sokka was vouce acted was GOLD,and aang and kataras voices were alright, but their personalitys, perfect

yeah! they got Katara's personality right even if the voice didn't resemble. I loved Ozai's too, it gave me chills. Aang threw me a little ofguard 😭
I love sokka’s voice when he’s screaming “hey guys, AHH!!”
Need this adapted in animation not by Netflix, but by the original creators in their new studio!!!
We’d animate it if we had the money!
Looking forward to Avatar Studios and hoping for the best!
Angs voice actor sounding a bit like the gal in the recounting fire nation propaganda play, just sorta is hilarious.
Hey, like Toph said! That was a reflection of the truth! 😂
The ending perfectly captured the way certain episodes would end just like the show, and made me want more. 10/10
While I find Aang's voice to be a bit jarring (no disrespect to the VA, just didn't expect Aang to sound like that), this was fantastic!!
Zuko looks like he aged 15 years, Its hilarious its been like less than 5 years since the events of Sozens comic. ( In story of course )
Goes to show how much one ages while under stress. I mean, look at Abraham Lincoln before and after his term as President.
I love how it seems Aang is making is own way as an avatar. Through out the show he relied heavily on what passed Avatar's advised him too. He's making his way. So cool to see the development.

Ho-Ly-Crap everyone did AANGMAZINGLY! Proud to be a part of the team and super excited for everything going forward. You are all so inspiring.
This is legit a perfect continuation to the show. A wonderful and amazing blend of nostalgia and new. Hats off to everyone.
You can just substitute the work 'Kill' and 'Killing' for 'End' and 'Ending'. The bold makes it absolutely clear that was the intent, but the property being content-locked at YA-12 made it impossible.
Ozai’s voice actor is spot on
Thank you! That’s Jakob Dillon as Ozai. All his Mark Hamil voices are so good!
Incredible performance, big fan of the project, keep up the great work!
I literally had my jaw all over the floor, after finding this dubbed comic version of yours. So many voiceactors and different effects! Thank you.
Holy shit this is just insanely well done! The sound effects, the voice actors. It's just abundantly clear a ton of love and effort went in here and I need it to be known how much I appreciate it as someone who's wanted to read these but is too lazy to read just know you've made this far more immersive to me. Thank you kindly ❤
I didn't read the comics, so I don't really know how this plays out, but my first thought is "Aang should let Zuko talk to Roku".
This nationalism thing gives Ozai too many options to manipulate Zuko just like it happens in our world, but Roku knows how to deal with it (at least better than Aang or Ozai do).
A
Sweetie. What a cringe moment to me just like Toph.🤣 I don't know but Aang and Katara relationship isn't fit up each other.
Sokka: "First of all, you are supposed to knock when you go INSIDE a building!"
Honestly, Sokka was kinda right.
The curse of being Sokka. He’s often right but he’s kinda rude about it. 😂
I was so hooked through the entire episode, you guys did an amazing job with the voice acting, editing and music. Everything was perfect 😭
The Aang voice actor reminds of the girl who played aang in the episode where they go to that play in book 3
a new racial sler for fire benders ash makers
I love how Aang couldn't end Ozai because it "goes against the monks' teachings" but he was literally almost about to kill Zuko just because he tried to restrain his girlfriend. This goes to show that Aang is 100% simp
Frrrr😅
Aang gotta be the biggest simp ever bro.
zuko really ruined the whole vibe while they were on appa like damn you couldn’t have waited until we landed 😭😭😭 but this is sooo good!!
Aang agreeing to anything just to shut him up before he kills the whole mood! 😭
Our boy not only has trauma, but is now in a position of governance. Meaning he is being hit with that trauma in the face every single day.
Okay I know some people disagree, but I love how cringy Katara and Aang are. It is so realistic. The stupid pet names and such.

Thank you! That’s Grant Corvin as Sokka. Believe it or not, he also did Sokka’s singing voice for episode 2!
the voice acting for this is SO GOOD it really captures the emotions of the scenes and thank you for making these comics accessible
I like this, but one point you really did wrong:
Zuko stopped grunting, after he learned the other way of fire bending. This is very important. because it is part of his character development
It’s true! We were trying to show that he is spiraling.
I like the part when everyone cant say kill bc its a cartoon show😂😂
If I had to name a fourth ATLA season based on the comics, I would call it Peace.
Edit: also, now we know where Tenzin’s bison got his name. From Sokka.
This is great! Your voice actors did great at sounding like the original too, props to that. Okay, you kinda made Aang sound more like his actress/impersonator in Ember Island Theatre, and later like... idk, Sokka maybe? - but imitation is hard, I'm sure they tried their best.
It really makes it more comprehensible than the thing the official yt channel has, narrated by that single lady with random recycled voicelines from the already existing original series.
I guess if this is as close as we ever get to s4, this'll scratch an itch. lol
I'd take season 4 avatar or team avatar grown up over anything live action anyday
wow, this project is amazing. I read the comics, but this is next level. you can be proud!
Always wished there was a book 4 Air in the original series. instead we got a book called air in korrra
So well done!
Brilliant work and it's very much appreciated. Katara and Sokka's voices are spot on and did very well.
If I can make some suggestions though: Aangs voices seems strained and hesitant. While Aangs facial expressions and actions are often hesitant, his voice rarely is. He has no raspyness nor does he over resonate and trap his sound inside his throat. It's always brave and carefree and only undertones by the stronger emotions.
With Zuko, the tone is great, but he lacks Zukos passion in the delivery. Especially the scene asking Aang to promise. That was not a moment of self pity and wallowing like it sounded, but one of clarity, passion, fear, and earnestness.
Additionally, when he first confronts the intruder on his ship, he just sounds sullen and defeated. While this would have been appropriate to an early and short-lived version of Zuko, that is not his default tone or what he tends to project. He always has been good at projecting confidence, even when he isn't, as that is what his upbringing for leadership ingrained in him. His insomnia would give a more overt window into his actual feelings and aggravate his weaknesses, so an argument could be made here for that interpretation. So I'll leave it as a personal preference that the sullen take seems right, but is missing the parts of him we've seen develop in his character arch along side it. This makes it seem almost like subtly retconning a large part of his character arch we are looking to see reflected in the following content.
I appreciate the time you took to give this well thought out feed back! As one of the voice directors, I can shed some light as to why we made the choices we did.
For Aang: Boy voices sometimes take on a husky quality while changing. In the original you can even hear this happening with Aang’s VA. He starts out clear voiced and gets most scratchy and froggy by the end of the series. Our VA made the choice she did to bridge the gap (and the speech patterns) between OG Aang and the new VA playing him after the time skip. This is why Aang’s laughter in the opening sounds totally different and more light, as we were imitating the opening for that one.
For Zuko, the shaky voice was meant to show the beginnings of Zuko’s instability and self doubt. He’s sullen in the scene before he talks to Aang. As resolute as his words are, he himself is not certain, and as he will later admit to Aang by the end of the story, this was him making the cowardly choice. The choked up, unsteady quality is something that Ozai inspires in him, filling him with self doubt and the fear of becoming his father, as well as his own anxiety over the huge task that’s been presented to him.
You hit the nail on the head about the insomnia! Zuko isn’t at his strongest right now. He does get stronger voiced and more like the show in other parts of the story (and especially in the episode 4 flashbacks). I hope you will enjoy those and I would love to hear your opinion!
Thank you for your feedback. 💖
@@lucialobosvilla This is a brilliant explanation of the intense thought and love for the franchise that went into your decisions.
