  • It's here! I flew on the British Airways A350 Club Suite to see what it's really like. It's the most hyped product British Airways have released in years, and is a flight I've been looking forward to for months. But is the British Airways A350 Club Suite all it's hyped up to be? Here's my honest review.
Check out my written report of this flight with more photos: www.inflightvideo.tv/british-...

@@PortugalHolidayVillas Same here. Sam Chui is a fraud being bank rolled by the airlines and given tons of free stuff in return for positive reviews. As a frequent BA passenger (I have gold status myself) I feel that BA has mistake by selling out in such a blatent and obvious way. More genuine, honest reviews are much better. If the product and service really is good then it will speak for itself.

Having now done the trip I have to say that I loved the new seat. I agree it is not the most capacious of Business Class seats but I found it more than adequate for my average size. The suite door would, I feel, come into its own when trying to sleep on a red-eye flight as it provides a barrier between yourself and the cabin crew walking up and down the aisle. This is one of the things that prevents me from sleeping well on flat bed seats. Some might find it claustrophobic, others will enjoy having their own private little cocoon I guess. As for the design, I didn't find it cheap and I actually prefer it to some of the other airlines' offerings as it isn't trying to be ostentatious. Whether it stands up to wear and tear remains to be seen of course. The suite door already has reliability problems - it took a bit of work by a couple of cabin crew members to lock mine open before landing. There may well be better seats out there but BA are back in the game as far as I'm concerned.

Great report as always. I recall flying the Q suite when it first launched and I had to be moved as the door to my suite wouldn’t work and the crew confirmed they were having a lot of issues so perhaps it’s not just BA. Let’s be fair this is a much better suite than their current Club World and I have found the service on BA of late absolutely excellent. Let,s see how things go, as with any new product I’m sure they will be collating all feedback good and bad to ensure any needed improvements are implemented.

    • @MegaHariboboy
      @MegaHariboboy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I was going to say - they are clearly influenced by just how popular and respected the Q Suite is. Noel however does seem to be stuck with the whole nostalgia for the old BA business class - where you have to stare your neighbour in the face during takeoff and landing - simply because it was 'revolutionary' when it came out, yet it is incredibly outdated.

I’m flying a BA 350-1000 in business class from Toronto this October. The seat looks like an improvement but they charged me for seat selection. I don’t fly in business class often but out of about 10 airlines, BA is the only one that did this. Seat selection doesn’t really cost the airline anything so I told them how corny I found that when you’re already paying a business class fare. I look forward to trying the new seat, though.

To me, the view across the cabin looks like a call centre, with each person occupying their cubbyhole selling PPI insurance! It seems as though BA have done their usual and crammed in as many units as they can. Allowing just a few more inches of design space for each one would have been beneficial for the passenger, along with a slightly wider aisle - but hey, profits must come before comfort!
However, I think that the A350 itself is a wonderful aircraft. I flew on a Finnair A350 from Helsinki to Bangkok in 2017, and although I was flying economy, it was one of the quietest and most comfortable flights I've ever made.

Absolutely agree - and yes it's such a shame. The A350 is a lovely aircraft to fly on, and if only BA had taken a little more care in creating a premium cabin that actually feels premium, rather than trying to do it on the cheap, it would have been fantastic.

Oh wow. This is so helpful! I wanted to book flights to Toronto in the sale and was really upset that they seem to be taking it off that route from the spring. Now it's more that it would be nicer to have it, but I'm not going to fret too much. It's not the perfect product.

You keep saying how parts are really thin.... But the aircraft needs to be light to fly! The heavier the aircraft the more fuel it needs... But the A350 is a very fuel efficient aircraft. It might seem cheap and tacky but everything has a purpose somewhere :D

That grid thing was a bit ridiculously flimsy. At least put in some support plastic so it doesn't do that. Because that's going to be broke in no time.

People like to diss on US carriers for being money grabbers but I’ve seen more and more videos of European airlines charging like the US carriers.
Happy you videoed this. Nicely done. My biggest issue with Sam Chris is he thinks everyone can afford to pay billions for top product when in reality most of us can’t. You show amazing reviews. I loved your Wilderoe series of trips so much. Huge like from a US based avgeek.

Thanks for giving me a heads up with your height, at 6'6" knowing how you fly gives me a better idea about what it will be like for me.
It also helps to explain why I say that I "dont fit" in some business class seats on some airlines. It allows me to "justify" flying in the Etihad A380 Apartments for my flights.
    Thanks for the "real" reviews

Fair play I've watched the other reviews so far and this was by far the best. The club suite looks definitely and improvment but I don't think it'll ever compete with the likes of Qatar or Emirates

Well done. Truly well done Noel. It’s rare to see such objective and honest reviews and this shows how far behind the best airlines BA have fallen. The product is an improvement of course but it’s the little things that make a difference and from what you experienced, the cost cutting shows.

Interesting comment about the quality of the plastics. I suspect Qantas have done a similar thing with their current newish business seat in the A330s and 787s and I doubt they'll hold together well. I'd also tend to agree about the doors being unnecessary as the privacy is already pretty good and it just makes everything seem more enclosed (and coffin-like).

Nothing beats a RR engine spooling up !! Not mention taking off !! I have the impression that BA have too many people having a say in what their Business Class should look like ? The British ( and don't take this the wrong way ) have a penchant for making decisions in 6 months which most other nations could do in a month. Qantas Business is a good example on many of their aircraft ! Breakfast looked pretty good ! I do like the Captain (or one of them) at the door as you leave !! BA are cost cutting in many areas and yet have a great reputation....but have a look at Etihad and see how far they have fallen in terms of food and service across ALL classes of service ! Well done Noel and I look forward to our next flight together!

Another superb video Noel, I have just watched your trips on the Virgin A350-1000 and I have compared it with this trip to Madrid on the BA Airbus 350-1000, It looks like BA have gone cheap, and Virgin have made to right choices. many have said that BA have lost the plot over recent years, and this is not helping them.

My concern is the amount of rows, because in my experience lots of rows means a poor Business Class service. Nice to have your honest review, I am sure in a few months BA customers will decide whether to give the seat a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

Is it just me that used to like BA’s ‘ying yang’ seats?
I always thought they were cool, and unique, and I would’ve much preferred they made the ying yang seats into all isle access.
This video opened my eyes about these seats, thank you for such an honest review!

Absolutely gorgeous plane, base model with no extras whatsoever fitted out for lowest possible cost by BA. It won't look so shiny in a years time, especially with their current no effective cleaning of longhaul cabins strategy. Given the existing issues with BA's; pricing, reliability, ability to load enough catering, catering quality and hostile customer services, I would always choose to #flyabba where there's a choice.
So, won't be booking BA unless forced to, even if the alternatives are superficially a few pounds more costly because the reality when you've paid the surcharges for seat choice, some snacks in case they "forgot" to load enough food, etc and the additional costs when things go wrong BA are in fact more expensive than the vast majority of the alternatives.

Re the sleeping position, I’m 6ft 1in and I have the exact same issue with Aer Lingus A330, I like to sleep on my side and can’t do so in the business cabin, I haven’t got enough space for my knees to move
