Good lesson, I like the jigs, that’s helpful. One addition, just before drilling use an awl to make a small divot on the pencil mark, then put the tip of the drill bit in the divot, then drill your hole. This way the drill bit won’t wander on the surface of the door. Oh the frustration of doing everything right, getting your marks perfect, only to have the drill bit wander and the hole is slightly off. And slightly off is off in this kind of finish work.
Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
Cabinet company sold me cabinets installed for $8k. Not a bad deal including quarts counter, etc. But handles and knob are not included. Cost was $500 per kitchen and I have 4 kitchens. Will be doing this myself. Looks straightforward.

The drill bitt should be about the same size as the screw in width so that the handle doesn't end up being so wobbly. Im glad i listened to my wife before doing that.
Don't spin the knob to tighten, turn the screw. Most drawer pulls are not precision machined and the variations on the knob will mar the surface of the cabinet so when they replace the knob in the future it might show damage.
1- Align all panel first. 2- Install 2 knobs with double sided tape and watch the look. 3- Tape all unused holes in the jig with masking tape. Counting the holes starting the wrong side will made a disaster.
someone mentioned splintering of the cabinet.... IS this an issue? It looks pretty straightforward to me... I have the template and the hardware... someone said that the doors can splinter so use a smaller bit and then work up to a larger bit..
Can you please tell where can I find those cabinets (& style)? I just moved and have those exact (base cabinets) with the exact hardware. :-) I have 40 year old wall cabinetry that doesn't match. Please help! Thanks
Oh, I TOTALLY agree. If I didn't show it, I apologize. I use my little circuit tester on everything... multiple times during the same job. I'm pretty paranoid about that.
Why do some cabinet displays I’ve seen have these knobs placed closer to the top edge of the cabinet doors than others? For instance on this video they are being installed higher towards the horizontal edge of the door. Other guys installed an inch further down. Personal preference?
Yeah, I think it's just personal preference. I haven't seen any exact standards for cabinet knob placement. It may also be dependent on how big the cabinet knob is and even what shape it is. None of the standard templates/jigs I've seen for cabinet knobs have an "exact standard" spacing guide. They always offer a variety of options. As long as you're consistent with the spacing on all the cabinets that are grouped together you should be good. Good luck!
Those plastic jigs with a million holes in them are junk and you are just asking for problems. I highly recommend the True Position Hardware Jig. Yes, it's expensive, but it's still cheaper than replacing cabinets because you screwed up your holes on half of them.
I think he said that the drill bit should be a little bit bigger than the screw threads. That is wrong. The threads should extend out a little bit beyond the drill bit diameter so that they can dig into the wood a little and do their job. If the drill bit were bigger, the screw wouldn't ever tighten up as you screwed it into the wood.

Using the template makes this whole this *almost* foolproof as long as you actually drill the hole where you mark it. This was done quite a while ago and I think I may have ended up pushing the door down with all my fiddling during filming. You can almost always adjust a cabinet door's alignment (Instructions here: th-cam.com/video/nPoN9h10YDY/w-d-xo.html ) if you have this problem.
