Madcatz that did the TE and TE2 no longer exists, this is a company that bought the rights to use the Madcats name. At this price point without native support for PS5(requiring a controller to bridge) and cheap looking plastic housing) its a poor option. They also rebranded the game sir calling it the MC ego but charged more because of the name. At $300 dollars there are other high end sticks and custom builds available which are better options.
So for $300, it has no native PS5 support and a need to pair controllers for PS4 and Xbox with that bridge workaround? That's disappointing to spend that kind of cash and then buy a $50 Wingman on top of that if you don't want to juggle controllers. You're getting into the realm of premium sticks and custom builds at that money, and I just don't see how this contends in that category. MC needs to rein it in and compete at a price point closer to half of that to succeed with this stick in this generation imo.

Hey, Hush what up!! I agree. However I did buy the TE3 at a lower price and currently doing an extensive but clean dual mod using a Brook WirelessFightingBoard. Big money for sure $$$. Definitely will post on reddit when complete

You can't fire an entire company... out of a cannon atleast.
Its crazy that a $300 fightstick requires you a controller or buy an additional attachment or buy a brooks board just to play on modern consoles... buy something else or build yourself one instead of this one
It’s all about the quality of the parts and the design to make it easily customizable.
Yes, you could probably build one yourself but it’s going to take time.
Even if you manage to buy the low production shell and get the parts needed, most cases don’t have the one button design.
But like almost anything in life… yes if you diy you can probably save money.

The spacing between the lever and the buttons is welcome for me. One of my favorite layouts is on the Agetec/SEGA Dreamcast stick as the lever and buttons are way further apart compared to modern sticks.

yea most recent sticks have the stick and buttons all cramped together it always felt unantural to me this is why the dreamcast agetec stick is so damn comfortable, that is just my personal take though.

$300 for a stick where every possible design shortcut was taken is offensive. This is a sign the New MadCatz will attempt to ride old name power to make an easy dollar.
Seriously, spend $100 less for a PS5 compatible, more portable stick. There are even significantly cheaper options for a Stick / Brook Converter combination like is required here.

The TE3 has a LOT of critical reviews and you don't really go over any of the negatives for it outside of compatibility. I understand this isn't a "review," but it doesn't really feel honest for you to gush about this thing for 8 minutes while not being critical of the product. If these are the kinds of deals you're going to make with sponsors, I'll look elsewhere for my product recommendations from now on. Positivity is great, but you need to keep it real with us.
Nihongogamer will clearly do anything for some cash, even promote crap like this. It's good to see someone call him out for his lack of scruples.😊

I'm surprised NG agreed to the madcats one. Its not the same people. Charging 300 for a stick that needs an adapter or another controller to work with current gen lol for way less you get real brands and native use.

New MadCatz is just Chinese MadCatz as previous American MadCatz was going into Bankruptcy from all the Guitar Hero stuff they were producing for a failed resurgence of the game. TE3 is evidence of a lazy design because it looks like a drill box lol. Qanba does it better with licensed products though their recent princes for PS5 lineup of arcade sticks are a little overpriced IMO, Hori is probably the only brand out there with a properly priced PS5 Arcade Stick. I absolutely love Brook Accessory, they're the Taiwanese mad scientists producing all these awesome PCBs and Converters.

This stick sucks and is overpriced for a product that only uses passthrough. Mayflashes will do the exact same thing for cheaper
I absolutely love my MC Fightstick TE but who tf though it would be a good idea to release a 300 euros stick not compatible with this gen? The Hori and the Daija are ps5 compatible and even cheaper.
300 dollar for the low quality of plastic parts and the design to make button panel and button swaps not easily customizable. This is the worst stick Ive since in recent years. Go get a Qanba or Hori instead.
I just found out the TE3 exists today through this video! This looks great but I just purchased the Nacon Daija a few days ago.
Sill have my original TE stick from SF4 back in PS3, that's heirloom material.
The T.E 3 is such a disappointment. Alone the thought that you need to ether have another controler with you or go out of your way to buy an additional converter is such a back in the sticks concept. Make it at least native ps4/5 compatible. For the same amount of money you can easily buy the parts and case for an custom stick that is ps5 compatible or buy an cheaper option and just buy the brook converter. It's so sad to see how MC makes their products. I loved the T.E 1 and 2+. Were my first fighting sticks ever. So when I got the news that the T.E3 was in the making I was so excited. But all that flew out of the window.

I saw this stick when i went to japan. Its not worth 300 dollars the plastic look cheap , also its too light for a fight stick, Then no ps5 compatibility. If madcatz will collab with brook that would be awesome

The Brook adapter solve the issue, but it is really disappointing 300k and missing native support to PS5. Hori Alpha still the best choice for now.

The issue is hot-swapping controllers. Some games handle it okay, others don't.
Also using a raphnet adapter means the tournament grinds to a halt while the TO opens up Steam Big Picture Mode to set it up lmao

I still don't understand how to be able to program a Playstation controller for other things.i cannot comprehend how even the Brook universal board works. I wish I knew how these work and we're made because I want to make these from the ground up
Let's get real: This is not the same Mad Catz. They just own the name. They thought they could get away by selling a controller with needs to be daisy chained with a controller connected to a console to work.
I am disappointed with this video, though. I get you're sponsored and it is a job that pays the bill. You said it's not a review but made it sound like one. I chuckled when you said that while saying "...while I hope it is not a big deal....". It is. $300 for something that doesn't with a console when connected directly- LMAO! You're paying a lot for that controller just to be daisy-chained with a controller to work with a console. I wonder what is the latency difference between daisy-chained with XBone/PS5 controller Vs using a Wingman. And besides, I noticed that you compared it with another controller which flexes (TE2?) as you should but you never really mentioned which controller that was, how much it costs and does it require daisy-chaining?
If this was a review no sane person would recommend this, let alone come with a guide to pay $300 for a controller and then spend another on a Wingman to make a direct connection. That's just weird. I would have rejected the sponsorship and thought nothing of it. I now get why some people passionately diss TE3.
It's all the funnier since the TE2+ still works without an adapter on Street 6 PS5!!!! 😅

I still use my original MAS with HAPP Perfect 360 joystick. Its the best I have ever used. I'll still get the TE3 for new consoles.

Did you feel during play, there was any difference in lag or reaction after button input? Is this just as viable and fast as any other sticks out there?
I think some other channels have posts lag tests. I didn’t feel any noticeable lag but every controller has vary performance in that area.

This one is a bit too chunky for me. They should have just improved on the TE2 design and compatibility with current-gen devices.
This isn't the same MadCatz that made the TE2, it's a Chinese company that bought the name. Also, said company lost the rights to use the TE2 molds. IIRC PXN has them, and the X9 Arcade Stick uses that shell.

It's no longer Madcatz, it's a Chinese company that bought the name and resells low-end gear using the name to pretend it's premium gear and using influencers for product placement like in this video....😉

Sure the Brook Wingman FGC solves a lot of compatibility problems, but IMHO that should be used for self-build arcade sticks. Big arcade stick brands should get their sticks officially licensed by Sony. Period. I find it disgusting HitBox is still "working" (over a year now!) on native PS5 support and now offers Brook hardware as a solution/option instead of getting it officially licensed by Sony.
What's the point when you have old generation quality sticks to buy a new one when you can use a wingman other than wasting your money? In addition, the latest sticks released are of poor quality and much more expensive than the older generations.
Does the Brook wing man work on the Mad catz ego? Cause they have that weird pcb with the sync functions to play ps4/xbox
The brook converters will bring anything up to the current standard I believe. You could plug a 360 controller into it and it would work on a PS5.

Sadly I don’t have an Xbox and very few Xbox sticks exist in Japan. I’ve reviewed a few pad controllers but none that were especially aimed at fighting games

Without next-gen support this is a massive rip off. $200 gets you the Hori Alpha and $150ish can get you a Mayflash Elite and Magic-S Ultimate to work on any platform.
with me i've tried to use arcade sticks but the standard layout feels too condensed, plus i have long spindly fingers struggle to not cramp while using stuff like the mayflash f500 stick i've wanted to try alternative controllers for fighting games but it feels kind of hard to find one that's comfortable to use
pads are always viable no matter what some people like to say. you could also maybe build/buy a custom stick with a wider build, but that’s the more expensive option.

Value for money is definitely a good point since other brands are offering more affordable alternatives with tonnes of features.

Can anyone confirm if the Xbox Mad Catz TE2 arcade stick is compatible with SF6 on the XBSX?
You need a converter to use 360 sticks on X1 or newer consoles
@@Orochi_001 my twins are the Killer Instinct TE2 for the XB1. They are literally plug and play and work fantastic for SF6 (except in world tour mode, they suck for adventuring, i just switch from game pad to stick when I fight) 🕹

I’ve been using an Atrox with a Crown Infiltration lever lately, but this discussion has motivated me to unbox and use my OG Tournament Edition stick. I have an octogate and heavy-duty spring on that one to give it a little bit of a western feel. The Brook converters work beautifully.
@@Orochi_001 excellent setup. I swapped my main stick with Japanese Sanwa from an old arcade setup I had, also octagonal gate and 6 LB spring. Went with true Seimitsu backlit white buttons (just 6, the 2 on the end are blacked out) and swapped the artwork to Street Fighter (Chun Li) theme. Looks sharp. The second player TE2 is left stock but I'm heavily considering a more professional setup for the upcoming MK1. Let me know what you recommend as far as current setups/swaps go. I'd love to try new things. :)

For this price I would expect PS5 support out of the box. And why isn't every fight stick wireless? I know most FG players prefer wired but no one says you have to use the wireless function and for the rest of us that are more than 3 metres from their PC or console, wireless is essential.
Wireless adds input lag, something every serious gamer wants to avoid
@@Lolo.13 Obviously. Everyone knows that. But it is a fraction of a fraction of a frame and as I said above, more than 3 metres away from the PC or console... wireless = essential.
The omission of wireless is just cost cutting. It doesn't make the product worse, it makes it better and at these prices it should be standard.

@Lolo.13 in addition, unless your stick has a dedicated dongle, connecting the stick to console can lead to all sorts of shenanigans like someone not being unpaired and pressing the Home button in the middle of someone's set.
Yes this has happened before in several tournaments and is a big reason why wireless is only allowed with a dedicated dongle
Wireless adds weight, cost, and charging issues and sooner or later someone will screw up and forget to turn it off at a tournament and get sanctioned for a wireless controller.
I can't find this new stick on Amazon yet.
