Thanks for the insight. We are getting ready for the Fall Fishing season here in the Northeast Coast in the US and I look forward to trying poppers in the surf.
Thank you for an informative video. I hope you won't mind if I ask a silly question please. I am a keen FLATHEAD and King George Whiting fisherman. I know that FLATTIES are a bottom dweller. Will a popper work with Flathead, and will a small popper snare KGW. Thank you kindly
Poppers, the most fun that can be had with a rod in your hand. The design looks good but I agree with another respondent - the weight of each lure model should be included. These poppers aren’t all that different from Gibbs & similar U.S. models that I’ve used since the 1970s. I would still consider purchasing one of these.
your instructional video was great .I stay in India I want to know how to use the roosta 135 on barra? what kind of retrive is best suitable the place where i fish has tone of mullets
Just curious.....he is using the standard reel setup for right handers in the US. What, in fact, is his dominant hand? Why do most Aussies use the left handed setup even when right handed. It seems odd to us US fisherman, as the handle is on the left if you are right handed, as setting it up this way allows for dominant hand casting, setting the hook, and the delicate placement of the line on the right index finger for casting. Video is great, by the way. Enjoyed it.
I’m not really sure as I am Aussie, right handed and fish like a left hander (I reel in with my right hand) but most of my friends are right handed and use the reel in the left, I’m pretty sure it’s either more comfortable. I’m not really sure but I’ll tell my mates
Hi mate, the theory is dominant hand on rod, and other hand to reel. Dominant hand can control the rod better for casting especially. Also there is no time lag switching hands after casting, in case a fish strikes as soon as bait hits the water. Personally I think whatever you are most comfortable doing is the way to go. I'm right-handed and cast right-handed, but change to my left hand to hold rod. I prefer my right hand to reel as my left hand feels awkward, and certainly not as fast. Try shaking a bottle of sauce, it's the dominant hand that goes quicker with more control, just like pleasuring yourself, lol.
For those of you who are asking what rod he is using for popping for so many years, he is using St. Croix Surf Rods. The most popular for plugging or popping is the Mojo Surf Spinning Rod 10ft 1-4 oz. Your welcome.
Beauty of a video. Surprised this is the first time I'm watching it

This is a great popper that I am yet to use
Popper is a top water lure, which is made of timber or material that would float. Jigging is for bottom fishing, made of led, or hard material.
