Pope says Palestinians suffer 'inhumane attacks', condemns weapons investments | ABS-CBN News

Pope Francis on Wednesday (October 23) prayed for peace saying that Palestinians are suffering 'inhumane attacks'.
Speaking during his weekly General Audience in St. Peter's Square the pontiff also condemned weapons sales adding data of victims of Ukraine war are 'terrible'.
"There is one figure, brothers and sisters, that must frighten us," he said. "The most profitable investments today are in arms factories, making money with death".
Israel's campaign against Hamas and Hezbollah in Gaza and Lebanon, triggered by the Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas that killed some 1,200 people and saw 251 taken as hostages, has killed more than 42,000 Palestinians in Gaza, devastated the enclave and forced most of its population out of their homes into temporary shelters. It will require a major international effort to rebuild.
On Wednesday (October 23) Israel carried heavy airstrikes on the large historic Lebanese port city of Tyre.
