    I will try this. I like how you give instructions at a slow pace. ❤

    My stitching tends to be pretty tight, so when I rolled my flower the same way as it's done in the video, it didn't look very nice, or at least nowhere near as nice as in the video. I played with it quite a bit, but there was no way I'd be able to make it look pretty. Then I decided to roll it in the other direction (the right side in the video became the wrong side or the underside of the flower in my case), and the flower ended up being super beautiful! It looks quite a bit different, but it's equally lovely :) I just thought I'd share my experience in case someone here finds it helpful :) Thank you so much for this lovely, easy to follow tutorial :)

      I think in the video she says to use a 4mm hook, but I have the same hooks and she's using the 5mm hook. Using the 5mm hook might help with your tension.

      @@airnjac8716 Ah that's interesting, thank you for that! I knowingly used a smaller hook than recommended, simply because it's my preference. I really love how the flower turned out in the video though, so even though I'm really happy with the one I made, I'm going to make another one with a larger hook just to see what happens 👍🙂

    I love this pattern ! It makes me think of a Gardenia flower with it being white and having so many petals on it. I hope I can make enough of them for putting on an afghan if I can't work - out a square on each flower pattern after making them. I think this flower would make such a pretty afghan. 🥰

Very nicely done! I’ll be sure to look at other videos!! 100% subscribed!

      @@elizabethmurie3077 I'm just a beginner, would you mind explaining what all this means.
      I followed along and made 3 different roses with 3 different sized hooks and 2 different kinds of yarn.
      They all turned out great, I used a chain of 70 with all 3.

    I have a question. Is it necessary to do the 2 rows of squares that you do at the beginning? Would it work with just one row of squares to build the rose petals on?

    • @LeopardsBane
      @LeopardsBane 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It took me several hours to learn this without missing any steps but I am going to try it with one set of squares and see if it will make a rose with a flatter profile. I need to do that to make the rose applique for the shawl I made. I will let you know if it works.

    • @talindakelley189
      @talindakelley189 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used 2 rows on my first rose and bc I don't have a 4 size hook, I used a 3.75mm, it turned out pretty well. The second one I made I used one row and a size 8mm hook and it really turned out very pretty. My 3rd one I made I also used only 1 row and a size 3.75mm and the yarn I used was small thread like yarn, it turned out really nice as well.

  • @evelyngines70
    @evelyngines70 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    What is a g hook? What number? 6mm 7 ???

    • @talindakelley189
      @talindakelley189 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm just a beginner, I've never made a thing but, I really want to learn. I came across this video and thought how beautiful this rose looks. I don't have a 4mm hook so I used a 3.75 first, it turned out pretty good but, then I used an 8mm and that one turned out even better.
      It was a little hard for me to follow along bc she went pretty fast and I didn't completely understand the crochet lingo but, after pausing and backing up multiple times, I finally got it! I am so proud of myself lol
      I've made 3 different ones now using different types of yarns and needle sizes and they have all turned really good.
      Now I have to figure out what to use them for lol
