I'm curious if you've had to do any carburetor repairs yet. I just acquired a 70s 530 and I've had a heck of a time trying to find a carb kit, linkage parts, bushings. Mine has almost 5000 hours showing so linkage and pivoting parts are a little sloppy.
Very hard to find info out there on these and I just happened upon your channel tonight. Thanks for the content!

I rebuilt my carb shortly after I got my 530, but I don't remember where I got my kit. Just search for "Kohler 528 carburetor" and you'll get a lot of hits for rebuild kits and cheap replacement carbs.

Yep, have done. None of the kits I have found include the parts I need, so I guess I have to replace the whole thing.
I've called kohler and other carburator parts suppliers and, when I give them the ID numbers, no one has any record of the carb or the parts that fit it.

@gannonolson6294 It seems like none of the kits, even on more common carbs, come with new bushings. I don't know why because they wouldn't add much cost to include them. Fortunately, the new replacement carbs are pretty cheap. Good luck on your repair.

Nice job - any guess on next part to fail?

I could guess lift cylinder, but that would be cheating. I noticed it started leaking while I was moving snow after last week's blizzard. I already ordered seal kits for both lift cylinders today. I'm learning so much about hydraulics on this machine. But it's not unexpected given its age.

I have the exact same bobcat, Can you please answer a few questions? 1. I have the same leak with those o-rings you had to change in the previous video, do you think that pump could come out from under the seat, instead of removing the motor. Second question on the rear door seems to be a coolant reservoir, where do you add coolant if any?

Cool. If you're like me, I'm sure you'll find 1001 uses for your bobcat. You could probably get your pump out from under the seat, but you'll have to remove all of the hydraulic lines and linkage. Either way, it's a fair bit of work whether you pull the engine or just the pump. If you have a Bobcat 530 and your engine is stock (Kohler K582), it is air cooled, so you wouldn't have a radiator or coolant. What you're probably seeing on the rear door is the hydraulic oil cooler.

@@TheToolmanTim Thanks for the reply; Yea I have a clark bobcat 530 exactly like yours same kohler engine. I cant seem to find much info out their about them so any repair videos or maintenance vids will be awesome. Subbed. And again thaks for the info I'll probably just pull the engine, that way I can clean everything and check hoses better.

hi, couuld you help identify the part at th-cam.com/video/Kf3kLIvYBOw/w-d-xo.html time 8:27, on the right side, there is a smaller black rubber hose that is going into the carburetor , is that the fuel pump? trying to help my friend figure out why it keeps shutting down after a few seconds. looking to find out where the fuel pump is. thank you.

You are looking at the oil breather tube. It routes crank case fumes back into the carb to be burned. If you have a 530, there is no fuel pump. It is gravity fed. You can easily follow the fuel line from the tank outlet found on the left side of the tank, to a fuel filter, then to the electric fuel shutoff and finally to the carb. Pull the fuel line off the carb and turn the key to the run position. If fuel flows you probably have a partially stuck float valve. Otherwise, you may have a restriction somewhere in your fuel line. I once had my electronic shutoff fail. I temporarily ran a small lawn mower tank directly to the carb to get my Bobcat running so I could get it back to my garage. Good luck.

@@TheToolmanTim thank you so much for that info. Yes it is a 530, no wonder why I could not find any fuel pump! We pulled the fuel line off the carb and opened the fuel line from the little knob/valve under the tank outlet on the left and fuel was gushing out. So we thought it could be a gunked up carb or a fuel pump. Now that we know there is no fuel pump, do you think it could be the carb itself and needs to be rebuilt / replaced? If we pour carb fluid in the carb itself and turn the key, it starts and eats up the gas that was poured in after a few seconds. When we connect fuel line, does not start, just turns and turns. Again thank you for your help.

@@bztokyo7270 Gotta be that carb. I'd pull it off and give it a good cleaning. If it still gives you trouble, go for a rebuild. And after that be sure to use fuel without ethanol. That stuff is the worst especially on older equipment.
