I can play this but not as good as her! I like her waltz-feeling! Shes so into the music not the audience or anything. And the rest of the orchestra did a wonderful job I love it! Because I know how you feel when you play with an orchestra!!! Its cool and I am doing it again in June!
I happened to play this piece at Preston-Bradly hall in Chicago. Godard meant for all three movements to be graceful and elegant. I attempted to emulate Paula and he didn't like it. I like her interpretation, but have learned to play it more gracefully, as Godard wanted it.
This is a hard piece. I can do the 1st 2 movements and am starting to work on this one. I love Godard's flute pieces. She's very good but I have trouble with the billy goat vibrato. I know Moyse had a very similar vibrato and I'm wondering if Godard did too. It was popular century ago. She also has a very powerful tone but I think this piece can be done with much more finesse. After all it is a waltz not a march. You should skip through this piece not stomp through it.
This performance tops any others I've heard of this piece - I think I'm i love ! what a preformer - what a sound - wow !!!
Always one of my favorite flutists. Think how young she was she played this difficult "Valse".
This is just wonderful!! Bravo!
wow, her playing is very beautiful, elegant and stylish.
FANTASIC VIBRATO!
Exactly!!
I'll give her 5 stars!!
